2025 WS- Dodgers/Blue Jays
People over-estimating the Twins then. They are going to be awful, on top of maybe still having more selling to do. Their farms system is deeper and better at the top, but that will take a couple of years to get to.

2025-26 NFL Season Thread
To follow up on this, the fact that ANY Bears player went closer than 10 yards to the football on the on-side attempt should be a fireable offense. If the ball doesn't go 10 yards, the play is dead. You cannot be in a position to be touched by the football at fewer than 10 yards out, under any circumstances, whatsoever. It cannot happen. Either players need to be released, or the Coach should be fired. Maybe both.

Also gotta give it to Caleb who did what he needed to do down the stretch to recover this game for the Bears. Also nice to see a Loveland sighting.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
How's it working out? The White Sox just set a major league record for the worst season in the 125 year history of major league baseball, and the 2nd worst ever for 2 and 3 seasons combined. Give me trying and failing over not caring at all.

Fall/Winter Ball 2025
Yeah, I am not interested in putting a Hall of Fame ceiling on anyone in this system today.

Two billion per team. That’s 4 billion dollars split 30 ways, or about 133 million per owner.

The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf
Which is why when the Sox won the World Series, Konerko gave the ball to future Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, and not to Jerry...

Their business is headquartered in Chicago, and the purchasing brother is building a nine figure house in the burbs. Just because we haven't heard of talk, doesn't mean their hasn't been something happening behind the scenes. That is typically how this is done.

The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf
The team made an honest effort at Wheeler and set the market for him. That's fine.

The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf
Eh, it wasn't quite the same as ACTUAL free agent top of the market spending, but I will say it did set a record for that time period.

1. Albert Belle. That's it. That's the list.

Wheeler doesn't bother me as badly as the Harper/Machado/TLR troika.

A few months ago you were telling us how he could step in for Vaughn.

Which was my entire original point in saying that guy doesn't seem to exist now.

Tim Elko undergoes ACL surgery, expected to miss eight months
Call me crazy, but calling a kid who still hasn't drawn a paycheck to play baseball, a future White Sox 1B doesn't seem like a thing that furthers discussion, and is quite literally what turned this into a tete a tete over who can be called a future 1B instead of you crapping on Tim Elko.

There is nothing wrong with drafting guys like Wolkow if you have the pieces in place and you think you can do the dev work on them. The problem comes when someone is trying to call them future starters on a playoff team, just because they are in the system, or even better, when they aren't even drafted yet, and apply them anyway.

Like the need to run into a thread where a seasoned professional doesn't think the White Sox will be good for years and correct everyone who agrees?
