QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) That's cause Jason is in all the graphic scenes. I agree, great show. Anyone have thoughts on the murderer...? My wife and I both really dig the show, and we're bummed the season is almost over. We bacame big Alan ball fans with Six Feet Under, and I'm a life-long vampire junkie, so the combination was a good one. I believe they DID preview who the murderer was last night. . .

QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Nov 15, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Agreed 100%. My wife had company over one night. The last was in her 60's. The play-offs were on, and obviously during evefry single commercial break there were commercials for that stuff. The volume was also obviously 100x louder for them, so there I was diving across the room to turn the damn volume down every time. Agree as well. My young kids have got to be wondering what this Viagra stuff is for and why it's making all the grandpas and grandmas on teevee dance so much. Our local go-kart park is on my list as well for the same reason. Their peewee karts have cool sponsor paint jobs on them like real race cars - Hardees and Penzoil and the like. But why on earth would they also include a kiddie kart with a Viagra logo painted on it??

Sort of reminds me of the old John Lovitz SNL skit. I'M PICASSO!!

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) New girlfriend. Is that what you are asking your current girlfriend for? Awk. Ward.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) "You know what your problem is, it's that you haven't seen enough movies - all of life's riddles are answered in the movies." Steve Martin I suppose if it were Christmas, you'd hang ornaments on it!

QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) That's what the early word was, but since it was released in Europe (or just the UK), it has been being torn to shreads. I resisted the urge to see the Casino Royale remake for a long time because I thought it would be a disservice to the original noncanonical classic, but when I finally saw it I thought it was great, easily the best Bond since the Moore era. I was looking forward to another good film with the new release, but the early reviews don't look great.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) If I had one wish that I could wish this holiday season, it would be for all the children to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace. I believe that women should be placed on a pedestal. . . just high enough to be able to look up their dresses.

iPhones for the wife and I will probably be the extend of our Christmas giving to one another. Hopefully, the Mrs. also surprises me with a nice bottle of Rhum Clement VSOP or a similar fine sipping rum or single malt.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...0,7149583.story I thought this was just a radio jingle, I had no idea it was a real song from "The Fixx" The sooner they stop showing it the better. Its almost as bad as seeing Kelly Clarkson every other commercial during the 05 season and playoffs for the Ford commercial The Fixx pretty much only had two hits and that was one of them. Don't pretend you're too young to remember suffereing through them the first time around.

Very excited to hear this, but I really wonder what approach they will take. Will it just be a 90 minute super-episode that picks up the storyline for the hardcores who already know the show, or will they have to encapsulate a lot of backstory for newcomers? I personally hope they say screw the newcomers and cram in every obscure reference and nod to the series inside jokes they can. When my kids come to me asking for money, I tell them "there's always money in the frozen banana stand" and they look at me like I'm nuts. I love it.

Eat yourself plenty of scrapple. In fact, do everyone else a favor and eat it all!

When is it right for everything to taste like bacon?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 11:40 AM) I'm going to say something unpopular. Though I love the smell of bacon, I do not like the taste. Not a problem - I'm sure bacon-scented cologne can't be far off. -

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) why not bacon as a condiment? That's the American Spirit, right there. -

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) They are so much funnier than us I'd put the Grimace thread up against this one, but yeah, some funny $hit right there. -
Van Deiman's Land by U2 Honest Work by Todd Rundgren: I'm not afraid to bend my back I'm not afraid of dirt But how I fear the things I do For lack of honest work My family is lost to me They could not bear the hurt To see the state their boy is in For lack of honest work I hold no blame for anyone 'Twas I who did arrange To pay my union dues so I'd Not have to learn or change And when I was replaced, 'twas I Who started down the hill And drank away my savings 'til I couldn't stop myself The prophets of a brave new world Captains of industry Have visions grand and great designs But none have room for me They see a world where everyone Is rich and smart and young But if I live to see such things Too late for me they come I know I'm not the only one To fall beneath the wheel Such company can not assuage The loneliness I feel So many are resigned to be Society's debris But I will be remembered for The life life took from me For I'm not afraid to bend my back I'm not afraid of dirt But how I fear the things I do For lack of honest work

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 08:58 AM) Talk about bringing home the bacon . . . The whole damn home would already be bacon. It would be like Willy Wonka's factory, except for carnivores. -

The world would be a perfect place if everything was made of bacon. -
QUOTE (mreye @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) I agree - the front left tire looks a little low. Take care of that and you should be picking up chicks again in no time. Agreed. Mad props to the sweet ride Tex calls the "Second Base Machine"

I caught this yesterday and was floored to think this was all 30 years ago. I was 11 when it happened and I think it was really my first exposure as a kid to something truly horrific on such a large scale. Watching the show, some of the most amazing artifacts to me were the audio segments of Jones' daily drugged up loudspeaker ramblings and some of the candid audio of him and the inner circle as the final hours were unfolding and everything was falling apart for him. Very unsettling even after all this time.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Lol, in all honesty I want one of both when I have my own house. Or maybe 2 cats and a dog. Through almost no fault of my own, I have become Crazy Cat Lady. I had a cat and my wife had a cat when we got together, which wasn't so bad. Now, however, my wife and daughter feel the need to rescue every stray cat on the east coast of Florida, so we now have 5 cats.
