Maybe he's just so excited about Kannapolis he got mixed up, but either way it's not a big deal because it is so great!

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Again, obviously none of this is a surprise or even a deal breaker. Why it is being drama queened is beyond me. I am sure with its industrial and manufacturing history, I am sure the Southside is loaded with brown and superfund sites where work like this is way more common than you would ever want it to be. Yet, here we are building a modern sports facility on the site, just like I said could be done.

This is why mediocre to bad walk numbers are a big red flag

Nice. Hopefully mid is more 3rd than 5th, but the cap space is nice, the pick is a bonus.

MLB.com Top 30
The Sox have a couple of really important pieces of business this season. #1 is getting Dutch and Hagen back on track as front end starters. #2 is finding MULTIPLE front line players in this draft. Not only getting a future superstar at the top of the draft, but using the extra money from the top of the draft to get multiple first round pick level players into this system, plus something else valuable at the end of the draft with the overage. This is such a pivotal year for the rebuild.

Benetti's new job...
I will leave on an NCAA basketball game with two teams I have zero interest in, just because he is calling it.

Benetti's new job...
I will be honest, it might have gotten him in the door at the beginning, but it is no where near why he is one of the best in the business. I can't think of another person in sportscasting who has the versatility that he does. He sits down in three different sports and sounds like he does any particular one of them all of the time. He's sits down with different partners and sounds like he has been on the air with whoever it is, forever. He has a light touch, and is perfectly willing to get his partner engaged as much as possible. Dude is one of the best in the business.

OD 26 Man Roster Projection
The only way you dump Benny is if you take on another bad contract in return. If he was a free agent, what kind of deal would he get? Looking at his offensive numbers and adding to it he is borderline unplayable in LF for a team with aspirations, would he even get a true major league deal? Dude is a replacement play who can't play defense. He doesn't hit enough to hide at DH or 1B. Cut him and move on. He's a waste of space for the White Sox.

Also with this being a retirement, how does this do the Bears with the cap? Obviously they lose the salary, but does the signing bonus all get shoved into this season now?

But does he meet the minimum standards to be allowed to compare the stadiums?

Yeah, this. I mean it seems obvious to understand the flaws in a simplistic stat when you apply it to the actual team playing the games. Teams with historically awful bullpens underperforming pythag seems obvious to me. Teams making lots of errors also seems obvious. It's an easy way to turn a close game into a loss. Again, I think improvement should happen this year, but there this team still has more holes than an aerated golf course. It's trending, but as a whole, there is still a pretty ugly talent gap between where the Sox are, and where they need to be to be respectable. The most important things for this team going forward are still mostly in the minors, a few maybe even in college or high school.
