  1. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) LOL I know we all hate Walker but sometimes a fresh start and a new opportunity is the only thing needed. I mean no one was complaining about Walk in 2005. That is incredibly revisionist. A lot of people were complaining then about the lift and pull offense. Either way, Dick Allen gets credit here. Most believed that no teams would have interest in Walker after he left.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 12:56 AM) He said he was not going to kill Hector. I implied he would. And in the end, he did try to kill Hector. And if you hadn't already known Walt had that plant (because you missed the gun spinning scene), and you hadn't read the interview from Gilligan, then it's ENTIRELY POSSIBLE for one to predict that maybe Mike or the black guy poisoned Brock and put that plant in Walt's backyard to frame him. That, at the time, was my guess, and Milkman completely shot me down and told me how dumb I was for not realizing that there was a no chance of that happening. My point is that just because Milkman did not agree with my prediction does not mean he has to s*** all over it and be a dick about it. And it sounds like your whole premise is based on not paying attention to the show.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 12:24 AM) MY PREDICTION was that Hector was going to get his eventually, you said No, I was wrong, he was not going to hurt kill him. And guess what.....I WAS RIGHT, YOU WERE WRONG. That is my point. You sit there are talk s*** about other people (or at least MY) predictions, yet you aren't even right all the time yourself. Predictions are for things to come in the FUTURE. Of course AT THE TIME Gus was not going to kill Hector. My guess was that he eventually would, and he did. And then my PREDICTION was that Walt did not poison the kid (Again, this was BEFORE I read Gilligan's interview and rewatched the gun-spinning scene that I didn't originally pay attention to), and you came here and said how wrong I was, which I believe was before the Gilligan interview even came out confirming your thoughts. My point was that it's great that you have these amazing opinions and thoughts of what happened and what will happen, but as I pointed out with the Gus not killing Hector thing earlier, YOU ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. Was I wrong about the poison thing? Yes. But my point is that you don't have to act like such a dick and rip in to people for having opinions or predictions differing from your own. You aren't always right, and I am clearly not always right. I don't recall talking s*** about what YOU think is going to happen either. Your next idea could be that Jesse kills Walt and his family next season, but don't look at me to tell you that's impossible and won't ever happen, because it COULD happen, as unlikely as it is. First of all, what do you think "get his" means? It means getting killed. It sounds like you think it means to "get his" revenge. I never said Hector wouldn't kill Gus. And I said, "I seriously doubt that Gus has any plans to kill Hector." At the time, Gus had no plans to kill Hector. That was brought about by the DEA visit.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) Very underwhelming choices to say the very least. The hitting coaches mentioned not much better. The loyalty factor of this organization is a death nail. I think the potential hitting coaches are deserving. I disagree with you there.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 10:52 AM) The Chicago White Sox received permission from Philadelphia to talk to Double-A Reading manager Mark Parent about their vacant bench coach position, a Phillies source confirmed Monday morning. Parent, 50, managed Reading to a 74-68 record in 2011. He and new Sox manager Robin Ventura were represented by John Boggs during their playing days. "That's the connection," the source said. "Mark will be good." He gets a chance to be the bench coach because they had the same agent when they played! The only thing that could've somewhat saved the hiring of Ventura in my book would have been if they hired a veteran bench coach that's been around forever. Instead, they hired a guy who managed minor league ball for 2 years and before that was managing in the Golden Baseball League (whatever the f*** that is). The White Sox are really wowing the baseball world.
  6. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) No way dude, Breaking Bad is so crazy. You can't accept anything that they are clearly showing you. I saw you typing and I was scared you were going to say something to hurt my case So I'm not alone here in being dumbfounded?
  7. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:31 PM) That dog deserves better, Milkman, you know it. You'll regret it if you don't do anything. Save it first, then figure out a long term solution. I already contacted a no-kill shelter. They basically said it'd be a long shot that they'd even take him. If I got him out, I'd probably just end up taking him to be put down anyway.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) Yeah, there was a reason, because A) Vince hadn't claimed it to be true yet and B) I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the gun-spinning scene and C) Breaking Bad is not always what it seems. There are cliff hangers, there are plot twists, and as I pointed out by that quote, you are not always right, even though your tone is definitive and offensive to those who have predictions other than yours. What you fail to understand is that the things you highlighted in my post were true at the time. Hector did get his by being the only remaining member of his family and knowing that Gus orchestrated it all. Gus was not going to kill Hector, he was going to let him rot away and occasionally rub his face in it. But then Walt created a scenario that forced Gus' hand to do it. With the finale of the season, it was absolutely abundantly clear that Walt poisoned the child. This is something that happened, not something that potentially could happen given character histories and present situations which is what you're trying to tell me I was wrong about. The fact that you don't seem to get this is incredibly aggravating. It's like this. Say there's a person you don't like, but you have no reason to harm that person. A person observing this could say that you won't hurt that person, and it'd be true. But then something comes along and totally changes the situation, say perhaps that this guy has openly threatened to murder you and was planning on following through on it. You would then have to change your view and it would be understandable. You would be Gus and the other person is Hector.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Then how could you possibly think that I don't think believe that Walt poisoned the boy? I understand that you've resigned yourself to that being true, but you're playing it off like there was good reason to doubt it at first. There wasn't.
