He's a younger version of Joe Torre IMO. If he manages long enough, someday the overwhelming feeling will be Robin has to go and needs to be replaced by someone more like Ozzie. That's the way it almost always goes. RV was a tremendous hire.

DWise the hero. Drives in the tying run and got the guy to 3rd so he could score on the errant pick off attempt of DWise.

If he popped out and didn't homer, there wouldn't have been complaining about a guy with a .260 OBP and a .520 OPS which is what he would have had, if not slightly lower,being optioned to AAA for 20 days. Most people who are very upset by this would have most likely thought it would be good for him to get some ABs, come back in September perhaps with a little momentum at the plate. There's someone on another board who basically thinks this move will either keep the Sox out of the playoffs or kill them in the playoffs if Danks isn't on the playoff roster.
