  1. No way we'll get a discount. He's going to go for every penny. I agree with many of you: win us the Series, then do whatever you want.
  2. On an f-ing airplane Saturday, arriving probably in 2nd or 3rd inning depending on how long Fox will drag things out. In a NY hotel room the rest of the week. Stopover in Chicago Thursday though...could it be?
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) http://www.igottohavethat.com/SiteSolution...op2=68&_op3=469 http://www.igottohavethat.com/img/244.jpeg Nice purchase.
  4. I'd move Juan way down and Dye way up on that list. Pods should be closer to the top, too.
  5. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 08:53 AM) For one horrible moment, as I read the thread title I thought it would be JESSE Jackson and I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! But I really like these two choices. I thought it would be Jesse, too. Glad it's Bo. I like the choices -- '59 tie-in and Bo is cool. I was having strange thoughts while trying to go to sleep last night about offbeat choices...guys from so many of the teams that gave it their all since '59 and came up short: Joel Horlen, Tom McCraw, Dick Allen , Richie Zisk, Ron Kittle, Black Jack, Jim Parque
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) LOL, hell yeah, I've got a bed reserved at the detox clinic for early November. For some stupid reason, I went on a strict diet just before the ALCS and haven't had a drink since. That will change with 4 more wins.
  7. You'd need to include all the creative versions and nicknames too
  8. QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) I think they are trying to insult us, my word was "ongoing". I think my next word will be "hopeless". Mine was "choker"
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Whatever you do.. IF you get them from one source do NOT try to buy them from a second source. Both orders will be cancelled if the CC's match. If you use different cards are you OK? Any idea?
  10. That's the one that gets me choked up. Somehow, Joe Buck's bland delivery didn't hit me the same way.
  11. My wife and I went out for our anniversary last night. She was cool, said we could stay home and watch the Sox game, but I said let's go out, I'll tape the game, and we'll be back in time for the last few innings. Anyway, we go to Benihana's. After a while, I look down at the Hibachi grill next to us and do a double-take. The manufacturer? Garland. http://www.garland-group.com/garland_flash_home.html As we walk out of the restaurant, I check the TV at the bar: Sox 4-0. What a job by Jon. Wow. He and Mark both stepped up big time. Love to see Garcia do the same tonight.
  12. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) We just don't want you to be a communist. That's it. You've got it. I can see it now...Mariotti ripping it.
  13. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:55 AM) I have not been able to get that song out of my head for the past 2 weeks. I wake up and it's the 1st thought in my brain. I find myself whistling it at work. I'm obsessed with it.....and I LOVE it. Same here...constantly annoying my wife. The kids are into it too and beg me to play it all the time. I am only happy to oblige.
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:22 AM) You would have to think that would be on the minds of the Sox, as well it should. My key to the game, and for that matter the rest of them, is to only make outs at the plate. These guys cant keep getting thrown out tagging but, making dumb plays, getting thrown out stealing, ect. ect. There is a difference between being aggressive and being stupid. Capitalize on opportunity given. You know, it's funny. I agree Rowand (Cora) and Crede should have been smarter. But, if the 3B bobbles that ball for a split second or his throw home is just a little wide then everyone is praising the Sox for their aggressiveness on the bases. ARow was out by a hair. Same for Crede. When we played the Angels in Sept and Vlad made that unconventional play to score from second, everyone praised him. If Gooch's throw was on the money, Vlad would have been called an idiot for killing the rally. But, you're right, the stupid play has to stop and for some reason I think it will. My concern is Garland, based on his last outing against the Angels, his rustiness, and nerves pitching on the road in his first playoff game. I'd take this line from the game in May we lost to the rookie Santana: MAY 23 @ANA 7.0 IP 11H 3R 3ER 0HR 1BB 4K
  15. They didn't deserve to win game 2 even without the AJ play? I don't understand that statement. It was anybody's ballgame. Angels looked pretty embarassing at the plate as well. As I recall, they only scored one fxxxing run.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Lackey = a person who Lacks something otherwise termed a lackey lacker or slacker. A Lackey always gets shillackeyed or shillaylayed. the yanks never figured this out. i didnt go to grad school for nothing ya know. Lackey shut us down last time he pitched against us in Chicago. Of course, it didn't help he had a three run lead to work with out of the chute. We had some chances against him but didn't get the job done. I hope the bats return to ALDS form and we can get a series lead on these guys.
  17. QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) I said in another post...it's pretty sad when your 7-8-9 is the meat of your order. Two things I was pretty sure of last night: Pods and Dye not coming through with men on base. I feel real good with Gooch, Crede and Uribe in those situations. OK with Paul, AJ, and ARow. Not very good with Carl. Great job Joe!!! People (FOX) forget he had to get the hit or we're going into extras. It's not all about a controversial call.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) We had to live with 3 days of panic in Spring Training when Buehrle's foot suddenly started hurting and he could hardly walk for 1 day. For God's sake, don't put me through that again. wow. Forgot about that. That was kind of tense, wasn't it?
  19. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) I must've read it wrong. Of course I know that. Fisk tagging out Dale Berra and Bobby Meacham at Yankee Stadium at home plate. Which I believe is the same game that Tom Seaver won his 300th. Wild play. I was actually at that game. It was one of those where you turn to the guy next to you and say: "did I just see what I think I saw?". In fact, Sox won the game in the 11th, when Ozzie singled, stole second and scored on a single. It wasn't the game where Seaver won his 300th. That was two days later.
  20. Another built-in excuse for the Angels, poor wittle Jarrod isn't feeling well. Maybe MB can stub his toe to even things up so we don't have to hear all night about how gallant Washburn is for pitching through it.
  21. What the hell, let's drop the next two. That will do the trick.
  22. All I know is I sat at US Cellular and watched the Angels beat our ass in three games in Chicago in September. So, I'm not taking anything for granted in this one. We're playing much better now and you won't see Blum at first, still, this team handed us one and they pounded Garland and El Duque.
