  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) lol there was a headline earlier, on Huffpo or something, saying "Conan O'Brien set to be unemployed" and I thought uhh he hardly qualifies as being "unemployed" when he just got $33 million or whatever his portion of that is. A week after the payout, he can file.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) I don't want corporations OR unions running the government. This ruling is just an all-around epic failure. Pretty much. But until something changes with unions and corporations being recognized with the same rights as people, this was the only way the ruling could go. There has to be some work done at the Congressional level.
  3. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Or perhaps young people are generally ignorant morons who get the government they deserve. I can't argue with that logic.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 09:39 AM) It's official. Corporations will now run this country...even though they pretty much already have been. The amazing part of this is that I had no idea unions were getting free reign now too. I guess I need to go back to reading some right wing news, because you are are awful sources .
  5. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 10:25 AM) Nearly 6 out of every 7 registered voters in Massachussets under the age of 30 stayed home on Tuesday. Wow. That is just pathetic.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 08:55 AM) haha i figure it's only right for me to be the one to post this: John Edwards is a douchecock What is there to understand? Your daughter was less important than your political career.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 07:19 AM) Do you not see the inherent bias and question-begging here? As opposed to the exact same thing on the opposite side?
  8. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 07:40 AM) Even if he played 150 games this year, he still does not get to 600 home runs. He is a wonderful person, but we have to move on, he has not figured out how to beat the shift and soft tossing lefties make him look bad. We don't need to bring him back to chase 600 anyway. If have to believe he can help us win. The rest doesn't matter.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 07:56 AM) Right all along? Hard not to be when you manage to argue both "The Sox are cheap and won't spend" and "The Sox have money for other players, see Rios, Peavy". Easy to be right when you are on both sides of the argument. Not to mention the argument has been completely destroyed in detail.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) Letterman has been getting dirty towards Leno with name calling and such the past week. I don't really think Letterman should have a say in all this since I never found him funny and his show always lost to Leno, but Jay bit back tonight. “Letterman has been hammering me every night. Going after me… hey Kev, you know the best way to get Letterman to ignore you? Marry him. He will not bother you. He won’t look you in the eye.” Letterman is just trying to hit the ratings.
  11. QUOTE (Drew @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) I want Niemi starting. You can tell the guy cares and is trying hard, and he's got a flair for the big game. If Huet is in goal against Detroit last Sunday, the Hawks are down by four at second intermission. Huet is a guy who has a knack for making games far more interesting than necessary. In the mid-90s at the beginning of Detroit's dynasty, Chris Osgood was young and unproven, yes. What did Detroit do? They went out and picked up Mike Vernon, who split the regular season goaltending duties in the regular season and started in the playoffs. He won one on his own in '97, and for the next run, Detroit went out and got Dominik Hasek, at the time the most elite goaltender in the league. I don't remember Osgood spending whole periods on his knees building snowmen in the crease or letting in at least a soft goal or two by either playing out of position or general apathy. Buy out Huet, send him on a bus to Rockford, and get someone like Giguere to mentor Niemi. I can't stand Huet, I want his ass fired already. You don't remember Osgood giving up goals on essentially dump ins from a step inside center ice?

  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) Can we all agree at least that Tim Tebow is a giant tool, regardless of this issue? I can see how being kept from never existing would have a pretty powerful impact on how you would view somethings...
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) No, you or Kap get asked for specifics and support and you flail about without ever providing it. The response is always "OMG how can you not know?! It's so obvious!" edit: if you're going to put forth an argument, be prepared to support it. Assertions aren't evidence. No. This has been going on for years. It is a pretty recent thing where I have gotten bored with doing the work to back up statements to be ignored in favor of whatever blog is being quoted at the time. I am sick of wasting my time on evidence that is ignored. And to be quite honest, if you really wanted to know, it is a google click away. It isn't like the olden days where you have to go the library. Its just a way of e-strutting to show off.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) Do you ever get an actual response when you ask for data, corroboration, specific examples, etc? I know Huffpo usually does all of the work for you guys, but I am kind of sick of it. Honestly anything I post that doesn't agree just gets ignored or randomly disqualified anyway.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) Didn't all our games start at 7:05 before the 7-11 deal? They were listed as 7:05, but first pitch was actually 7:07 for TV purposes.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 06:51 PM) "My 2010 Offseason Wish List: Adrian Gonzalez, BJ Upton, Carl Crawford, Adam Dunn, Johnny Damon Avenue Current White Sox newbies Mark Teahen, Omar Vizquel, Andruw Jones, JJ Putz, Juan Pierre. . ." looks like someone was aiming a little too high Or was a little too high...
  18. Despite what you have been told, size always matters.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) Which one? White chocolate.
