I think after the deadline we move into top 3 pick range easy.

Q is dealing 9 up 9 down

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 24, 2017 -> 01:06 PM) I'm starting to think that Boston's lack of reliable SP, even when Price returns, will lead Dombrowski to trade for Quintana. What's interesting is that aside from Devers and Groome, there aren't as many big prospects for them to trade to us. I know we've always liked Eduardo Rodriguez, but he's pitching well in the Majors, so would Boston accept something like this? Chicago gets: Devers, Groome, E. Rodriguez, Dahlbec, lottery ticket Boston gets: Quintana, Holland (to replace E-Rod in their rotation), and perhaps a reliever other than Jones/Robertson/Kahnle as a sweetener Thats quite an over pay. Q & Frazier for Devers, Groome, Chavis, Hernandez/Beeks & Swihart. There is a massive 3B class coming up shortly for Boston to cash in on. Groome has been hurt since his first start and Swihart looks to be a classic change of scenery type.

WARD: Mock Draft 3.0

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 22, 2017 -> 01:52 AM) Looking at their prospects I'll take Michael Chavis for Frazier. Blocked by Devers and Dalbec anyway so he won't have much value to them but he's a decent prospect. Dalbec has kind of had a down year so maybe they would rather move him. Like Dalbec's power potential at 3B. I'd take either player. Hopefully Todd picks it up like he has over his last 6 games. I could see something like Swihart + Darwinzon Hernandez if he doesn't pick it up and Chavis if he begins to turn it around.

QUOTE (hi8is @ May 20, 2017 -> 02:35 PM) Deals for Q, Robertson, + will sure add more confidence and filler by 2018. Draft strong again next month... tank this year for a high draft slot next year... Gotta love it. This is where my heart is at combined with the pipe dream of landing Machado when he becomes a FA.

QUOTE (yesterday333 @ May 16, 2017 -> 11:50 AM) I think the cubs are a great partner for the sox. With their starting pitching situation and their prospects it makes too much sense. Is Happ, Jemenez, and Cadelario too much to ask? Personally if we're dealing with the cubs I would like to see Happ, Candelario, Albertos and Caratini. Sox get a bunch of switch hitting multi positional near ready bats and a very interesting arm in Albertos.

Delmonico or Purke

1. Kopech 2. Giolito 3. Lopez 4. Fulmer 5. Dunning 6. Hansen 7. Adams 8. Flores 9. Guerrero 10. Stephens

Obviously would love Haseley, but regardless I think the sox take a college player possibly even under slot with Burger.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 8, 2017 -> 08:33 PM) Fans of a team that has just seen Matt Davidson return from 2 borderline DFA seasons to playable in MLB and are watching Yolmer Sanchez and Leury Garcia hitting in our top 5 for OPS, and to top it off have our top reliever as 27 year old TommyKahnle who for years had been unable to harness his control are about to write off a 23 year old former top prospect after a bad month. If you are currently bad you will be bad forever, good, good forever. seriously, thank you. The amount of sky falling and writing off of Giolito is absurd, plenty of top prospect pitchers have had to start from scratch with their mechanics, Gavin Floyd and Roy Halladay come to mind.
-
Here is hoping its a fast recovery and he is back in 10-14 days really hoping this isn't another Jesse Crain situation where he was dominate then fell apart before we could move him; obviously Nate has more control left.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 3, 2017 -> 01:41 PM) Good in theory, but If they think he's ready to go, he'll be up soon. If he is ready he is ready but i have a suspicion they're going to take their time with him and get as much service time while suppressing his salary as long as possible. 4 cracks at arb is no joke especially if he is Cano 2.0.
-
Leave him down till after the trade deadline. Gives time for Frazier to get his trade value up while giving long looks at Saladino, Sanchez & Leury.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 3, 2017 -> 11:54 AM) Give me 2 solid starters out of that trade in Dunning and Lopez and I'll take it. I don't know why people think Lopez is a reliever. Seriously a potential #2 & #4 cost controlled with the possibility of turning things around with Giolito i'll take that. There have been many pitchers that had to go and start from scratch before it clicked again. Not saying Giolito is Roy Halladay but when he is on he certainly has the stuff, I would gladly take Giolito developing into another project arm in Gavin Floyd. I feel like between all the new accounts on the board and lapse in time a lot of posters have collective amnesia; development isn't linear.
