  1. Talked about it, but never did. Borass is still being quoted in the papers re: Belt's pending FA. He was just in the Trib TH or FR.
  2. At Soxfest the year we got Jose and Cal, I told Eldred he was the most popular guy in Chicago right now (because he meant the end of Navarro) Ray Durham was sitting next to him and about fell off of the podium laughing.
  3. Geesh, I am starting to wonder if Baj is having mechanical problems or if he is having confidence problems after his messy stint up here?

You obviously weren't exposed to beer at a young enough age See my avy? That's me just short of 4 years old, drinking from my dads beer at Old Comiskey.
  5. I would imagine at least Ilya is playing in Europe. Last I saw a touch over 200 players have gone over there, or about 1/3 of the NHL.
  6. That was just brutal to watch today. Oh well, just one game closer to the #1 draft pick
  7. If you ask me (and no one did) the Red Sox have had the look of a beaten team since game one. Almost like they know that they can't be the Yankees in the playoffs, and as soon as the Yankees got ahead early, it was over.
  8. You do realize that the Pentagon is the spy capital of the world, right? Did you expect guided tours? Of course you aren't going to get all kinds of pictures. Any kind of information leaks could endanger lives and projects all over the world.
  9. Couldn't have said it any better myself. The destruction of another generation is taking place in front of our very eyes. And the world humanitarian and political structure lets out a collective :sleep It is so sad.

  11. They had to put screws in his elbow to stabalize it.
  12. Nope the all-star game determines home field...
  13. Yeah... But I can remember the George Brett era
  14. Welcome to Soxtalk!!!
  15. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writ.../02/hombre.rix/ Yeah I spelled it wrong... but Rix was 0-5 against the Canes in his career. He lost all 4 regular games, and a bowl game vs Miami. This was a write up from before this years game, which made him 0-5.
  16. Lotta Sox fans period. I have never made reservations this early, and I have always got the regular two night rate of $239. This is going to cost an extra $40.
  17. Maybe now that Ricks can't go 0-6, they can beat Miami next year...
  18. I've seen better pitching in my slow pitch softball league
  19. As a matter of a fact ticket prices have increased about 40% since 1999, according to the same web site. 1999 average ticket price $15.04 2004 average ticket price $21.56
  20. um 5 years ago is the late 90's dude. Look down this page there is an XLS chart of all baseball teams payroll since 1977. 1999 the Sox payroll was about $25 million 2000 the Sox payroll was about $35 million 2004 the Sox payroll was about $65 million all according to the same site. So according to that math, ticket prices had to go up by 250ish% to match the payroll increases. At worst ticket prices have about doubled (or a 100% gain) since that time. http://roadsidephotos.com/baseball/data.htm
  21. Yes, good call. I knew there was someone else I couldn't remember. Weaver refused to sign with us too.
  22. Update. They are out of the cheapest rooms for the two night package. The two nights start at $15 a night more now. Damn that filled up fast.
  23. I think it is probably more than that also. And still no front page news. There are headlines for Iraq, and suicide bombings/ excursions in Israel, but at least 70,000 people dead in genocide is worth nothing.
  24. Its nice to see Kris is on the comeback trail. If he could get it together, it would give us another arm that is closer to the majors.
