  1. Casey Rogowski...wow that is a name i havent heard in ages
  2. QUOTE (GermanSock @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) Yes probably clearly the number one system. The system is a little on the risky side (moncada, kopech, giolito, cease) and there is still a lack of middle infield and catching prospects (if collins turns out to be more of a DH rather than a catcher) but every system has its holes and the upside and number of top prospects is off the charts. I would like for them to focus on BPA then MI, LHP & C in that order. Sox have an interesting catching core in the low minors in Collins, Zavala and Skoug. Would love to see Kelly(STL) or Ruiz(LAD) added to that mix. For MI it wouldn't surprise me to see them target players like Nicky Lopez (KC), Delvin Perez (STL), Kieboom(WAS), Lux(LAD), Arauz(HOU), Mateo(NYY). and for LHP outside of Sheffield(NYY) or Beeks(BOS), I think they're going to target young LHP like Luzardo(WAS), Duensing(LAA), Cabrera(TB)
  3. Its close between the Braves and the Sox. Mayo in his article today said "it's hard to imagine the White Sox not ascending to the top spot of that list." and Passan feels they're #1 as well. Burger/Sheets/Skoug/Gonzalez don't trend till after 11/12 in our system so I doubt they show up on the top 100 yet. As of today I would say yes we have the #1 system by virtue of having the #1 prospect in addition to the depth Hahn and Hostetler have cultivated over the last two drafts. If you go by BA's mid season ranking the braves have 9 sox have 7, but that's with Collins & Fulmer dropping off and Hansen and Dunning not getting any love when each has been among the best pitchers out of the '16 class. Looking forward to what pipeline pushes forward with.
  4. I really wished Quintana, Sale and Rodon were going to lead the sox to the post season sadly it didn't happen. Q was nothing but a pro, never b****ed or complained or showed his team mates up, while getting ND after ND. I will root for him on the north side.
  5. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 02:29 PM) Excited for the tank to get tankier. Plenty of position prospects on this list. Though early, I'm sure that will make some folks happy. Yeah full steam ahead on the tank. If the sox end up with a TOR like Singer or MI like Madrigal or say f*** it and get Beer, I trust Hostetler and his process thus far.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) Miguel Gonzalez and Mike Pelfrey could be included as well. QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Holland and Holmberg as well. fair enough let me amend Sure Things Robertson Frazier Swarzak Cabrera Spice It Up & Sell High Kahnle A. Garcia Didn't See That Coming Sanchez Abreu PTBNL or $Cash Considerations$ Pelfrey Holland Gonzalez Jennings Holmberg
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:39 PM) 4-7? I sure hope so, but that seems optimistic to me. The only "sure things" IMO are Robertson and Frazier. Probably Swarzak, too. Sure Things Robertson Frazier Swarzak Cabrera Spice It Up & Sell High Kahnle A. Garcia Didn't See That Coming Sanchez Abreu
  8. Future is bright, everyone here knows that not all prospects are going to pan out, but boy is our future rotation scary and an outfield of Robert and Jimenez is something to dream on. I expect 4-7 more trades before the deadline and I think we wind up with 2 more top 100 prospects when its all said and done. Additionally I think Fulmer falls off the top 100 but Hansen takes his place.
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) beautox good call on June 22 in other Q thread . " Cubs - Jimenez + Cease + Albertos" . Pretty damn close !
  10. Jeff Long at BP recent eyewitness account on Fulmer link
  11. I'm fine shipping Q across town for Jimenez, Cease, Albertos & Ademan
  12. I think it gets even more complicated after the deadline, should be interesting watching this evolve.
  13. I'd love to see a return of Torres, Sheffield & Mateo or Florial. That would also alleviate some of the yankees upcoming 40 man crunch issues.
  14. John Calvagno from notesfromthesally.com on his first look at Jake Burger link
  15. I think Melky gets shipped to a team like the royals for pieces like Samir Duenez & Nicky Lopez, both of them aren't highly regarded in their system but have some interesting tools. Even if the royals put Melky at DH thats a huge upgrade over Moss and if they spot him in LF that helps pick up the production by Gordon.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) I still don't think a Gavin Floyd comp for Lucas is far off at all. Floyd got a taste of the majors and then went to AAA the next year and had an ERA over 6. Both big guys with good fastball/curve combo with a lot of moving parts. I also think the same about him, Fulmer etc. that I do with a number of those Charlotte guys - I wouldn't mind seeing them in the majors to be around a major league staff. How many guys have we had come up this year that have looked better than their AAA numbers might indicate? Get them around our best coaches and away from whatever they are doing in Charlotte. Yeah I've been floating the Floyd / Halladay comp for a while, in Halladay's case he too had to completely rebuild his mechanics but at low A.
  17. QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) I can agree with those. But if we had Tatis, we'd be #1 for the next five years. If only...I can forgive Tatis as the FO last Hurrah to "go for it" it sucks, but it is what it is, I'm just glad the scouting department correctly identified the talent to begin with, thats a take away i can live with.
  18. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 02:14 PM) In no particular order.... Mil NYY Colo San Diego Atlanta Houston Boston 2 or 3 others are toss ups. Our top 4 teams are a collective 40 or so under .500. I know, I know this means nothing, but if they were 40 or so over .500 everyone here would be raving, including me. Our first rounders have hurt us, not counting Burger, of course. Milwaukees prospect have stalled as much this season as ours and they don't have near the high end. I agree with NYY, Colorado has graduated a ton of talent and Tapia is going to be off lists shortly and Pint well possesing elite stuff hasn't lived up the billing of the #3 pick. I could see how you might consider SD above our system in terms of low minor talent but thats questionable. Houston's system has taken a hit with graduations, PEDs and under performance and in my eyes they were behind us to begin with. Boston? their systems high end is decimated outside of Devers, Groome is back but already had a lat strain this year, and their depth is a lot of 26 year old former top prospects with a ton of question marks.
  19. QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) What five do you rank higher? I would rank them post draft as such Braves Yankees Phillies White Sox Padres Astros Rays Dodgers Cards Brewers
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) I don't see how we could catch the Phillies, but #2 remains a possibility. Anyone know the top three prospects in next year's draft? I know it's early, but it would be nice knowing if there is some elite positional talent, especially from the college ranks. here is a nice list talking chop put together link
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 04:54 PM) Luis Gonzalez in CF leading off for Kanny with a 3-4-5 of Sheets (1B), Adolfo (RF), and Burger (3B). Thats a fun team. Skoug should be there in the near future as well.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) I think it's pretty ridiculous that Hansen & Dunning didn't make the list. Hell, I think it's absurd that Collins didn't make the list, but I can at least somewhat get the logic there. Hansen & Dunning have both been amongst the best pitchers in their draft class and also have high enough ceilings (especially Hansen) to warrant spots in the 75 to 100 range. Having Estevan Florial at 71 seems pushed to say the least. Hansen not in the top 100 is a bit of a joke, he was considered to go #1 overall in '16 and has delivered on his promise so far as a pro. Dunning's lack of recognition is a bit of a joke too.
  23. QUOTE (brett05 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 11:25 AM) Pre-rebuild, the Sox would be all over Ray. Not now. The guy whiffs way, way, way too much. If Brinson isn't in the deal, the Brewers only serve to drive the price up on Q with no shot at all of landing him. thats my take on this situation as well. With trading Q they have carte blanche to target not only top prospects but ones that fit their vision of the next competitive sox team; I would imagine more great plate discipline, above average power and average strike outs that play up the middle.
