QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) why is posting my sons ultrasound pathetic? I was excited, it was my firstborn shack, post as many pics as you want. Every day if you want. Milkman posts all of his moustache pictures, so I dont think he is any position to dictate what is and what is not pathetic Hey, I have all of those in one album, and it was a f***ing amazing mustache. Jealous.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) I have those too, I think its somewhat pathetic, but not as bad as people posting several other things like freakin ultrasound photos and pictures of what they cooked each night. Having a single album where you upload a picture or two of your dog a month is fine, but I swear there are people on there with multiple albums devoted entirely to their pet. And then there are the people who have every profile picture with their dog. The latter is usually a guy who is desperately trying to come off as deep/emotional and looking for a girl.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) I'm going to get prints made and leave them on the windshield of your car. Haha, thanks! But seriously, other people must have facebook friends who have albums of pictures of their pets. It's seriously pathetic.

Any Ideas why Major Networks Dislike The Sox?
Milkman delivers replied to Rooftop Shots's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) Still can't figure it out! As we all know, that for many years ESPN has had no love for The Sox. Last year on MLBN's 30 clubs in 30 days they had us next to last on the schedule. This year On MLBN ,when they were going through who they thought were the top 10 best teams this year, Rod Allen picked The Sox as #8 and Harold Reynolds laughed his head off and said that he was surprised that they were on the list at all! When Reynolds was asked about the depth of The Sox rotation, he ducked the question and reverted the question over to Oakland and yacked up a storm about them. Even Mitch Williams. Reverts questions off of The Sox, and straight onto Detroit and how good they are. Yesterday, they talked about major key players that were injured last year that can make major impacts on teams if they are healthy. Santana, Morales, Nathan, and a few others were mentioned. How the heck can Peavy's name not even be mentioned let alone not be thrown into the conversation? This year on the TV broadcst schedule, (Except for one spring training game) ESPN has NO GAMES scheduled for The Sox this year. I know that we are all Sox fans and have some great hopes this year, but why don't major networks see us as a legitimate threat? I mean....C'mon already! Look at our line up and rotaion and pen! Maybe it's not tops in the majors, but sheesh......I don't thnk that we should be looked upon as a pile of rags that aren't worth the time of day for discussion on contending and being a threat! He promptly sexually harassed the closest female intern. -
If Heyman is right about the offer the Cardinals made, then Pujols would basically have to be a prick not to take it. I'm sure someone will say that he's just doing what's right for his family (would YOU take less money in a job?, etc.), but he'd absolutely ruin his reputation among fans and writers if he declines that deal. I would hate him for sure.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) It's the generic answer but you really can't beat Pac and Biggie imo. Put them 1-2 in either order and go from there. No Eazy?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) Pup flies in Saturday afternoon....have ordered everything I can possibly think of, including food, toys, treats, bed, crate, grooming tools, etc. He's about 23 pounds already at 9 weeks. Ready to rock and roll...should be fun...and a challenge...oh my. Please, for the sake of everyone else, do not be one of those people who constantly posts pictures of your dog on facebook. It's annoying as hell and comes off as very pathetic and creepy.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 06:01 PM) You think they're bad? Excellent rotation. Above average bullpen. No matter how overpaid Wells is, he's an upgrade. If Morales comes back healthy they've got a pretty good team. Oh, that Peter Bourgos kid looks real nice. Dude can fly and he's already above average defensively. He and Trout might be the two fastest guys in baseball. Does it seem pretty cool that the Angels have had both Salmon and Trout? Too bad they never had Catfish.

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) Yah Moon is pretty much a revelation. I didn't read up on the movie before I saw it, so I had no idea that it was going in that direction. I thought it was just about a guy living on the moon by himself and dealing with it.

Why do so many people think Peavy will miss whole months?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) This is why I went custom. F*ck Phil Wellman. I feel like I'm too far into it to change to custom.
-
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) Then why'd you click a link titled SI Swimsuit thread? I agree with him, and I clicked on the thread because I read pretty much every thread But yeah, I don't get why guys still buy the swimsuit issue, or even why they watch certain shows because one or more of the actresses are hot.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 12:10 PM) Congrats, you are approaching Phil Wellman status. If only I could be so memorable.

Thank you, sir.

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
Milkman delivers replied to TheChrisSamsa's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) With the amount of additional salary they've taken on this year, in the event of an April/May like last year, they will look at their books and realize their ticket sales have eroded, and they'll be in an even worse position for 2012. They'll start planning for significant salary cutbacks next year. With the contracts (years) they just handed out to Dunn, Konerko, and Crain, I really believe they've made a commitment to at least 2012. -
Can someone post or direct me to the list of statuses for post counts? I'm nearing 14,000 and sort of wonder what's up next.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) To this day, Tim Allen's radio commericials for Michigan sometimes get me, because of the same music. I hadn't noticed that. Gonna have to pay attention next time. But yeah, I swear I almost lost it three separate times during that movie. When the kid from Malcolm In The Middle died, when Michael Caine was crying outside the boys' door when they said goodnight to him, and when Caine (I'm pretty positive) killed himself. I've always been a big Michael Caine fan, so that might have played a part in it.

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) For f***'s sake why in the world would we give up Danks? To be blunt, people aren't smart.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) 91 wins, first in the Central. Morel has a good rookie season, Dunn hits over 40 home runs, Konerko declines to near 2009 levels, Rios begins the year with struggles, but has a good second half to recover, Beckham has a breakout season, and Peavy starts 25 games. This is about exactly how I see things going.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) I agree with you on Moon. I was completely wrapped up in the movie from start to finish. I can see where some people would get bored, seeing as it's basically one actor on screen the entire time and no explosions, but I loved it.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:41 AM) I have had it queued on Netflix for a bit. Glad there is another positive review. Someone posted the trailer for it here on Soxtalk probably a year ago. It had been on my queue since then, and I finally saw it a few weeks ago.

I've seen The Cider House Rules and Moon in the last two days. I came closer to crying watching The Cider House Rules than I have watching a movie since probably Schindler's List. Moon was much more interesting than I expected. I'd heard that it is boring from more than one person, but I was into every second of it. Both were great movies.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 11:16 PM) Look on the bright side. We get Humber or Harrell this time around. You have turned into quite the little Debbie Downer

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
Milkman delivers replied to TheChrisSamsa's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) After last year, I feel compelled to make sure people add that caveat when they say that a firesale could never happen this year. In the scenario where they are so bad early in the season that they're out of it by July, the only guys they'd likely trade are those with expiring contracts after 2011. This team is built with a 2-year window (maybe 3), so I don't think they'd have an outright firesale in 2011.
