Colson Montgomery has arrived
I know Timmy fell apart, but he was really good for a number of years. Way more so than most of the rebuild fodder.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
"Nothing wrong with..." "It's no worse than..." "If... It would be just about ideal" Such ringing endorsements.

Ah the classics. I love a good WTAF thread.

An ominous future...
Sure, and now someone making six figures doesn't make them rich either. Times have changed. Sports never seem to get hit.

Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
I need a crying react.

The Lenyn Sosa Thread
Call it whatever you like, and blame whoever, but the dude does have some serious mental lapses in the field.

An ominous future...
Eh. The first time I remember reading this was said about baseball was when Babe Ruth got a salary that was higher than the President of the United States, and the media had a field day with it.

They didn't pay for their infrastructure as much as they owned their employees and used the town to drain back the money they paid them, and then kicked them out if they no longer worked for the company. It was more of an indentured servant situation vs "support" of a town. We might not like it, but this is the system that exists, and until it is made illegal at the federal level, there will always be this structure to attract companies and jobs... and we all know that isn't going to happen.

FutureSox Top 30 Content
It is great to see the guys who were starters hopefully, who are now downgraded to relievers, able to be pushed down in rankings to adequately represent their falls in value. It is kind of sad how many guys fall into that bucket, but onwards and upwards.

I am going to guess with the amount of time left in the Sox deal at Sox Park, that $50 million will roll off right about the time the lease expires.

Company towns were horrible. The company owned everything and loaded it over employees.

Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
What did you think Houser was worth?

Robert stays...
That was so awkward. Like Luis was NOT here for this.

Getting anything for a dude that was an MiLB free agent this season is a win.

In a nice consumable small sized package so that even people who don't want to actually read something can understand it?

8/10 Cle at Sox
Ok so it was a little more pulled, but I think it was more of a line drive. Still I think it was close than 50 feet apart.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
I think it was a joke, but at best it was creepy.

8/10 Cle at Sox
That was to the concourse. That was every bit as far as the Borchard record

The question isn't the right question. You should be asking what happens if you don't offer incentives. This is exactly how Chicago recruited away a company like Boeing, and exactly why Motorola left the burbs.