  10. After marathoning Mad Men in the last two weeks, I think the biggest thing I take from the show is how much of a b**** and a child Betty Draper is.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) It's like you didn't even read my post..... No, I read it. I just think you're so ignorant in this situation that you can't even figure out what you're saying.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 9, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) This is so very ignorant. I can't shake the feeling that, if the situation were exactly the same and Ozzie replaced Ventura, he'd be praising Guillen for being such a ballsy bulldog, not caring whether the opponent is bigger and stronger.
  13. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) In response to me saying that Hector will get his eventually..... So in light of reading interviews from Vince Gilligan, and re-watching the scene of Walt spinning his gun on the table, I am now in full belief that it was Walt who poisoned Brock, but I'd just like to point out that you don't always know everything and you shouldn't sit on top of your ivory tower and mock people for thinking thoughts other than your own. Breaking Bad is not as predictable as you seem to think. Hector had gotten his. And Gus was going to allow him to continue living his miserable life, but had to change that because it seemed like Hector was informing for the DEA. What you're trying to say is completely different. It's obvious to anyone, except clearly you, that Walt did it. The creator himself even said it afterwards. You're saying that something that happened probably didn't happen. What I said, and it's clearly the truth, was something that would continue if Walt and Jesse hadn't arranged for Gus to change his mind about Hector. I somehow don't think you'll even get what I'm explaining here. Just give it up, you're wrong.
  14. I think the only reason I watch Dexter anymore is to simply finish the series. It's so formulaic and unoriginal anymore.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 8, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) well, I'm not in Illinois, but in Vegas, it's fast. I mail it Monday, they get it Tuesday and send another out, usually it is here Wednesday. So 2 to 3 days. I'm not sure why Netflix took that extra day to arrive. There's a mailbox right at the corner of my block, so I'll drop a movie in at night. It's picked up at about 5 in the morning, but doesn't get to Netflix until the next day. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 9, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) i dont know if it was mentioned in the blockbuster/netflix discussion, but Blockbuster is sending an email to anyone who tried their online service and also offering to new subscribers the first month free Oh yeah, I got the first month free. I did the two DVD option, but I'll probably change it to one when they're about to start charging Since you can bring Blockbuster movies back yourself and exchange them if you don't feel like waiting for the mail, I'm probably going to watch a ton of stuff (TV shows) over this month. I have a store relatively close to me.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 08:51 AM) f***. Two more eight episode seasons? Damn it. I don't like that they are splitting it. AMC trying to squeeze every last penny out of it.
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 10:18 AM) Oh my bad. I guess I forgot how black and white this show is and how everything is exactly how it appears. /sarcasm Your sarcasm is unwarranted. It couldn't be more obvious unless they did a retarded voice over of Walt's thoughts saying that he poisoned the kid, holding your hand through the thought process.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 08:43 AM) Huh. So what happened to the cigarette. Replaced one whole package with another, so Saul could just dispose of it.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 08:40 AM) That cutaway was the only bad part of the episode. Get rid of that thing with Gus walking out of the room blown away, and that is a perfect episode. Even the bear thing makes that more tolerable, though.
  20. According to Gilligan (through Sepinwall), Huell lifted the cigarettes from Jesse while patting him down. Glad that guy finally had a real purpose. STEVE, YOU WATCH IT YET?
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 12:06 AM) Yeah, I called a bell-activated wheel chair suicide as well. Didn't really like how Gus able to somehow walk out of the room and be completely composed. That was too much IMO. Also, I think Mike or the black guy planted the Lilly of the Valley berries, and then put it in Walt's backyard. I can't see Walt poisoning a child. It could not be clearer that Walt poisoned the kid. This was my point about having to be punched in the face with something. You just caught a right hook, and you don't know it somehow. Remember when he played spin-the-bottle and the gun pointed at at him twice, then pointed at THE EXACT PLANT THAT HAPPENS TO SHARE THE NAME OF THE POISON THAT ALMOST KILLED THE KID? The one that Jesse said is commonly ingested by children, and then Walt had a s***-eating grin on his face about? God damn it.
  22. HOLY f***ING s***!!! BREAKING BAD I LOVE YOU! The half face thing I could've done without though.
