  1. I don't know the answer to the topic, but now I'm even more confused after reading it.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) 1st Sox pitcher since Kip Wells in 1999 to win debut. Wow, that's bad.
  3. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) Dayan needs to be starting at DH every game. Over Kotsay? What are you, stupid?
  4. Thanks for that start. I don't think any of us saw him going six innings while only giving up one run. He gave us all we wanted and more.
  5. It's a thread for bad jokes. No reason to even talk about banning.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) What a great performance by the offense last night, really took advantage of some crap pitchers. Kotsay is the biggest rally killer ever. No, Hawk's "Don't stop now, boys" is the biggest rally killer ever.
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:54 AM) Yes I thought the Lucy comment made it obvious. I also gotta say Eric Threets is looking pretty impressive. Has anyone ever hit agaisnt a pitcher with all of those tatoos on their arms? If so, are they a distracting? Those specific tattoos?
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) Don't tell Ozzie these things. Real baseball people don't watch a computer. Babe Ruth didn't watch a computer, Pete Rose didn't watch a computer. With websites such as sportsbook.com, I'm sure he would have if the technology was around.
  9. OK, I had no access to Soxtalk all day, and now I see that this trade is official. Any actual news suggesting that where/for what Jackson would be flipped?
  10. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) Ive never understood people's embarrassmennt over taking a loud dump or farting in a public restroom. I mean, that's the proper place to do it, right? That should be true, but it's embarrassing because you'll still draw attention to yourself and likely draw some giggles.
  11. I laughed my ass off at that.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 02:02 AM) It was a mistaken identity, which happens all the damn time unfortunately. Says who, though? I know the mother was saying that (but the victim's mother always claims that their child was perfect and had nothing to do with gangs). The kid was shot 22 times. I really can't see that being a case of mistaken identity. A drive-by where the person is hit a few times (upwards of 10), yes, but not 22 times.
  13. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Ever been in your car, stuck in traffic, when suddenly, out of nowhere, you get 'the rumbles'?? You know you have about 5 mins to get on a toliet. One of the worse feelings. Yes, unfortunately.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) I've always had places where I knew I could go and be relatively "safe" if that occurred Count your lucky stars.
  15. I don't know about any of you, but when the temperature is in the 90's and humid, my desire to stab people in the neck increases quite dramatically.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) If I know I'm going to be gone for a long while I usually take a pre-game one. Rarely have I had to use a public place. You've never been at work or school and had a case of the runs?
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) Oh I just find a safe haven when I have to do that. I try, but sometimes you have to use a public restroom. I wait until nobody's in there to "let loose." The worst is when you're in the middle of it, and someone walks in.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) i would totally pee on your pee. you would own nothing You have no idea how much asparagus I eat.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) I wonder if this condition is an old animal instinct that isn't being properly suppressed in certain people. An animal going in the wild may feel vulnerable if there are others around. Or the people who have trouble going are too timid to mark their own f***ing territory. I wish humans worked like that. I'd own everything.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) I don't know if any of you have been hearing about all this, but there have been an insane number of shootings in Chicago this summer. A kid was shot 22 times yesterday while riding his f***ing bike. He wasn't even in 8th grade yet. OK, it's definitely sad for someone of that age to suffer like that. Having said that, and despite his age, you don't get shot 22 times for no reason.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:40 AM) Agreed. I had heard of stage fright before, but I thought it was this like really rare thing, and I couldn't really imagine people actually having it. Clearly I was wrong. I thought it was more of a sitcom type of thing, not so much a real thing.
  22. QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 08:42 AM) Dude I cant even begin to tell you how frustrating it is. Whats funny is I can tell when other guys have it too, cause we will both be standing there for minutes which seems like hours and not hearing a tinkle hit the urinal from either of us...just silence.....awful and awkward silence. I get a form of "stage fright" when I'm doing the other deed, but that's due more to embarrassment/shame than not being able to go. In fact, sometimes I find it hard to hold it, but want to do so until the bathroom is empty.
  23. I'm honestly surprised that so many people have or had this problem. It seemed like such a non-issue to me.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 07:20 AM) I know you weren't around (hell I was still very young), but that was a big deal at the time - East Germany and other eastern block countries had pumped their athletes so full of steroids it was hilariously obvious. Cheating at max power. That was 9 years before I was born, but even I have seen plenty of allusions to that team on TV and such (enough that I know it was a big deal).
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 08:13 AM) This Bobby Jenks stays around the rest of the season, and we win the division and probably make a playoff push. Every team we'll be playing will have 6 innings to beat us. Exactly, but we can't be sure that he'll stay with it. Who knows why, but my guess is that he's afraid of getting hurt by dialing the fastball up there and/or throwing that hook. It's basically a catch-22 for him. He needs to do those things to be successful and sign a big contract in the offseason, but doing it may cause him an injury which makes a big contract a pipe dream.
