  1. You're doing this very quickly, nice.
  2. When do you expect to have the entire list posted?
  3. Superbad is one of the most overrated movies in recent history (right up there with Juno, which I know you all love, too). It is, by far, the worst of the four movies. 40-year-old Virgin, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and then Superbad. The first two are close, and then there is a definite drop from 2 to 3, and a large drop off from 3 to 4.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) Yeah. I think he meant the pennant. Or, he's saying that he's not predicting them to win the Central, bu that there is a good chance they do.
  5. How early are you gonna have the lists up? I have tomorrow off, and will be up probably pretty late into the night. So, earlier is better .
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) I like the pizza delivery one. The tone of the bugs voice is funny. See, that voice came off more as a rapist or murderer to me. That's what I meant by it being a little creepy. EDIT: I want to clarify, I think they're also funny.
  7. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) The Pirate's announcers are talking about how they aren't happy about being in the Central because of the time change and they should be in the East. That's fine. Unfortunately that would only serve to make the Pirates suck even more. They'll just lose games an hour earlier if they switch to the NL East.
  8. The new commercials for Orkin, with the giant bugs trying to convince people to let them into their house, are kind of funny, but they're also really creepy to me.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 12:08 PM) So the wife rented "Dan in Real Life" for some reason last night. We turned it off after 30 minutes, as it was just about the worst movie I've seen in a while. Please tell me it gets better as it goes along? It's a tough movie to categorize. It wasn't really a comedy (at least it wasn't very funny). I think it was just a story about a middle-aged father raising his kids alone and him trying to date again. I dunno, I didn't hate it or love it.
  10. Nobody mentioned the Sopranos yet, so I will.
  11. I enjoyed Forgetting Sarah Marshall a lot, and I have no complaints about it. But, it wasn't as funny as people are making it out to be.
  12. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) Yes, games on WGN are usually on my extra innnings package. So you aren't getting tonight's game either? I don't see it on my tv.
  13. Yeah, but since this game is at 7 EST, it should still be shown. Does WGN usually get picked up on Extra Innings, for future reference? Is this just one of those flukes?
  14. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 09:07 AM) That's the 2nd time I've been asked that. GPA stands for Gross Production Average. It's a stat used from the Hardball Times. A variation of OPS, but more accurate and easier to interpret. The exact formula is (OBP*1.8+SLG)/4, adjusted for ballpark factor. The scale of GPA is similar to BA: .200 is lousy, .265 is around average and .300 is a star. A simple formula for converting GPA to runs is PA*1.356*(GPA^1.77). For comparions sake, Uribe has a GPA of .168, Cabrera a GPA of .242, and Pierzynski a GPA of .304. Bulls***.
  15. QUOTE (Soxy @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Meh, if you really want to--it's not hard to convince guys to drop trou. Although, I do think Jason Segel is the ultimate cutie pie. Low standards, eh?
  16. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) I gained some respect for Hawk to find out he is a republican However, he is still a homer by actually thinking Mayor Daily is a good mayor. Yeah, I bet you know a ton about politics.
  17. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) i love festus It's a good gimmick. I hear that Festus is exactly what they've been trying to make Snitsky for the last 3 years.
  18. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) And not old people across the board either. My wife can't stand it and she's old as dirt like me. Strangelove is absolutely brilliant, period. I understood the comedic aspect of Dr. Strangelove. Don't get me wrong. It's just not the type of movie that makes me actually laugh. When I look at the lists of the greatest comedies on AFI and the like, I feel the same way about most of the movies they have on their lists (of the ones I've seen). I'm not too familiar with the Marx Brothers, but the Stooges are hilarious to this very day. I can't imagine how good they were back in their prime. What's your take?
