  1. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Hes still an injury risk. How dominant would he be playing at ben wallace's size? Ummm bad heart>>>>>bad back
  2. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) He also averages about a facial per game... How can anyone be that tall and play so f***ing soft??? Ask Eddy the same question...
  3. I just noticed we forgot about Tmar, who is turning 7 today,
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) When Carl was in Texas, the team loved him and had a bunch of great things to say about him. All his negative press was during his Red Sox days. Exactly, he got the Boston chopjob just like Pedro and Nomar did. Boston's ownership took him down, and nothing bad has been said about him since then.
  5. There is an old saying... You can't win a division in April, but you sure can lose it.
  6. And not just Freddy Garcia, but Garcia at $9 mil/yr for 3 years. Look around the FA market last season and try to tell me that someone would not have paid at least 4-$48 (or higher) to get Freddy.
  7. It was Robin, until he retired. Now it would probably be Carlos or Ray.

  9. Do you think the Twins are regretting losing Koskie and Guzman yet?
  10. So much for a let down... Brandon
  11. Happy Birthday ZOOM!!!
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) But this year we have Bmac as insurance. I guess we just can't have two guys go down. And the bullpen is waaaay better than what he started, and ended, the season with. I can't tell you how many games that pen will give us as compared to the last few years.
  13. Howdy ya'll, I'm George W Bush, and I approve this thread.
  14. I have no problem bringing the guy in to compete for the 3rd PG spot. If he is anywhere near what he used to be, he is way better than Frank Williams or Piatkowski. If not, we cut him.
  15. INteresting about the myth of the 500 foot HR (poor Joe Borchard)
  16. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Abdur Rahim has NEVER been on a good team.... brining him here would be a mistake. Which is the cause and which is the effect? Is it just SAR is always brought into bad teams, or teams fall apart because of him?
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) And how close were the Sox to signing him this off-season? For a day or two there, It sounded like he was picking out a locker on the Southside...... That was one deal I was THRILLED we didn't make. The guy has Esteban Loiaza written all over him.
  18. The Critic's contributions to all message boards of teams who are suffering from closer collapses.
  19. Jim is opening 2005 as the #1 starter for a deep Birmingham Barons team. He pitched their opener only giving up a 3 run HR over his first start.
  20. Jeff is opening 2005 as the closer at AAA Charlotte for his first full season with the Knights.
  21. Actually I am thinking a sign and trade deal might be perfect. They obviously have a great defensive front court, now they need a guard who can defend, and someone who can score from the front court. Actually the sign and trade involved Abdur Rahim might work.
  22. I know this is kind of a wild thought, but the Bulls are 5-1 without the guy going down the playoff stretch. Their only loss was to the top team in the East Miami. Could Eddy's money be better spent on a couple of players, such as a scoring PF and a defensive SG?
  23. He looks just like Joe Crede
