This is what I am holding out for.....but not holding my breath. Maybe they are trying to play the market on RF and hope that someone will take a 1-2 year bridge contract if they can't get a team? Kind of what they should have done last year instead of jumping on Eaton. It is risky...but it could pay off if no one wants to give Conforto/Joc/Schwarber the money they want.

I am less afraid of Boras in this situation than the fact that Semien just played too well that he will get too big of a contract for us to be in it. If we offer the most he will sign here.

To me this whole thing is very upsetting and casts a very dark cloud on probably my 2nd favorite team behind the White Sox. The utter lack of compassion and common sense makes me want to throw up. This crap makes the whole LaRussa debacle look like nothing by comparison. I agree with the statement that unfortunately this happens everywhere and has probably happened in most locker rooms in most sports....but that needs to change. The more this kind of stuff gets this much airplay and the more teams will do the right things just out of sheer fear of shame. (I don't believe teams/organizations would do the right thing altruistically unfortunately) I will never look at the Blackhawks in the same light. Between this and what happened to Aliu is just extremely disheartening and disgusting really.

This is just infuriating. Garcia threw more pitches over 96 in this one game, than the ENTIRE SEASON?!?!??? Yeah, that kind of stuff randomly happens all the time. I know..every team in MLB is cheating in some way....or at least trying to. But the Trashtros seem to take all of it to the next level and tbh they don't even need to. They can probably win multiple WS (or at least reach multiple WS just on their talent). Something needs to change to put these guys in their place and have some sort of punishment for this nonsense.

If true, it is an odd situation regardless. Maybe Jerry wanted to hand pick the next owner before he passes? Give up 30% now to get involved and then just sell the rest upon death or when just ready to do so?

I don't like bunts either as sacrifices, but it looked like he was trying to bunt for a hit there, so I think it was a smart play. Sacrifice was worst case scenario in that situation (hit was the best case) and like you mentioned it is already the 8th inning and getting 2 guys in scoring position it is worth the out sacrifice in my book. Sacrificing in the 2nd inning or when you have 4-5 hard hit balls in a row is NOT the right situation to bunt.

Agree with this...Cleveland was class on the HBP and I think the team took note. Shouldn’t carry over. Need to start hitting better with RISP and they will go on a little run I hope. Get Eloy and Robert back and start mashing.

Both of these are just not true. Hernandez is a better version of Leury....and I think he has a team option for next year. Escobar .246/.300/.478 105 RC+ 2 WAR Cesar .231/.307/.431 100 RC+ 1.8 WAR Leury .247/.325/.348 90 RC+ 1.1 WAR Hernandez is also now our co-leader in HR.

This is the key. Escobar was the original target by all accounts and he didn't pass the medicals. Hernandez is nearly a clone of a player as Escobar when you really look at it.

Hernandez won the GG last year. Leury is barely average defensively at 2B. i think defensively it is a pretty big upgrade.

Especially Robert and goodBummer. You get the real Bummer and add a RP to this team and they become the bullpen we hoped they would be.
