6-28 Games
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 08:35 AM) Time to move Guerrero up to AAA IMO. I agree, I think he makes his way up there after the AAA AS game on the 12th of july.

6-28 Games
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 10:21 PM) Talk about a dramatic improvement. 2016 Guerrero in AA, 73/108 BB/K ratio. 2017 Guerrero repeating AA, 19/100 BB/K ratio. If we can even just get Kopech, Hanson, Dunning and Guerrero to pan out as starters, whatever Giolito, Lopez, Fulmer, Stephens and Burdi becomes is just the cherry on top of the cake. I firmly believe our future rotation breaks this way in no order. Giolito, Rodon, Kopech, Guerrero, Hansen with Burdi, Lopez, Fulmer & Dunning forming the back end of the pen.

QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Jun 28, 2017 -> 06:27 PM) Meanwhile, the other 99.99%.... I'm not even saying time to panic on Collins, but come on, man. to be fair to DA; fathom asked for "Who is the last Major Leaguer to hit that poorly in their first year of pro ball out of college and turn into a productive hitter?". Fisk fits the description obviously a bit tongue in cheek but if you look at a lot of catchers selected in the top 10 rounds a fair amount of them struggle and its for reasons stated in this thread catching is hard, learning to catch in profeshional baseball is even harder especially when the vast majority of the industry thinks you'll be moved off it by the time you sign. So yes people should be looking at what Collins has done on his defensive game and feel good knowing that this kid has a great work ethic and could very well become an average to slighly above average Catcher. People seem to forget how Flowers was viewed when he first came over, it was offensive first with little chance to stick and if he does he'll be a butcher, the converse of that became reality. All i'm saying is catchers take the longest amount of time to develop its a reason why a lot of players get moved off their because organizations want their major league ready bats in the line-up ASAP, Harper is a recent example and for a sox legened look no further than Konerko. as for another productive hitter to answer Fathom's question: Mickey Tettleton, drafted in the 5th round age 22 @ A .243/.376/.357 the next year @ AA 231/.345/.349 before he got called up to Oakland side note, Tettleton is a player i've compared Collins to in the past in a number of conversations.

Red Sox Targeting Frazier?
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:46 PM) Oh I know but Sox have tried to get him for years. I just want to see people blame KW I honestly think all joking aside Swihart is a reasonable piece to come back for Frazier two of these five: Swihart, Beeks, Ball, Mars & Lin.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 09:31 PM) Kahnle velocity down tonight. Nice job of hurting his trade value, crap what a bum...release him... his ERA went up half a run...peripherals still look great, scouts aren't going to look at one bad outing and cap his value.

6/27 Games
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 08:22 PM) So far, the hitch in his swing is seemingly making a big impact on his ability to hit. If true, that's questionable scouting. I truly get the concern for his ability to hit but his defense has made a huge stride very few are questioning if he'll be able to maintain behind the dish and that is massive, If he works that hard on his defense i can only imagine how much dedication he is going to put in an area of the game that has come easy to him for most of his college career.

Season Preview: AZL White Sox
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) Just announced that Burger and Sheets will start in AZL, briefly, before going to full season ball. Looking forward to that low A line up with Gonzalez, Burger, Sheets and Micker.

Quintana
If Q is getting moved to the cubs I would think something like this gets it done Jimenez, Cease, Albertos & Caratini If the Braves want to get involved great. Maitan, Acuna, Gohara & Pache but by trading Q for either of those packages there will be no doubt that they won't compete till '20 at the earliest.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 03:11 PM) How about Hansen? Has he been good enough to warrant top 50, even top 25 consideration? if he finishes the year at his current pace and gets up a cup of coffee at AA i think he winds up on the back end of the top 100; 75+ range.
