High Stakes: Williams Should Be Let Go . . .
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) We lost over the last few years because of a lack of an option at the 5 starter and problems in the bullpen. If you take this pitching staff and insert them on those teams 2003, 2004 they run away with the division. And you have a $120 million payroll, which isn't happening here with a middle of the pack attendance, so that is an impossible scenario right off of the bat. Also I caught someone talking about the Indians payroll not going up by much next year, to which there was a couple points to adress. #1 the Indians had a big payroll under Jacobs ownership, the group that bought the team a few years ago has shown no indications they are going to increase the payroll excessively. #2 With all of the players that are having big years and are young are going to start seeing their salaries increase exponetially. Guys like Martinez, Hafner, Crisp, Lee, Brousard and company are heading into their arbitration years. Guys like Kevin Millwood and CC Sabathia are WAY underpaid when compared to what guys got in the free agent market before this year. They also could be having to replace key guys out of their bullpen who will be free agents, in a year when the Yankees and Red Sox will be again desparate for relief help and bidding up ordinary pitchers. The Indians are going to be getting expensive quick, and that is just to keep their own players. And if their attendance doesn't increase quickly, they won't be able to afford it.

The Rally Crede
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Joe Crede is one of the worst players in all of baseball. He deserves no such praise. Give me something else to rally to. Then scoot along and vacate the thread, the rest of us want to have some fun.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) This is the funniest thread ever. At least in Palehose. This is an instant contender for thread of the year in the Soxtalk awards. This is right up there with the McDonaldland thread, IMO

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) The owner here gets laid and has regular bowel movements. Could be why we're not quite so anal about threads. Sorry, you didn't edit your post correctly, and I fixed it for you.

Hurricane Rita.
QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) I'm more worried about tonight's game I always have plenty of survival type stuff on hand because of the camping I do. My water filter is ready to go, plenty of propane and white gas for my stoves, some dehydrated meals, and three white sox fan phone numbers for updates. Hey Kap, remember my cell number if I'm calling, and don't side button me like you usually do :-) Between you and Kap, first one to Michigan City gets the spare bedroom

Hurricane Rita.
QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) That's good news, I can hardly contain my excitement The one that was suppose to hit us, passed south; any bets the one that's suppose to miss us is going to hit us? That one had you guys at the dead center of the track, this time you guys are on the far southern end, but the storm track has been moved about 3 hours south. Whereever it lands, I just hope for the best, because it is blowing up quick. The pressure is dropping, the eye is tightening, and the storm is intensifying, all at an alarming rate. And this is still with a few days until projected landfall. The bullseye seems to be on the Port Lavacca/Victoria Texas area, but if I were anywhere between Port Arthur and South Padre Island, I would be scared out of my mind right now.

Hurricane Rita.
For a visual of how fast this thing is blowing up, here is the radar loop. Look how much bigger, and how much more red there is in Rita, in just the short period of time on the loop This thing is going to be HUGE! http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USNationa...v=none&pid=none

Hurricane Rita.
Get it now, seriously. Even if you don't use it, if people start to think they need it, there will be a run on everything. Plywood, nails, batteries, generators, waters, canned food, and ice will all be gone.

Marte in a key situation. you have got to be f***ing kidding me, Caution all the Rally Crede's cannot overcome stupid managerial moves. Oh good lord THIS THREAD IS A JOKE!!!! Don't you get that? I thought it was obvious. Now run along and play somewhere else, some of us would like to do something other than throw temper tantrums and pouting.

Idaho sues big companies..............
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) If you want to stop illegal immigration, there is only 1 method to do it...go after the employers who hire the immigrants. Right now, there's a huge advantage to hire them...you can employ them for below minimum wage and avoid paying attention to other workplace safety rules. There has been basically no effort by any agency to slow this practice down. If there were a genuine reason for companies to not hire illegals...then suddenly, the jobs for illegals may very well dry up. As would the incentive to come here illegally.
