  1. I think 20 games is too many to start Paul, but i guess because we already wasted a roster spot on him, you gotta play him.
  2. I watched maddux's start against florida 2 starts ago, and he looked brutal. I don't know if it's age, a slow start, or a little bit of both, but he was just awful. His velocity being down wouldn't cause him to get lit up like this, it's not like he throws 95 mph to begin with. The biggest thing i noticed is that he's missing location on A LOT of pitches. The target would be outside and he's miss by a good 8 inches and it's be right over the plate and someone like Alex Gonzalez just pounds it into the bleachers. I think control is something he can fix, and you may be able to attribute it to a "slow start", but who knows, this could be his real big down year. And if it is, the braves are screwed, especially with Byrd done for 2-4 months now. They signed shane reynolds today, which was a good move. I don't really know why houston let him go...they have enough young arms there that could flame out, ala carlos hernandez that it'd be nice to have him in the rotation. He's not that bad.
  3. If magglio hadn't put a ball in play this year, manuel would still say "i'm not overly concerned" Lee has been a huge disappointment thus far. Most of us thought he'd have somewhat of a breakout season, and i know it's only been a week and some, but it's just not happening. He looks really lost in some of his at bats...it's painful to watch. Might we see borchard up here sooner than later? If, worst case scenario lee never turns it around and we just can't play him, what do we do for our other outfielder? I'm not too excited about a outfield that has rowand AND rios in it, or even daubach at this point
  4. Wasn't the person who got the 500 sosa ball a teenager? What a prick, not giving it back to Sosa. Gotta believe the parents have a hand in this.
  5. If the conditions are anything like they were in baltimore for opening day, and i guess it's supposed to be worse, cancel the game. You can't see a damn fly ball, and hitting has to be near impossible. Oh well.
  6. Heather is way too happy about this win. Basically, when they scored i said "eat that detroit", then quickly realized all we did was hurt their PLAYOFF seed. we aren't going to the playoffs, this season was a complete failure after jan 18 (damn fleury), time to watch some playoffs.

the hitting sucks, period. if you put on the auto hitting, you hit like .450 with every guy. it's not very realistic at all. world series baseball has a great pitcher/batter interface

have you played asb? anyone who says it is too hard to hit is either a little b**** who won't put in any effort or a half-wit who can't learn. ya, or spiff is really gay for making that comment considering i didn't even say it however the pitcher/batter interface in asb is really really s***ty compared to wsb and the other ones. period.
  9. Whoa, i was wondering where he was, cuz he didn't do hawks or sox games...he's doing the final four? That's really weird I think he sucks compared to Harvey Wittenberg (the former hawks PA guy).
  10. no, you give a guy more innings when he proves he can do more than walk the only guy he faces. if he gets them out consistenly, maybe extend him a bit
  11. at blackhawkzone.com they put the teams schedule on a page featuring a player, with some pictures on there, and they turn it into a desktop. i think this would be a great idea. you could easily see when the sox play and what channel they are on for quick reference. just a thought.
  12. when you come in and walk the only guy you faced, you failed miserably.

world series 2k3 is by far the best game for ps2. very very realistic, and if your a fan of franchise, it's got one helluva franchise mode also. all star baseball is crap
  14. well yesterday he didn't get the only guy he faced, that was pretty terrible.
  15. 5 games. it's that simple....they aren't anything special, or the "real deal" as you say. but they'll finish 3rd in the central.
  16. especially when rick white sucks. marte will probly pitch the 8th inning most games as setup, i'm not worried. the problem with wunsch is that he's a lefty specialist, and might get clocked by righties. so pitching a whole inning could be dicey.
  17. what do you need a clock for? are you leaving the game early like cubs fans at wrigley? the problem with the upper deck is that when you get past the infield, the seats are absolutely terrible and way too far away from the play. you have to be no further than the infield to have decent seats up there. it'd be great if they could fix that.
  18. i thought someone said josh stewart was starting tomorrow, with colon pitching in cleveland?
  19. i would say let's hope he recovers at least as fast as jeter does...the way that looked, there's a good chance it could easily be longer, but who knows.
  20. they were on wgn the first game of the year weren't they?
  21. Thus far: You gotta see this, Full Access, Coaches corner final four preview, Around the horn, now PTI.....this blows. However, now a 5:00 stupid f***ing rain delaying the start of the Sox home opener...sitting here watching rain delay programming hoping for this game to start, thus far have watched You Gotta See This and now Full Access...blahstart time, some guys appeared to be removing the tarp...might be some hope here....ya baby!
  22. Thank God. Why'd did Fox get rid of it in the first place?
  23. Thus far, one episode of "you gotta see this" has been watched by me Now onto Full Access
  24. Or Carlos Lee. I don't exactly think you would need to start those rumors. They've been around for a while (lidle for lee last year) I don't see konerko going anywhere, esp with thomas getting up their in age and his downward spiral in performance.
  25. The biggest thing was it was built for about $150 mil. They made it as cheaply and generically on purpose, to keep it within the budget. I believe Camden cost about $400 mil, to put it into perspective. But the reason Comiskey is so plain is that they didn't put any extra money into it at all! Yes, very true, good point. The only thing that comiskey had that was somewhat unique at all, and no i don't count the exploding score board, was the restaurant down the right field line. And that's about it. It was just so plain, it was essentially a minor league ballpark..just nothing to it.
