  1. Yes. Bullpen pitchers collect WAY more on the open market at the deadline than a bat first, non-defender type. We have seen this over and over again. Give me the prospects, all day, every day. And the real prospects, not the former top 50 guy who flopped in his first year in MLB after being exposed.
  2. Walking into the greatest NBA player of all time was the thing ever to happen to the long term health of the Bulls and the White Sox.
  3. When he is yours, he is a "gamer" and a "grinder" and has a high baseball IQ.
  4. Obviously getting guys like that into the system is step 1, but step 2 is getting them to be successful major leaguers. I believe step 4 is profit, so Jerry is probably not happy about that order.
  5. If we end up on the downside of these guys, heads should roll. They won't, but they should, because this rebuild just got kneecapped. Taylor ended up in the pen already is a bullet in the foot.
  6. Their pitching is all about what the big 3 starters are doing at AAA. I said it before, but their AAA rotation is probably better than their MLB one. I fully expect at least one of those guys, possibly all three, to be part of the rotation by September call ups. If it's not, we are fucked.
  7. Eh, don't ready too much into one game. They will be better this year. If they are worse, a LOT of things went really wrong, and my 2030 prediction might actually be in trouble.
  8. Or that pro sports operate on a different plane than the lines of business he was in. After almost 50 years of this, you think he would have caught on, but dude is still here trying to recreate the Brooklyn Dodgers.
  9. I don't think anyone WANTS it, but also, welcome to reality.
  10. I love dark mode. It is so much better than light.
  11. For PCA. Heywood was a full FA contract. They are structured very differently The front years will be a million or two. Half the deal will be the last two years.
  12. Based on the years they bought out, you are probably only talking about at most 2 to 3 expensive years.
  13. The sad thing is after 2024, it isn't even top 5.
  14. He would have made a ton more by having the Sox franchise value going up by another billion dollars.
  15. He would have made more by investing in the SP500.
  16. The last blurb was something about bullpen for 10 weeks. That takes us to the middle of June. If he still needs to build innings, that takes more time.
  17. Based on the latest timeline, you may well have to wait until around the all star break.
  18. Here's the thing. By going cheap over thousands and millions, he's probably cost himself hundreds of millions in franchise value. Jerry is the definition of pennywise, pound foolish.
  19. The one "bright" spot is helping the Brewers is actively hurting the Cubs, so at least my inner-Machiavellian is happy.
  20. YOUR RECORD BREAKING CHICAGO WHITE SOOOOOOOX!
