QUOTE(minors @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) This sounds like a case a while back where a burglar fell through a skylight while trying to break into a house and cut himself on a kitchen knife that was on the counter and sued the homeowner and because it was in the liberal state of California he won. Sounds like an urban legend. Did that actually happen?

I'm inclined to disbelieve anything that W says.

I thought/hoped that book burnings were a thing of the past.

QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) on baseball tonight, on touchem all, they had konerkos home run with the text at the bottom of "ONLY his 2nd homerun in the past 3 games"... tough standards. I saw that, too. I wondered if we were going to hear more complaints about media bias....

Wait- What am I doing at work on a Sunday?
-
In the mornings: Mike and Mike beats Mike North, who needs to talk more about sports and less about politics. During the day: I'm at work and rarely get to listen. When I could listen, I liked Silvy and Carmen, but they've been moved. The Score late morning guys never really did it for me. Afternoon Drive: I love Boers and Bernstein. I like MJH. If I have to choose one over the other, I choose B&B. Evenings: I'm not listening to the radio; I'm watching the Sox game.

Jon looked good. He was victimized by some sub-par play from the corner outfielders. And Ozzie got Jon out of there before he could have his One Bad Inning.

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 12:06 PM) yessir...it's now on espn, so we get to hear the old guy say such things as ooribe and tada iguchi I predict that Jon Miller will call our second baseman "Taguchi" at least one time tonight. -
'Twould be great. But do you have any source besides your friend?
-
All right. I'm off to the Cell! Kick some ass, Buehrle! Offense- Knock CC's hat straight!
-
Jon, the critics in this case are entirely under your control. Pitch better, and the critics will shut up. Until you pitch better, you ought to do the same.
-
The weather is clearing up a bit. I think it will be gray and gloomy today, but they'll get the game in. See you in Section 102!
-
I don't agree with Bernstein about this group. This group can certainly get into October and win. However, with this group playing, as it is, way below their ability, they won't get to October or win there.

Anderson's catch was SPEC. TAC. U. LAR!!!

QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 08:31 AM) yeah Iwould like to know because I'm planning on going. Chicagotribune.com's forecast calls for steady rain this morning with scattered showers in the afternoon. I predict that the game will be played, but there will be rain delays. I'm at the office downtown this morning, so I'm going to try and get some work done while keeping an eye on the weather. But I think there will be baseball on the South Side today. Of course, what the hell do I know?
-
And, of course, we get to see Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia again. Personally, I'm not looking forward to more lefty troubles for the Sox.
-
Man, to hear some posters here talk, if a player makes an error during the season, he's crap. Only perfection will suffice.
-
I'm glad to see that we're all in agreement on this one. And I have a lot of respect for those right-leaning posters here who are all calling this political move for what it is- a cheap ploy that has no business distracting Congress from the real issues at hand.
-
I am worried, though, that they didn't get another baserunner after the fourth last night. Three up, three down from there. Let's hope for some consistent run production today!
-
The wife and I will be there. We've got to turn this streak around! The Sox are 6-1 this season with me in attendance. Rally Balance, anyone?

QUOTE(hi8is @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) righty one out guy lefty one out guy i think the Y is just to make it sound swanktastic! Thanks. That makes more sense than "Righty off one good year" or something.

Could someone please post the definition of "ROOGY" and "LOOGY"? I have guesses, but I'm not sure.

QUOTE(earthshiner @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) This is why I love Hawk. He has declined over the last year or so but he makes me feel the game. I am just as disgusted when the Sox blow a lead. So disgusted I change the channel for a few minutes just to calm myself down. If they come back and take the lead I am sometimes yelling right along with Hawk. He may not be a great play by play guy by todays emotionless ESPN standards, but I will take some half insane fan yelling any day. You hit the nail right on the head. I don't need any announcer to tell me what's going on in the game (and this is not to say that Hawk has any glaring shortcomings there- nobody's perfect). I can see it for myself. Hawk brings a lot of emotion to the game, and really amplifies how I feel when I'm watching the game on TV. He has a great history within the game, and with his anecdotes and experience, he brings a depth to the game that I would never see if it were just me watching. I honestly don't understand why so many people hate Hawk. I guess you never find anyone who doesn't feel strongly about him, positive or negative, which says a lot.
