  1. It is exactly why Jerry has never been willing to have a President of baseball operations like almost every other franchise in baseball.
  2. It signals they have no long term plans. This is patch work to stay in the end of the playoffs ceiling mode.
  3. For my two cents, we talk about the Shields deal in terms of sending a really young unproven prospect in return for an older, low ceiling pitcher, and then even with the regime change, just did the same thing again in the Fajardo/Boozer deal. We want to talks about making unforced errors, let's do it. Also keep in mind that when we added Boozer, they weren't looking to try to get to the playoffs, just not getting to another historic loss season, so the trading of young players was even more absurd.
  4. The oh so profitable Bulls are more worried about getting expiring deals to free up cash versus getting some picks to actually do something here.
  5. Still no draft picks? Come on.
  6. Our player development was historically bad. I don't see why it is so crazy to think that a team that failed so completely at that job, would be able to do that, and more. But since we are still adjudicating it, here we are.
  7. Chris, in interviews in his previous role, praised that group for how much freedom he got.
  8. The funny thing we don't even know that Shirley is still here because Getz wants him, or because his contract hasn't run out yet, since Jerry still isn't giving him the keys to the organization fully. He still is facing the same things that took down the last administration in the form of little handcuffs from ownership.
  9. Weird. Fire the interns.
  10. It really is. Despite ignoring someone's personal attacks for years, it still happens. Hopefully this drops, but I doubt it. Either way, I tried.
  11. And this is exactly why Soxtalk has gotten to where it has.
  12. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6989271/2026/02/02/mlb-offseason-grades-takeaways-2026-predictions/?fbclid=IwdGRjcAPuK09jbGNrA-4q3WV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHiBw0Sp5MC43rRIbpMaT84K3JOaGjdfdo8qIMYrs0cf2GqK0IrOyhvAsXBba_aem_AXhEhyarSST3QWVb3C_IKg&redirected=1
  13. Good god, can we not ruin every single thread when someone dares to question Chris Getz?
  14. I don't think anything BIG will happen, but there is definite window dressing that needs to be done, and there are plenty of guys out there who could fit that bill.
  15. That's all I see. Honestly, it is the reason every conversation turns into this. It feels like Getz can do no wrong, and if he did, it is someone else's fault. Bring up the past, and you are "dunking" on someone. Anytime Getz gets questioned, the thread turns into this.
  16. Luckily no one associated with the team now played any part in that.
  17. I am also going to note, that Frank has always been sensitive and moody. If anyone was going to get upset from being excluded, it was going to be him. Even if he is right here, he was always going to notice.
  18. Or just another Monday for a Jerry owned organization.
  19. It's wild because I used to think that we ran one of the most color blind organizations out there, and it didn't really matter what you looked like, we hired whoever fit best. A mistake like this seems like a big one though, especially in an organization with established and long term leadership in the PR department. How do you not know that a guy like Frank Thomas should be one of the first people you mention in a black history month context? This is the easy stuff.
  20. Look, if your roof leaks, you don't blame the rain for finding a weak point to get through. You fix the roof.
  21. Keith Law had the highest ranking for the Sox system out of the major publications.
  22. Now where I have heard that one before.
