  1. Bump* I know RockRaines and RobinVentura23 also talked about this... Any other opinions?
  2. Harriet Miers is her name, and (are you ready for this?) she has zero judicial experience, having served as a private practice attorney for 29 years.
  3. With the BS of the game being at 3pm, are there people who would like to get together and pick a bar to watch Game One at?
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) Now see, you and I should go into business together. A CPA and a lawyer. Now that sounds like a bad joke intro. LMAO! Congrats! What do you call 1000 lawyers/CPAs on the bottom of the ocean? A good start!!!! bahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Anyways, congrats on a hell of an acheivement!!!
  5. Who would have though Brant Sizemore's flyball drop in KC would end a season so quickly? Congrats to the Sox, and another helluva a pitching preformance from the young stud, Brandon McCarthy
  6. Who is going for the Red Sox against Contreras?
  7. Not a chance... the Astros are my second favorite team.
  8. What a ride it has been. Just reflecting back on 2005, I have been a Sox fan as long as I have been alive, and I don't ever remember seeing a season with such an incredible range between the ups and downs. And all we need now is 11 more wins to make it the best season that any of us have EVER seen, or possibly ever will see again. Regardless I am so proud of the boys this year. There is no where near the talent that we have seen for a few years now, yet these guys have such a deep burning desire to just win. It almost doesn't seem real even today. I'd like everyone to take a chance to revel, reflect, glow, etc. Talk about your memories so far of 2005, your individual stories, your ups and downs etc. I think it would be a cool thread to see 2005 through the eyes of Soxtalk
  9. From the Trib
  10. QUOTE(TLAK @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) Take away the double and the single Marte gave up facing 5 batters and he was lights out. Marte's role is more valuable than the one El Duque would probably fill, but if you can't trust him then you can't use him and you might as well not bring him along. Did any else notice in the box that Marte got a hold (he left with the lead) and Hermanson got a blown save for coming in with runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs and allowing one run? Correct scoring but no justice. One more reason the blown save is COMPLETE bulls***.
  11. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) hmm two good backgrounds and one computer... what to do... I have the exact same problem. You and Goldy are so incredible at that.
  12. I guess no one wanted to take on the workplace safety implications
  13. Damn Heads, we are going to have to put you on the bench for the day, and stick a scrub out there to save you for the playoffs... Ozzie saids so, he makes the f***ing game threads
  14. I'd be willing to bet that gets skewed by the people who only go to a few games a year, which are the higher attended games, which tend to be against the teams with better records... meaning more losses. Nice work thought TLAK
  15. Do you like like your presents? AL Central title, AL home field advantage??
  16. So much for Ozzie owing to the Yankees and Red Sox to field a competative team LMAO.
  17. Go. And if you are 21+ stay at the hotel and hang out at the bar at night. Good times...
  18. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) I didn't switch my identity. Someone else switched it for me after I made a comment saying that I thought about legally changing my real name to Rex Kickass. I could keep either name. So I put it to you, the electorate. I also don't like the way that Rex refuses to take personal responsibility for himself. He always has to blame someone else for stuff. Wino never did that... :headshake
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) I heard about that. Something about a cuddling-induced rage...... Now Wino on the other hand is Mr All-America. He buys his friends beers, volunteers to feed the poor.
  20. Someone told me that Rex is a [gasp] communist and he HATES America... Plus he kicks puppies... CUTE puppies.
  21. MY problem is for the employees. What obligation the employer have to protect its workers if it promotes an enviornment that isn't healthy? Any plants where you are surrounded by hazardous materials, OSHA requires that reasonable protections be in place. For example a nuclear power plant can't just send someone into the reactor core without a protective suit, a steal mill has to give breathing mechanisms to people who work in areas where coal dust is prevelent... etc. Why doesn't OSHA force these kind of institutions protect waiters/resses, bartenders etc, from being exposed to the conditions that cause lung cancer? Easy, they are on the lowest end of the pay scale, and don't have union protection to fight for them. There is no reason that these people don't deserve the same clean work enviornment as anyone else.
  22. Steam- "Kiss him goodbye"
  23. The interesting thing that I heard was that they still want Frank to have his ankle elevated to prevent swelling, and that is why he wasn't traveling with the team.
  24. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) You can "count" on him come on.... thats just priceless... just like me. Don't give up your day job... AND GO WRITE SOME NEW PORKCHOP! BTW a random thought... How much fun would Bartolo vs Jose be in game one?
