  1. July in Vegas is pretty sweet. I got married there. It was 115 degrees. But a dry heat.
  2. Not Cishek deleted his tweet about Escobar trade not being announced late at night the day he had off, because it wasn't a big enough trade. He also has a tweet we're his"source" asked him to remove a few tweets so he or she would stay out of trouble. He obviously had zero info on this, and even if he was telling the truth, that would mean his source has dried up. He would have been better off just telling the world he was wrong.
  3. Kopech as well, although I think if he wasn't on an innings limit, he would probably be back by now. His didn't seem very bad, and he is a strong dude. I think giving him a blow now probably seems like a good idea, as he probably would have had to take a couple of weeks off anyway.
  4. I still think if healthy, Eaton can play. Whether he can stay healthy is a legit question, but I didn't think he was as injury prone as others. When he was here previously, he answered the bell. His first 2 partials in DC were caused by the same play slipping on a wet base. He had knee surgery, came back, his ankle was bothering him,. They claim it happened when he hurt the knee. Got a specialist to clean it up, and he was fine the rest of 2018 and all of 2019. Last year, I think he broke a finger. The hammy problems the White Sox are having is going to cause either a workout or stretching change. It seems there always is some injury players get in bunches. IMO, it has to come from their routines, since most are very similar. Lakers just fired their trainer. Apparently it was her fault LeBron messed up his ankle.
  5. Is it just me or does anyone else notice Cubmania in Chicago seems to be at about as low of level since pre Harry Caray? Sure, they will probably sell out or nearly sell out their remaining home games, but it’s the middle of June, they are in contention, and whether it’s a newspaper or television, you almost have search for Cubs stuff. Even when they really sucked, it was always in your face. Maybe it’s Marquee, maybe winning took the tolerance of not being the best away, but it seems really different. Hopefully the Sox can capitalize.
  6. They offered Pederson $10 million before they signed Eaton. He said no. Mistake on his part. I wouldn’t say the Eaton signing was a disaster. He hasn’t been good obviously, but he did have a few moments, but the Sox haven’t been on much with signings in this price range. I do agree about injuries. Robert, Eloy, Madrigal, even TA, get hurt every year, and they are young. It doesn’t seem like a thing you outgrow. I would think, if anything, it may get worse.
  7. Hopefully Robert and Eloy return. Abreu gets hit. Grandal gets to .200, and the offense looks nasty again.
  8. The guy hasn't pitched in almost 2 years, coming off shoulder problems, and still not 100%.
  9. Leury is technically a back up and he gets more play than most regulars. The team would be stacked, and Escobar isn't exactly a star, so he may like the role. He loves the organization.
  10. The thing is, if you traded for Escobar, you could re-sign him and let him take the Leury perhaps with less OF appearances in 2022. If they get any semblance of health next season, you won't need that spot to go to the OF very often.
  11. One of the better in season trades the Sox made was in 2000 acquiring Charles Johnson for the stretch run. Brooks Fordyce was the cost. He was serviceable, and put up really good numbers the rest of 2000 for Baltimore, but Johnson was nails for the Sox. Just a rental, but he helped make sure they made the playoffs.
  12. Would you trade Mendick for Escobar? Personally, I think Frazier is going to cost too much, and regressing to the mean is probable.
  13. Maybe the Sox didn’t want him to get rusty before the big announcement.
  14. He's all in. He said a small trade like this wouldn't have been announced late last night. They will wait until today or tomorrow for that. It's really funny seeing a guy with obviously no info trying to seem like he has RH's phone bugged.
  15. He sat out last night. When is the announcement? Will be be in the line up today or join the team in Houston?
  16. Rehab assignments can only last 20 days, so if all goes well, Eloy will be hitting bombs and saying hi to hi mom the first or second week of August.

  18. Or about as much as his flyball judgement.
  19. So there won't be leaks, it is totally a stealth operation, but this clown knows all about it. OK..
  20. The Sox got it wrong too. If they had any inkling he would be doing this, they wouldn't have risked losing him, and would have tendered him.
  21. The GM can complain about it, but the same guys he is complaining about are the ones he is giving 7 figure signing bonuses. The guys who learn how to pitch but don't throw as hard are lucky to get $10k.
  22. Hendriksalso was wearing a sleeve on his elbow.
  23. Bowden just throws out names. He has no specific knowledge. I would be careful about Frazier. Lifetime .280 hitter hitting .328, switching leagues. He probably wouldn't hit .250. Escobar is the better choice IMO. Already had success on the AL, a slower start means he is probably due to get hot. He also loved playing for the Sox. I remember when he got traded. He cried.
  24. The lead is only 4.5. If it isn't at least 6 by the end of this weekend, the Sox need to sell. Fool's gold. One question I would have for Jack, at least some of the injured guys, if not all, will probably be back for the last month. If you sell, aren't you really screwing yourself?
  25. I heard the Twins haven't won a series vs. the Yankees since 2000.
