TBF the character flaw is mostly pitching behind this offense. Pitching isn't great, the offense is once again putrid.

The way Peralta was throwing tonight to let him go 5+ with only 2 on the board is just awful. Hanging breaker after hanging break and we refused to do anything.

There are probably two players on the entire team I'd stop what I'm doing to watch. One is Shane Smith the other is quero. When Vaughn is up I'm more likely to grab a beer than anything related to watching him. That said, I do think the FO thinks he's a bit of a fan favorite. Undersized white guy, resonates!

If he had a history of being an average regular it's one thing but he's literally been replacement level or worse for his career. I'd love to see how many guys, 3rd overall pick or not, approached 2.5K PA of below replacement production. Usually you don't get that long of a leash. Vaughn will have 2.5K PA and negative career fWAR if he's still on this team come July. Carrying two 1B who are both right handed just doesn't make any sense regardless of the rest of the roster. Vaughn just needs to either accept a AAA stint, accept a fake IL, or just get DFA imo.

While I agree we should call him up you're vastly overestimating the percentage of the fanbase represented on twitter and other online spaces. It's maybe 1/5 at most that is tuned into those areas.

I really believe it comes down to Getz not being able to say he wasted 5.5 million or whatever on Vaughn. He should just throw Hahn under the bus and say it was a terrible pick and blah blah DFA him.

He can't possibly be worse than Vaughn right now. He's a better athlete if absolutely nothing else and can save a few balls from going into RF over at first.

Vaughn is officially the worst player in baseball according to Fangraphs. Impressive April. They should just audition his spot in the lineup the rest of the year, give guys a month see what they can do.
