  1. Freddy Garcias outing against the Twins which was marred by Jaques Jones. (Aug 23)
  2. Also for those who have not seen the comics, the great majority are not really "offensive" in a laymans sort of way. Only a couple are really outrageous. They are really hard to find on-line, but here is someone who has them up. http://sabbah.biz/mt/archives/2006/01/11/freedom-of-racism/
  3. It was only a matter of time until someone tried this...
  4. QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) I saw this on Fox News. I couldn't find it online, though. Nice job, Steff. Now, on to the f***ing idiot: What the f*** is wrong with people? Just one little bump into someone and POW the airbag is gonna kill that kid. Some bodyguard sitting next to her, huh? :headshake :headshake :headshake FYI Google news search is awesome for stuff you hear on the radio/TV and want a link for. I use it all of the time.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) Bmac's fastball had a ton more movement on it when he came back up for the 2nd stint. His arm angle was all out of sorts when he first came up hence why he wasn't throwing his change at all and why his fb was as straight as an arrow. I don't know who saw his pitching clinic and who did not at Soxfest, but he said the reason he was pitching so badly at that point in the season was that his arm angle had faded downwards. Brandon said he is most successful when his arm angle is fully over the top and he is throwing straight downhill. His length makes the pitch gets on the hitter quicker, and all of his pitches come out of the same arm angle, so he also has that deception working for him.
  6. There were some great starts, don't get me wrong, but the whole post season could have changed based on Hernandez's outing in the ALDS. That might have been the most incredible inning of pitching I can ever remember.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) If the Bears were in this game I'd have been going nuts too. When its your team you could care less if its boring, especially when you end up winning. And the sad thing is, as sloppy as that game was, it was a trademark type of game that the Bears would have found a way to win. Turnovers, dropped passes, missed assignments... It has Bears written all over it.
  8. GMs annual board meeting is taking place right now in Detroit, and they have taken a few actions to try rectify their balance sheet problems. For one, I never realized how big the dividend that they paid out was.... Also the CEO is taking a 50% paycut.

  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) Everytime I check the news this story seems to be getting worse and worse. WTF people! It's just a cartoon. The problem is that isn't nearly as simplistic as you make it out to be. ANY dipicition of the Prophet is forbidden by Islam, as they forbid any idolitry, and they feel that to prevent this, you have to prevent his image from being shown. And on top it, some of the cartoons were as insulting as any of the worst sterotypes that you can image for any ethic group. Think of the caractures of the slanty eyed Asian, the gangster Italian, the Tonto Indian, the black charactures during the 19th century, etc. It isn't as simple as being JUST a cartoon. This is a combination of two mortal sins of idolitry and blasphemy.
  12. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) You just said "so much for a 'religion of peace.'" Does that mean every time Pat Robertson calls for the assasination of a foreign leader, we can rightly say the same about Christianity? QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) Christian thugs blow up abortion clinics, shoot doctors, and kill homosexuals. So much for a "Religon of Peace" Except I don't believe it, of course. They may be thugs alright, but theor acts are far from Christian. Now you can go back to painting the world with that wide-ass brush you like to use. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) And bombing abortion clinics, shooting doctors, taking photos of people and plates of cars that go into clinics and publishing them, etc. Mmmmm... I think he is drawing the comparison that we've got plenty of ready to be violent religious fundies in our own country that it makes no sense to denigrate one group while avoiding others. Its funny, but everytime anything republician gets defended by something a democrat did in office prior we get ripped on for changing the subject and/or arguement. But everytime Islamic terrorism gets brought up, it gets explained away or the subject gets changed to Christian fundimentalism every single time. I guess this is either the "they all do it"ing of religious arguements, isn't it? Funny how that works.
  13. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 08:56 AM) This thread has turned gayer than the Village People doing interpretive dance to Liza Minnelli songs with Richard Simmons. Hey what you do in the privacy of your own bathroom...
