  1. Q has 6 to 7 starts depending how the reset after the ASB if he keeps pitching like he has over his last 4 I think Hahn comes out looking good. As for teams that are fits: Yankees, Astros, Cubs & Rockies provided Q keeps it up and shows that the beginning of the season was a hiccup because of the WBC and hes back to normal Yankees - Frazier or Rutherford + Sheffield + Adams or Fowler or Andujar + Florial Astros - Tucker + Martes + Whitley or Perez + Alvarez or Arauz Cubs - Jimenez + Cease + Albertos Rockies - Rodgers + Tapia + McMahon All four of these teams would love to have Q on their staff and payroll. I doubt the rays sell off on Archer and Gray has less control and more question marks than Q and will still command a great return. Yankees might only have two starts in their rotation after free agency if Tanaka elects to leave. Astros are getting destroyed in the rotation as 80% of it is on the DL, yes they're still winning and out pacing their division but that will mean nothing come the post season if you don't have solid pitching. Cubs for obvious reasons. Rockies young rotation is going to hit a wall soon and if they plan on making october they're going to need to have someone in that rotation they can count on.
  2. they can go over 4.99% of their pool with out a penalty right?
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 07:39 PM) ...and strike 5 got him. I was about to post this as well. Glad to see the Q of old. after this start hes at 4.69 ERA | 4.06 FIP | 4.19 xFIP from a 5.07 ERA | 4.35 FIP | 4.43 xFIP
  4. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:11 PM) I'm sure plenty of teams will come calling about Avi and some one will likely pay for way he is producing right now, so I'd start the conversation with St. Louis asking for Kelly I think you could package Avi and Swarzak and bring back a package around Kelly & Perez or Flaherty depending on what the sox want and one additional interesting piece like a recent Cuban acquisition: Arozarena, Oviedo or Machado. Kelly would take additional pressure off the farm with regards to Collins and fits the mold of what Hahn is trying to emulate from the Astros; moderate to high power with good plate discipline and lower strike outs (Robert, Burger, Sheets & Gonzalez). Also a big reason I think they'll specifically target Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo this deadline.
  5. This rebuild is going to be tough for a lot of people here to stomach between the lapses in defense with a rookie player and having young aggressive players bat leadoff or top of the order in an attempt to get them adjusted quicker by getting them more PAs, this going to drive some people to heart failure.
  6. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 04:51 PM) He's an interesting lefty reliever in our system, something we are really thin on outside of him and Clark. I certainly could see Bummer getting a look in the pen at some point. You could throw Jace Fry in the mix as well now that it appears he is healthy hes doing ok down at AA.
  7. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) Who or what did we give up for Youkilis? The White Sox acquired Kevin Youkilis and cash(5.5m) from the Red Sox in exchange for pitcher Zach Stewart and utility player Brent Lillibridge (.175/.232/.190 - .422).
  8. QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 10:14 PM) For those of you who complained about my trade proposal, watching Todd tonight who is owed 8-10 million this year, he does not enhance your return he hurts it. Just to be fair, when I proposed the trade everyone was talking about including Frazier, who to me carries negative value today. Since I think we have some payroll flexibility, I would hope he gets hot from now to deadline to get a B-C+ couple prospects as compensation so I wouldn't include him as a negative in a trade. At the deadline, he goes to open trials for others. Todd will return a similar value to what the sox gave up when they got Youkilis from the red sox. I could see Swihart + Bell or Beeks.
  9. nice knock by TA if he could keep this approach every night he could be something special.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 09:32 PM) Quick update on other games: - Sonny Gray destroyed - Yanks pitching still sucks - Bellinger and Judge are solid Appreciate TL;DW
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Makes too much sense. Teams are going to overvalue relievers after what Chapman & Miller did last postseason and Kahnle could theoretically make that type of impact. We aren't going to get a Chapman/Miller return, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is one team out there that will give up 2 top 100 prospects to land him. The Dodgers seem like a team that might be willing to splurge for that type of weapon to pair with Jansen. Verdugo and Buehler would be fair game. Verdugo fits with Hahn wanting players that can work a count and walk more than they strike out and hes got an arm, would make a nice fit in RF.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) Nice Yolmer...way to hurt Santana's value
  13. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) Renteria strikes again. What is with the Sox management and leading off absolute bums? Better to get fringe prospects and future pillars as many plate apperances as possible in a down season to see if they can hack it at the major league level.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 11:12 AM) Wow, I didn't realize his walk numbers had gotten that low. Agreed, I can't wait to see him up at A+ shortly. In terms of ceiling our system looks like this to me. Giolito Kopech Hansen Lopez Guerrero Fulmer Dunning Adams Stephens Flores
  15. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 11:27 AM) In our view? Yes, he's worth 2 back 50 top 100 prospects. I highly doubt the rest of the league views him that highly due to the short track record though? I absolutely would try hard to sell high on him at the deadline if we can If thats the case then he won't be moved till the winter meetings or deadline next year as he takes over for Robertson and builds his value up even more.
  16. Kahnle is worth 2 top 100 prospects in the 50-100 range and a interesting piece. He is right up there with Jansen and Knebell in k/9 and has 3 years of control, he is beyond a "sweetener" if he gets moved at the deadline expect a slightly lesser package than Giles. If he gets moved in the off season and takes over for the departed Robertson his value is only going to go up from there.
