QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) https://twitter.com/coatesktbb/status/821389680507752448 Check the gun. Is this a dumb thing to do? https://twitter.com/BrandonOSports/status/821389615135358976 I hope that's not his normal delivery.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) For the White Sox I predict he puts up 0-0 0.00 0.00 0 0 0

I think he ends up with the Astros for Martes, Tucker, Reed, and Perez. I want Torres, Rutherford, Andujar, Fowler from the Yankees.
-
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) .300/.400/.600 That would be a career year.
-
.310/.380/.540 Walks go up slightly as he'll be pitched around much more.

QUOTE (ypres @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) 220/280/440. 3 HR, 12 SB This projection doesn't make sense. If Anderson has a .220 ISO and walks at a ~8% clip, he might be an MVP candidate. There's no way under those conditions that his bat would have regressed so much that he only hits .220, especially since his BABIP luck is likely to be favorable due to his speed. Also, how does he hit a .220 ISO with 3 HR? Do you have him hitting 40 triples? And if so, how could you be so unfavorable on a BABIP luck projection? At a 30% K rate (unlikely), that represents about a 60 point drop in BABIP, whereas at a 25% K rate (more likely), that represents about an 80 point drop in BABIP, which also would put him below league average for BABIP. This all just seems statistically implausible to me.

.240/.300/.380 That's my optimistic line.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 10:27 AM) Cubs tax = lost Sox revenue from the fact that their inter-city rival and defending World Champs get better with Quintana. Very good way of putting it. They would pay the tax in the amount and quality of players given up to attain Quintana.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 03:12 AM) As if we're going to compete with the Cubs in the next 3 years. Who cares about some stupid stigma. The White Sox are constantly in competition with the Cubs for revenue in their shared market. That is why if they want Q, the price will be steeper for them than any other team, save maybe the AL Central teams.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 12:37 AM) I really don't get why the Cubs aren't a more talked about trade partner. Happ, Jimenez, Candelario, + low level guy just makes too much sense as a match for Q since they're all blocked in the near future. Because you're not factoring in the Cubs tax that makes a deal with them not feasible.
-
I wonder how many 300+ page Q trade threads there will be before Q is traded.
-
Am I the only one who hates Judge, thinks he's nearly guaranteed to bust, and thinks that the likelihood of him busting only increases if he joins the White Sox organization? Honestly, I'd prefer Andujar to him.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 11, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Ding ding ding Many scouts view Glasnow's stock to have slipped a little bit. He can still develop into a TOR starter, but his control is currently not very good. He likely needs a full season in AAA to work on it. Hahn has done a great job in getting more than Sox fans hoped for in each trade Quintana is not wearing a Pirates uniform without Meadows + Glasnow + Bell/Keller/Newman package I'd prefer Meadows, Glasnow, Bell, but if it's not that, then I would think Keller or Newman (especially Newman) would warrant an additional fringy prospect thrown in.
-
Anything new on the Q front?
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 8, 2017 -> 12:56 AM) Let's say the Cubs hypothetically offered Eloy, Happ, Candelario, and a lottery ticket for Q. Would you take it? No, because to trade with the Cubs, especially to send them an asset like Q that they desperately need to keep that contention window pried open as long as possible, you have to win that trade in such a way that people think the price Rizzo paid for Eaton was a bargain comparatively. Sending them Q as opposed to any other NL team or any AL team not in the Central hurts the franchise's earning potential more, so the Cubs would have to pay for that on top of paying for Q's production and contract.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:14 PM) Hrmm. whitesoxdave @barstoolWSD 9m9 minutes ago IF a deal gets done with Houston, I'm gonna predict the return to be Martes, Tucker, Stubbs, Fisher, Laureano 8 replies 9 retweets 16 likes Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 1m1 minute ago @barstoolWSD @JamesFox917 I would guess no Tucker 2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes That won't work.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) WSD predicts Martes, Tucker, Fisher, Stubbs, and Laureano if Houston trade were to get done. MAKE THEM PAY MORE! That's a good deal. If they get it, they should take it and run. I want Reed, but I want Fisher and Laureano more.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 03:45 PM) I think it's relevant in this thread, but the Rays turned down a Martes, Tucker, Paulino ++ for Archer. That is crazy. Well, that means they've moved in the right direction. Maybe they're willing to do Martes, Tucker, Reed, Stubbs for Q, now.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 4, 2017 -> 10:36 AM) http://m.mlb.com/cws/promo/soxfest Just wondering how many soxtalk members will be crashing the party, and what you are looking forward to? Probably won't be able to make it, looking forward to the announcement of a Q trade.

QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 4, 2017 -> 11:16 AM) Also Botgraphs isn't as bullish on Rodon as most here are. Projects his walk rate to go back up, which would be disappointing. They predict regression on nearly everything. Unless they've seen it before, it can't happen again.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 3, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) White Sox reportedly interested in Everth Cabrera according to twitter. I can't tweet right now. To play 2B this year? Can't Saladino and Lawrie handle that? Or is he AAA fodder at this point?

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go

QUOTE (HeGone7 @ Jan 3, 2017 -> 04:49 PM) Some very good prospects that I anticipate the Sox have a crack at. Potentially franchise altering from what I have seen and read. A bad season should net us a Bryant-type hitter that this "firesale" and system severely lack. From what we've seen trade-wise, they desperately need to be top 2. Isn't that what Moncada is? Having 2 is better, though. -
You will never get back the value right now for what he's likely to be over the next 5 years. No team will pay that price. So don't do it.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Dam8610 replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 03:35 PM) Trading Rodon right now would be selling low on him, as he was a much better pitcher down the stretch when he started using his changeup more. At the very least, give him a chance to work with a better framer next season and allow his overall numbers to improve. Dude has so much potential and can either be the ace of our next playoff team or traded for a Sale like return if the rebuild needs more time. Absolutely no reason to rush into a Rodon trade right now. Yeah, doing a rebuild, Rodon, Anderson, and all the prospects you can get your hands on should be the only assets not traded away.
