QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) You are right. The Dodgers really looked like a flawed ballclub. You know, everybody besides the Cubs this postseason has looked like a pretty ordinary roster. Maybe the Sox just need a good manager or some magic to contend. Dodgers and Giants had nothing special on the mound or in the field. Conor Gillaspie? The stiffs the Dodgers were sending to the plate and pitching? I wish we had a special manager. We don't. Nationals might have given them a run, but they had some key injuries. And, I agree. The Sox roster is very close to the Dodgers and Giants.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) Only part of the rebuild they got lucky on is Arrieta and Hendricks. Russell - still not sure what the A's were thinking

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) I LOVE good baseball. Many people I love like the Cubs. I want the cubs to win for them and I want the White Sox to follow them and rebuild their organization right. You don't like it, tough. I will continue to call you out for your petulance. You know, some team wins the Series every year. The Sox could just model their team after one of them - say the Giants or Royals. Not really sure why you pretend to not be rooting hard for the Cubs. I don't think anyone on here would really care if you didn't act like you weren't.

I haven't watched tonight. Tuning in now. Let's see if I can turn this thing around.

Maybe it's a plus for Cleveland that Arrieta starts 2 (possibly 3) games?

I recently moved, and I have several old PCs that I want to get rid of. How do I safely get rid of them? Is it good enough to just remove the hard drives and drop the rest off at Best Buy or something? I want to get rid of them without any of my info on them.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) After watching the debate it dawned on me. Everybody knows by now Trump is an idiot and an ill-equipped PERSON to lead our country. Hearing Hillary's lies about helping the middle class (sure she will; the lady who gets 650,000 for a couple speeches) it dawned on me she is just as wretched a person as Trump. Finally, Greg lets it slip how he feels about Hillary.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) He just said "bigly" twice. And is mad about Obama....deporting millions...in the shadows? Pretty sure he says "Big League." And , is Obama weak or strong against immigrants? I'm confused. She really got him riled up with the Putin stuff.

HC started out weak with the example of the young girl. Answer got stronger as she went on.

I don't think you can make a pro-choice abortion argument that sounds good. Trump wins this issue because he can give the extreme example of a late term abortion.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) "SECOND AMENDMENT. PRO-LIFE" - Trump on Supreme Court Trump truly sounds like someone in college filling out a blue book on an essay exam. He is just stretching for time when he talks.

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) My friends want to meet up at Level 257 in schaumburg tonight. I don't know if i want to be in room full of cub lovers tonight whining if they lose or screaming if they win. Show up at half time.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 15, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) if we as Catholics vote for Clinton over Trump since one is pro abortion and the other anti (abortion) Pro-choice doesn't mean pro-abortion. However, Roe v. Wade declared abortion a legal right under the Constitution, and it's interesting that the "law and order" candidate is allegedly not interested in following that law. I guess we can pick and choose which laws we follow.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 15, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) 1)She is pro choice and Trump is pro life. 2)She also offended all catholics in the leaked emails, but it's getting no publicity. 1)I doubt Trump is actually pro-life. 2)12 years of Catholic school here, and I was not offended. I actually agree that there's a faction of Catholics that are as fundamentally nutty religious as any other fundamentalist religions.

What Trump is doing with his taxes is neither illegal nor unethical. He's correct that we all take advantage of the write offs available to us. But, it's telling that he knows it looks really bad when held up against his public statements about the obligation to pay taxes, the need to build infrastructure and military (which take tax dollars), etc. Not being forthright from the beginning regarding his taxes is a definite sign that he knows it looks really bad and would be pounced on by his opponents in the primary and presidential races.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 06:55 AM) Because what somebody did or didn't do 20 years ago is a more important qualification than what they can do in the future. 'Merica! Right or wrong, it's what is done. Remember when John Kerry's post Vietnam protest was a big deal in 2004? The whole swift boat controversy was somehow relevant despite running against a guy who basically dodged the war.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 05:16 AM) Greg, one thing you've never done is articulated a legit argument for Ventura. It should be pointed out that Ventura isn't in the race, so his past misdeeds (if any) haven't been brought to to light. But, as soon as he or anyone else enters, their past becomes a real issue. My guess is that a guy who made his living as an outlandish professional wrestler in the 70s and 80s probably has some skeletons in his closet that he'd like to keep there.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 09:16 AM) Yeah, that is a great point about safety. Drowning is the largest cause of accidental death for children below the age of 16 in southern Nevada (or something like that). For the pool option, we were planning on an automatic pool cover to help provide additional security, in addition to the legally required fences and what not. As for what would we get more usage out of...I honestly don't know...I know as a kid I would have been out on that sport court as much as I could...heck, I used to throw a ball against the brick wall of my house for hours at a time...I can only imagine if I would have had something like that. The pavilion is also pretty cool, but I just wonder if that really offers activities we can't already do, just outside...not sure that is worth the kind of $ a project like that would require. I had a pool before I moved. Vegas weather is similar to my situation in AZ, and as nice as it is to have a pool when you want to use it (especially with out of town guests, etc), it often goes unused for big stretches of time. It's kind of a pain to maintain, and believe it or not, it can be too hot outside to even be comfortable in a pool in the summer. So, you're limited to night swimming and a slightly longer swim season. But, with the desert nights cooling like they do, the water doesn't get to a comfortable temp until May and goes away in September.

Sad that I clicked on this to find out who the "evil empire" is. Gotta turn my baseball mind back on. From a 23-10 start to the manager getting fired - I checked out at mid-season.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) I mean those slave-owning, wig-wearing- wooden tooth having politicians were completely perfect in writing their blueprint for the next few centuries. That's why it has never been amended.

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 05:07 AM) Pray tell... what is the correct way to protest in greg's world? The idea of protest is to get attention to your cause so that change can happen. Vote for someone who's isn't running for President. It's the best way to thank our veterans for their sacrifices. I'm voting for David Letterman. He showed us how to laugh after 9/11.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 05:42 AM) Buck will forever be the guy that will get you to the door, but will never be able to walk you through it I'd take him with the Sox. He clearly knows how to build a team.

My Dad would classify this as a case of someone who can dish it out, but can't take it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) When did he say that? I may have missed it. SS2k did not say "All," but his statement also did not qualify what he thought HC was running on beside Bill's record. He said that HC is running on her husband's record. The implication is that is all she is running on. SS2k did not say she's "basically" or "mostly" or any other words that would imply that he thinks HC brings anything more to the table than Bill's presidency.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) Now Jesse Ventura or Bernie? We like! Everyone likes the backup QB. If they were the candidates, the two parties would have spent the past few months trashing them. Then we'd all hate them.
