  1. Like I said, one of two things is happening. #1 there is a fight for the heart of the White Sox between Jerry and the rest of the front office. Jerry has Ozzie, and the other guys want to actually do their jobs and get as many opinions about what is going on in the organization so that first off they hire the guy who fits this roster best, and secondly they learn as much as they can about the outside view of the White Sox, and ways to fix the problems. Meanwhile, Jerry thinks he knows best, and may well overrule his front office, again. #2, the Sox are playing 4D chess and running a fairly sophisticated misinformation program where they are using their sources to get out false flags to successfully run a subterfuge around who they actually want to talk to. They are throwing guys like Ozzie out there to keep the "sources" and fans busy while guys like Grifol and Mendoza fly in under the radar, both giving them some cover in their own organizations, as well as allowing the Sox to operate the search without a lot of information out there about it. It also could be something where they are feeding these rumors to specific people to see who is a leaker, and to know who they can trust in the future, and who they cannot, but to also still get tons of misinformation out there to hide their true intentions. To be fully honest, I really don't have any idea what is actually going on. I am afraid it is #1, but really hoping it is #2.
  2. I have noticed that the neighborhood stuff is way down in numbers, and am wondering if that is why.
  3. Moncada had a 76 OPS +. Grandal was 64. I would bet that they both improve considerably when you look at how big of outliers 2022 were, especially when you only have to go back to 21 to see a huge difference.
  4. Revisit what? Grandal's 2021, or 3 times in 4 years with an OPS of over .800 before that? Moncada's 2019? Even his 2021 was a 4 war season
  5. Their numbers show quite different.
  6. Watching the last two years sure doesn't show that.
  7. The problem is it should be zero.
  8. And his best way to do that would have been to stick to baseball knowledge on TV, and not opening campaign for another man's job thus showing he still is egotistical and untrustworthy when it comes to working as a part of a team.
  9. I don't think Ozzie is man enough to check his ego at the door and deal with a boss. Hell that was his biggest problem a decade ago.
  10. A few years ago, I could have bought in to this. But this franchise just handed a job to quite literally the worst possible candidate in Tony LaRussa, knowing all of his baggage. The benefit of the doubt is gone for me.
  11. I really hope this is 4D chess to hide what they are really trying to do instead of Jerry flipping over the checkers table again to get his way.
  12. You ever hear the phrase contraindicator?
  13. No it won't. Doing stupid stuff over and over again isn't interesting.
  14. If the White Sox really do hire Ozzie again they really are as bad as Balta believes. That's about the worst thing I can think of. At least I will save money on baseball again for the near future.
  15. This is what I keep telling myself. If they were going to do something monumentally stupid like hire Ozzie, they could have just gone and done it. The longer it goes the more it seems like not someone on the inside.,
  16. I laughed too hard at this.
  17. Most of the time he wasn't sprinting.
  18. Nightengale posted it like a week or so before hand, and everyone laughed at it. Then it came back up and people started freaking out.
  19. It is pretty early to have been drinking this much.
  20. The last two seasons Eloy has played 139 of 324 possible games. Luis Robert has played in 166. If Luis is "injury prone", what does that make a guy who has played 20% less games the last two years? Someone else already took care of the Vaughn fallacy, so that one is safe.
  21. Let me say this much. There is nothing wrong with interviewing Ozzie. The guy's life has been baseball, and he is going to see things that the others don't, especially when it comes to the Latin kids. The body language, culture, ways to approach them etc are things that aren't the same as American raised kids. Bringing him in to talk about what he saw and what he would do could hold a lot of value, just like any of the guys they bring in. But don't fucking hire the guy. Jesus, do not hire that clown again.
  22. That article was worth it just for the phrase "penis-flicking prankster".
  23. So negotiations with players are illegal right now, but 12 teams have bid 100m. Ok.
  24. This. Both are insanely ripped. They might be in the wrong shape, but it isn't because of lack of work ethic. You don't just fall out of bed and look like that.
