  1. He won't be protected and wont get drafted either he's probably headed overseas or maybe he enjoys living in the US on his AAA salary for a few years. Seems like a fine guy just can't hit enough.
  2. We need at least 2 more runs, there's no way the pen holds them at 4.
  3. maybe 2-3 guys on our entire staff are capable of locating fastballs to put guys away on any given night. We are a staff of junk ballers by and large, it's been...OK.
  4. Teel is really a throw back player to the 90s and early aughts. High avg, high OBP, middling power at best but a solid defender at a premium position. Used to be a star archetype but in the 3TO era has been almost eliminated.
  5. love a nice quick shut down inning after a crooked number.
  6. Getz actually found two useful vets in Tauchman and Taylor. Decent job.
  7. Everybody is gassed gotta fight through it.
  8. Come on guys, finish strong. Some bad ABs so far.
  9. Good, Ramos isn't even a JAG. No standout traits. At least Vargas has shown some ability to be a decent regular.
  10. You just "smooth" the data. It's like when people say "oh you know guys out of the top 100 always pop up as legit talents" -- well yea, but it's not as LIKELY and that's the point. You have to have a critical mass of prospects as individuals will always fail no matter how talented they were at prior levels. The Sox have pretty good depth in the farm overall imo but it's not on the pitching side at the moment.
  11. There just is not a lot to do in Denver proper in summer. It's a very sleepy town from what I saw. Chicagoans have a multitude of things and have a competing franchise obviously. I don't think it's hardcore Rockies fans as much as just the reality of entertainment options in the Denver summer season.
  12. why is a 31 year old nobody with an era of 5 still pitching? We have nobody more promising at any level in the farm?
  13. Yea I tend to agree. He's graded out pretty well as a catcher too. No reason to move a guy down the defensive spectrum who is doing a good job.
  14. Not a huge fan of that quote. But if he wants to work in in a corner OF the offseason would be the time to try it.
  15. genius adding "of the staff" too. Gave yourself just enough wiggle room.
  16. Tendonitus is something that comes and goes for most young athletes. Probably just needs to adjust his training routine a bit. Maybe do some different lower body lifts for awhile.
  17. The amount of degenerate parlays based on HRs this dude has completed the last month certainly makes him a better's favorite.
  18. I know as a facility it has issues but it would bum me out seeing the Bears move out of the water front. To me that is just an iconic view with the park, museums, stadium and skyline. It's one of my favorite views of any city in the world and I know I'm not alone in that.
  19. Sox passed the Pirates in position player fWAR so they now rank 28th. Moved into a tie for 26th in wRC+ at 90. The Sox are a staggering 51 runs below average defensively. Walk rate is nice, but the holistic view is a bit grimmer.
  20. need to go 8-10 to avoid 100 losses. Hardly a lock but looks doable.
  21. Overall agree but in order to develop talent you gotta first ID it. Can't turn chicken s%*# into chicken salad and all that. So I'll give Getz a job well done for IDing guys that have a good batting eye. I never wanted to believe it but Moncada didn't have a good eye he just took a shitload of pitches and when he got to MLB that wasn't going to work anymore.
  22. It's still hard to believe Wilson was part of that trade. Getz earns a A for that Crochet trade so far and an F for this one. Overall a straight C imo.
