Yeah, who knows what you get for him. But if it's not a lot, I don't see the point.

Luis Robert put up a 5.0 WAR in 2023. Last year he was hurt again, and the team beyond dreadful. People act like he's never been good.
-
It's history repeating itself. Remember when the Sox failure before the failed rebuild was everyone else's fault but Rick Hahn's?
-
He would have been a great catcher. Probably would have even stayed healthy, and with the foul balls to the groin, probably would have had a few less side pieces.
-
I remember when the used to have Soxfest. A new ball cost $10. Balls signed by old bums were $5.
-
The fact is, as long as JR is around, the better he pitched, the less chance the Sox ever had of having him around in 2 years, so even if he pitched great the first half this year, the less control cost the Sox, and I still find it hard to imagine he makes it through another season unscathed. Hopefully, this turns into the best deal that was offered, There's some to really like here, and no real bust probable guys. He had to go.

I actually agree with you for once.
-
Their top catching prospect is one of them.

I get that, but the way the rules are, it's much easier for a team to take a pitcher. These guys all need some development or they wouldn't be available. A hitter basically loses a full season of develpment. A pitcher, not so much. And you can use them in garbage time, which there will be plenty in 2025.

You look back as some drafts, and some of the first rounds are absolutely brutal.
-
Like i wrote, odds are, they never get Ohtani. Even the Cubs had no shot. But how about Harper? Totally worth his contract. Changes the narrative about the whole organization. Didn't even put out an effort. As long as JR is around, unless the Sox get really lucky and draft a star, they aren't signing one.

The draft lottery is today.............................nevermind.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert

I think there is a distinct possibility this team flirts with breaking their own record for losses in 2025. -
Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread

I was a Madrigal fan, but he makes Robert and Moncada, and Eloy look like Cal Ripken. -
The coolest player ever. Everyone else looked like a dork wearing a helmet in the field. He looked cool.
-
Just think, by halfway through next season, the Mets are contractually obligated to pay Soto more than any contract the White Sox have given out.

He was a great guy. My wife is a lawyer and they have to go these things for credit every year, so she went to sports law thing and Bill was speaking. A couple of years later we were at one of those Grinder's Bashes they used to hold. I went to the bathroom, and when I came back, Bill and my wife were talking. She told him what a great job he did giving his presentation, and he said he was really nervous because he was the only non lawyer in the room. Then I told him my story. I was a little guy. Mayonnaise disgusts me. When he went the last day for the HR title, after I ate my cereal, I stuck my face in a jar of mayo. It made me throw up and get to stay at home from school to watch the game. He batted leadoff to maximize his chances, and he did it.

Kind of weird you sign a minor league contract for a minor league team.

That was Don Cooper as well.

Andrew Benintendi on the trade market (duh)
Dick Allen replied to Harold's Leg Lift's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He has never threatened to move. He said when he dies, his son may have to sell to outsiders because they may be worth more somewhere else. It won’t happen. -
The White Sox want a new park and they weren’t over .260 let alone .500.

I heard some call DePaul the White Sox of College Basketball.

Warren is an outsider who doesn’t understand how things work in Chicago. No way it gets built where they want it. Maybe down south, but is that better than Arlington? I have always thought it would be in AH. They own the land. They would own the building.
