  1. How amusing would it be, if, unbeknownst to the Sox brass and the fans, Andrew Vaughn was a slick fielding second baseman.
  2. Trying to extract a dollar's worth of skill by spending 35 cents on many guys, isn't new for this organization. I'm not disagreeing with you, it was 100% dumb to spend 13 million on those 3 guys, absolutely. But, after the Leury money was spent in December, it was always going to go this way. We've all lived through the terrible 'hey lets try this below average guy' signings, that we do EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Other teams make these signings, for camp depth or minor league contracts. We seem to enjoy thinking dumpster diving for a 26 man roster, can work every year.
  3. Yeah, I'm wondering myself who the Sox were supposed to bring in, instead? Whether we like it or not, we have x dollars that the organization is going to spend, and 2B is so much of a lesser concern, than RF and SP. Hernandez was an absolute dog in a Sox uniform. He appeared to have no desire to be there, body language sucked, performance sucked, just.......sucked.
  4. Freeman is going to play in Toronto, I still feel...
  5. After watching Hernandez in the 2nd half last year, no chance I wanted to watch him in a Sox uni again. I'm not saying Harrison is any better, but if the success/failure of the 2022 team, is hinged on Hernandez vs Harrison, we're screwed. We're all assuming (hoping) that we went cheap at 2B, because a move for RF/SP is still to come. If it doesn't, then yeah...signing Harrison follows no logic, and is very Hahn/Sox-esque.
  6. So you pick the 3 years where he was hurt for 2 of them, yeah....I'd imagine his output isn't very good, when he isn't playing.
  7. 4 mil for a competent second baseman is really nothing at all, at this point.
  8. If that is the move, and we couldn't move Kimbrel, then...meh, but about what I'd expect. A lot hinges on ole redbeard being moved.
  9. Absolutely. I agree there. If that is the only position player move that is made, then absolutely a fail. But if you spend on a RFer, move Kimbrel, then I like it.
  10. Not an improvement over Leury everyday/losing our utility guy? If Hernandez had shown any semblance of being a MLB player, while in Chicago, then yes, I'd agree.
  11. I don't get all of the disdain for Harrison. I think it was a pretty solid signing, especially at the cost. Seems a ton of folks are caught up in the L/R part of things. Now, if we end up with no more moves, then sure....
  12. Toronto is going to come in here, like an RKO outta nowhere, and sign Freddie Freeman.
  13. Maybe I'm in the minority, but money not being part of the discussion, I prefer Conforto over Kris Bryant. Not that we'll get either.
  14. Well......that ain't getting it done. What a disgrace.
  15. This offseason has been fun stuff so far for the White Sox, huh?!?
  16. You ARE aware that Leary hit .337 in Sep/Oct, right?
  17. Leury was at 3.5 mil this past season, this deal is going to be 3/14-16 I would think (and hope).
  18. Because at worst (ugh), they can claim Leury is the 2B, and we still need a RFer. Hopefully not the case, and they let him stay as super sub.
  19. Man....we should look into getting one of those types!
  20. Rick Hahn to player agents this week:
  21. Yeah, we need to dumb down the postseason even more....
  22. Texas out here throwing money around all over. We're in the couch cushions, looking for a quarter to spend.
