  1. Congratulations, you just described the last 5 years under Jerry... and we still didn't spend.
  2. Tier, by definition, is more than one team. Trying to make the Sox look better, by pointing strays at teams in much smaller markets just makes the point of how bad the Sox have been. Even their biggest contract of the winter (a massive 40 billion, no wait, million) almost didn't happen until the front office went into Jerry’s office and begged him into signing a deal somewhere around 15 to 20% of initial expectations. This is one of last remaining teams in MLB to not have a single nine figure deal, again, bottom tier. Feel optimism all you like, but don't gaslight the obvious.
  3. Love him or hate him, he is one of the best ever.
  4. Absolutely. One more, "Baby, I can change! This times it's different! " just isn't enough anymore.
  5. That's fucking petty
  6. Here's the thing. Whatever measurement they are using, they are using the same one for all 30 teams. The most insane thing is that the White Sox have been so completely run into the ground, that literally the only team in MLB that they are ahead of in this revenue measure is Oakland. That's it. A team that literally doesn't have a major league park to play in, nor a city to call its own for years is the only team we beat. That's a god damned embarrassment and the perfect statement to the person who has run this show for 45 years now.
  7. Which means the Sox have passed on him at least twice.
  8. It's just as easy to say you are only seeing what you want to see. Be positive, no one cares. Don't tell me what to think.

Either way, I am not paying money to the White Sox organization to do the job of people who should be doing this things themselves. That's gaslighting.

Is the open Q&A even a thing anymore? I thought I remembered reading it was not done anymore.

I am definitely curious to see if last year was an anomaly, or if the firing of Katz might have been related to this. Of course we will never know the latter, as our local media is too scared to ask such a question.
  12. I wouldn't count on Bush until the ASB.
  13. I would assume a MiLB deal with an invite? Hasn't been "good" in years. Anyone have background? Injury or just not good?
  14. Caleb to the Da Bears, confirmed.
  15. You got to the point in the end. It isn't a "choice" of drafting a star. Even drafting in the middle of the first round isn't a promise that you will get a starter, let alone a star, and you even put a great list of busts together to prove the point. You can go through most teams 1st round picks and find this out. If the Sox get a no bat, defensive whiz out of Billy Carlson at pick 10, they did their job, and came out ahead of expected results.

    You won't until spring
  17. Yes, I have standards. Congratulations on finally figuring it out. Now ask yourself why after you made this list talking about continuing to rage post reply to all of my posts, you spend so much time obsessing over me. Is it either you enjoy unhappiness , your standards are too high or you need another team that meets your standards. Remember, no one is forcing you to be unhappy.
  18. Literally the only good reason to grab a guy like this is with the hope of flipping him at the deadline, and well to be honest, we have all seen what the price of flawed OFs at the deadline looks like the past few years.
  19. Yeah, I don't even mean it as a real comp, but more of the poster child for a stud defender that you hope his bat catches up with.
  20. I hear his description and I instantly thought of Royce Clayton, wherein on the years that his bat carried, he was one of the better SS's in the game, but when it couldn't the glove did the talking.
  21. If this team was even a long toss within .500 I would care more about the actual make up of the roster. With three straight 100 loss seasons, and the predictions looking really damned close to a 4th, these years are all about finding who will be on your next decent team. Bader, will not.
  22. It is so outrageous to have a negative opinion on a franchise that is on it's third straight 100 loss season, has never signed anyone to a nine figure contract, and has one of the lowest rates of being in the playoffs of any original franchise.
  23. Counterpoint: You don't have to happily accept terrible baseball. You are allowed to have standards.
