QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) I'm gonna take a stab here. Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, and 2 out of Kansas City, Milwaulkee or Cincinatti. Some surprises here. Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Oakland, and Florida. 3 of the 4 have winning teams and still can't draw fans. If the teams ever go bad, they won't draw more than 10K a night. Tampa was just a huge mistake for a team. They either move to Orlando or fold that dump of a franchise.- What would you change.....
NFL style salary system and drug testing system. There are also at least 4 teams that need to go.- Sex in a can

You're all set Mr X, formerly Man of Steel, nee Anthony007.- Newborn tossed out of car window....
QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) My sister said people have been all over the news down there wanting to adopt him. A little light at the end of the tunnel for the little fella.. Its things like that, after stories like this one, that keep my faith in humanity.- One word
LMFAO!!! That went much funnier than I expected- Shingo Takatsu
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) I guess we all agree that Shingo is a one inning pitcher. Someone email Ozzie and make sure he gets the word. I think Oz knew it too, but with the pen they had last year, he really didn't have any choices. With all of the problems he really had to try to use him when he didn't want to.- Kenny already looking for trade in july
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Yes, but we all remember KW and Ordonez sitting together at the ballpark after the injury. Yeah, I guess you gotta start somewhere... and when Borass is involved, it usually ends badly. Just ask the Astros.- One word

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) The won't let us. Separation of Church and State and all. I don't even care who teaches it. Parenthood is a lesson just like anything else in life, and just like somethings, there are people who can't do it. We don't just give people the keys to a car and say "have at it", but yet anyone can raise a child. Its just sad really. That poor child.- music
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) I like pretty much anything but Rap. Somehow it doesn't seem like music when all you hear is "f*** this" "f*** that". Then why would you ever post on SLaP???- Jason Giambi
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) I usually don't boo baseball players but guys who are on steroids deserve to be booed. And to think, all the Black Sox did was take some extra cash. They are heroes compared to these meatsocks. Not even close. One group took money to lose games, one group took drugs to win games. That is a HUGE difference to me. Doesn't mean I like the cheaters at all, but they didn't throw games.- Newborn tossed out of car window....
I'm starting to think instead of abstence or protection, they need to start teaching about adoption. This is just sick.- Kenny already looking for trade in july
I like to see this. I remember when KW first got the job, all of the complaints about how he treated people. I think with him dealing face to face with these guys, it will help to make this team more cohesive, and if people leave it will tend to be on better terms.- Shingo Takatsu
QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) I think it's more of Shingo getting tired, than hitters figuring him out. Esp. when he had to throw more than an inning, Shingo lost his control, didn't hit his spots and then hitters got ahead in the count and hit him. I remember seeing the stats of how well Shingo did throwing less than 15 pitches, and how he didn't do nearly as well after 15 pitches. Another thing to keep in mind was the longer season in MLB. In Japan they play less games, and the added games he threw could also have affected Shingo. He could have "hit the wall" in August like some rookies are said to do esp in basketball, with the added games from college to the pros. I too agree that the 2005 pen was built to keep Shingo fresh, so he can keep his pitch count and innings down, and only go 1 inning at a time per save. He should be fine Couldn't agree more. Shingo only got hit when he worked more than one inning. With all of the adds in the pen, Takatsu will be fine. I would expect him to stay in the 2.50-3.00 era range.- Diaz to Japan???
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) McCarthy is not a viable option. If we see him at any point during 2005 our season is f***ed. Mistakes he gets away with at AA will end up in the seats in the Cell. I was big on BMac starting in Charlotte this year but now I'm thinking BHam. There is no room for Brandon at Charlotte anyway. There are at least 6 or 7 guys that could be starters there ahead of him. That might change if B keeps putting up the huge numbers at Bham.- Yahoo! NASCAR League
PM Queen Prawn and MrEye. Maybe try Kapkomet also. I don't know if those guys look over here...- ESPN Radio 1000 Reports....
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) He had a wrist injury in 02 I believe it was where they had no idea what caused it, and it cost him about all but like 10 games of the season. This past year, he pulled his achilles tendon, or something like that, and was out for 2 months. Those are about all the injuries I can think of for Nomar So both are tendon and/or ligament injuries. Interesting.- Duke/UNC Prediction
Ah yes, now I remember why I hate Duke. They have the most arrogant fans in all of basketball.- ESPN Radio 1000 Reports....

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Its the way the media is supposed to operate. Uncover any f***ing stone possible. If it were just little puppies believing every word from an authority then it'd suck ass. Its too bad that most investigative reporting of any consequence really went out for the most part with the Pentagon papers [god, I'm such a history nerd] in this country. Pretty much. Its a sad fact of life when the best investigative reporting goes into investigating each other instead of the s*** that goes on right in front of them.- Controversy
I don't want to hear anyone complain about the way Dan Rather got treated...- Power Outage
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) I never said we were better. I pick the Twins to win the division on the strength of their pen. But I don't believe we will finish 9 gms back either. I see the Twins as a low 90's W team & ourselves as a high 80's W team. But with a little luck & maybe some players realizing their potential (Garland, Crede) I believe winning the division is not out of the question. If Jurassic is doing well in the 1st half he'll become #2 on the depth chart to spell Dye & maybe allow Frank to come back more gradually. I see Gload primarily as insurance vs Pods in LF & as a late game PR replacement for Koney. I think it's going to happen much more often because the lop-sided scores & HR production will be down having lost Maggs & Lee. So with pythag theory, it is easy to see how it could be a 9 game swing even by your logic... If the Twins are 3 games better on paper, Sox under preform by their usual couple of games, and the Twins overpreform by their usual 4 or 5 games, there is your nine games... - What would you change.....
