Kiley McDaniel's 2023 midseason top 50 MLB prospects (Colson #2)
NCsoxfan replied to NCsoxfan's topic in FutureSox Board
It’s a miracle Hahn hasn’t already traded him -
Colson at 2!!! This is an aggressive ranking, but nobody I spoke with has Montgomery outside of their top 10; most have him in their top five. Montgomery has a shot to be a plus hitter with plus power and play shortstop in the big leagues, so the idea is similar to Holliday, but you'd see differences if you watched them. Montgomery is bigger and stronger at 6-foot-3, is one notch slower on the bases and will probably settle at third base eventually, but he's in the Corey Seager range of size/speed/strength/feel: He could thread the needle and be the best of both worlds.

It’s a low pressure environment here being around so many other failures.

How can someone watch this ball club and think the answer is Javy?!
-
Clearly Hahn never looked at players Instagram accounts before trading for them. There were red flags from the start.

Ehhh he probably is as dumb as thought of right now -
I have to give the White Sox credit. Never in a million years could I have come up with a season this f’d up. You can’t make it up. And each week they seem to one up it! So bad you have to laugh!
-
We just need to make sure Anderson goes nowhere near Colson
-
Sheesh we can’t even win a fight this season
-
Batista sounds very raw but also clearly super talented. It’s possible LA is in on a prospect that we have no chance at and this is a win win scenario.
-
I hate our front office but kind of lame to immediately judge this one. These guys seem like worthwhile flyers.

ACL Dodgers right-hander Aldrin Batista went 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA in five appearances (three starts) as he allowed just nine hits and three earned runs in 19 1/3 innings. He struck out 25 and held opponents to a .143 average. Batista, 20, was originally signed by Los Angeles (NL) as an international free agent out of Azua, Dominican Republic, on June 1, 2022. https://www.milb.com/news/minor-league-baseball-june-2023-players-of-the-month

All three sat 98-101, and all three topped out at 102. Yeeeeeeesh.”

Batista sounds pretty decent

Kim Ng: "I called up my man Kenny Williams and got it done"
NCsoxfan replied to HoosierSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ng had no idea who the Sox GM was and surely had never come across him in an organization like MLB so she called her old buddy to execute a trade. Lmao. Thanks for applying your universal business rule of thumb to something you have no f’ing clue about. -

Lol! Yeah I’m sure she has no idea who calls the shots in the white Sox Organization, so she just called her contact! -

Some men like to sit in the corner and watch. -
It’s interesting to look back at this trade with the season Dunning is having and the prospects we received for Lynn. Who won the trade? Arguably hasn’t been bad for either side.
-
imo if Bummer is truly sought after id look to move his $5m+ salary for a cost controlled prospects and flexibility on a buy low type of FA
-
Do these trades give us any flexibility to make any B/C type signings this winter? I guess difficult to know where JR is willing to let it go
-
Where do we sit currently for 2024 payroll? not sure why spotrac hasn’t removed Lynn’s salary. Where do we think Reinsdorf will let it settle? https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/chicago-white-sox/payroll/2024/
