Yea that would be better as well. I think he gets much better reads in RF then CF.

I can't stand Leury's fake hustle when he catches it with two hands as well. Like that play all he did was blind himself and bring in a possible misplay. I'd much, much rather just make him the starting 2B at this point and roll with a real CF in Engel every night, at least it will help the pitching staff.

His squirt gun and slow ass had zero chance regardless. Sick of RF defense outside that brief period when Eaton was over there.

It's on the CF to take charge, call for it and catch it. But Leury broke back, paused and wasn't even close. Then he watched his SS try and bail him out like last night. Putrid.

That's fine he called for it but it's the fucking CFs ball 100% there and he misread that ball badly.

What a fucking joke Leury is in CF.

I like that "go zone" graphic, one of the few actually useful additions to the broadcast.

Can't be looking offspeed kid with two strikes.

Fastballs will work for now, going to need to find something else in a couple innings.

Same old Lopez. Has no secondary offering he can rely on.

I like he they are taking fastballs for strikes and then swinging through good curveballs. Seems a totally good plan.

He missed that by three feet. WTF is he even swinging at? Ball was 6 inches wide. Frustrating to see Jose continue to scuffle.

Tom Glavine was the circle change FFS Jason. I'll stop, Jason is fine, we should be happy to have him, yada yada yada.

Took the only hittable pitch for strike one.

Wow, a well positioned fastball at 96 gets him.

I was having flashbacks of bad baseball teams I played on when the Royals hit and walked him in back to back PAs. Yikes.

Yoan Moncada is Different by Craig Edwards
Yea the beauty with 5 tool guys like Yoan is that the path from 2 WAR to 4 and higher is with marginal improvement. If he can just marginally improve his contact rate he'll be a star.

Dan is a believer: Rodon and Yoan
Love when Dan Z talks Sox, thanks for the link. Fangraphs hasn't been a "must visit" for me lately so good to get the Sox content delivered here.

Anyone else want to claim Swihart / DFA Castillo
True. I would swap him out for McCann but honestly they are both replacement level. Swihart is a bit younger but hasn't hit any more than McCann.

He sucks, pass. We got plenty of suck already on the 40 man.

Tim Anderson and Offspeed Pitches
that missile he hit down the 3rd base line just foul before his single was a good example of what your stats show. Last year I don't think he'd have swung at that pitch and if he did, he'd probably have made weak contact. it was a rolling breaking ball that while decently placed didn't have much life to it and he punished it.
