Eloy is really starting to regain some trust with the fans. He's played pretty smart as well since he's come back.

what is happening?

wait what?

exactly, maybe he brought some "Intangible" s%*# at one point last year, time moves on and he's objectively bad at a million other things. the pixie dust is out the bottle. the sox always seem to over play their hands, on manager or players or whoever remains "loyal", the lowest of the virtues for a reason.

TD White Sox!

Baseball is a strange fucking sport man. Sometimes when you've got nothing left to lose you set yourself on fire. I'm not sure TLR being away has much to do with this little hot streak but you know I'm not sure of much in life these days. If nothing else, it [life] teaches you to walk slowly. Not so great for message board posting but better for self preservation.

this stupid ass team waited 145 games to become fun.

He would put up 6 war until he is 32 there.

Team has a new vibe.

the death march to 82 wins continues.

this bullpen should get Hahn fired.

Mariners are a phenomenon right now. I feel sorta bad not really paying attention to baseball this late summer. I got a lot of other things going on, including in fandom. That said, who cares, go Sox, shock the world!

Gilbert is fading a bit down the stretch as you'd expect for a rookie. Sox win this one maybe I'll get tickets for tmr's game.

This is a .500 club. Odds are about 1/4 they can do a 17-10 stretch maybe closer to 1/5.

The entire approach to building the team, really starting last deadline with the Madrigal trade, has been unorganized and haphazard.

It really is. I know people are sorta conditioned to just work until you croak these days but 77 is a pretty ripe age. A lifetime of stress and drinking like TLR has done takes its toll, especially at 77.

It's a joke that the Sox subjected him to such a demanding job as well. It's a joke TLR tried to tough it out as well. Lotsa jokes to go around. That said, health is everything and even though he's old I hope he has many good years left for him and his family. Feel better TLR, just don't come back next year.

J-E-T-S J-E-T-S J-E-T-S! Will suck again.

Anger isn't a useful emotion at all in baseball.

We'll pop some corks when TLR is fired hopefully. I was horribly wrong on his influence on the club. Not ready to say that Renteria (or Hinch) was a better option but in hindsight going with TLR was a horrific move.

here is a general thank you to the staff and mods and all the posters that make Sox Talk what it is -- as not just a premier Sox forum but one of the premier forums anywhere online. we've all been through a lot as sox fans but it's nice to know whatever happens with the team we can always come here to celebrate or share our grief and anger.

Giolito's avg exit velocity is up almost a MPH and he's walking another guy per 9. xFIP is sorta broken these days given how much batted ball profiles have changed since it was introduced to I'm inclined to pencil him in closer to a 5 ERA than 4 like it suggests. He hasn't had a great year, but he's not the least valuable player. That's either Yoan or Grandal. More I think about it the more I might go with Yoan.
