The Bryan Reynolds thread
Interesting we have one thread that is trying to say the OF situation is so terrific, Adam Eaton should soon be DFA’d. Yet there are posts in this thread calling for the Sox to trade for a RF. Sheets is a lot better than I thought, but obviously not as good as he has played, so I would be careful trying to figure out when he will be giving a speech in Cooperstown. That said, ride the hot hand. Hopefully, Eaton is and can remain healthy. Hopefully, Eloy, Robert, and Engel can all come back and remain healthy, and there will be no reason to address the OF. I think ultimately, they get Escobar for very little other than a contract dump. We will have to see what other injuries occur, but with a 6 game lead there is no reason to rush. This team has shown it can withstand missing players, slumping players....It would really be nice to see them at full strength.

Moncada to miss weekend series vs. DET
Look on line at the standings. They have plenty of leverage.

Time to add Escobar.

All-time Soxtalk Whipping Boy
Greg Walker going away. Bad hitters were his fault. Good hitters, nothing to do with him

Probably a blessing he bobbled. He throws through, the guy is most likely safe, and the runner takes 2nd.

It looked like it was in the pinkie area. Even if he is hurt, I don't think it would be a long thing.

He didn't take the cutoff in the baseline. He was on the other side of it and chased down the throw. He did what anyone would have done in his position and if it happened against the White Sox you would be going after the umpire.

He was going after the ball that was thrown to him. Get a clue.

Donaldson is a jackass, but I don't know what he is supposed to do there.

It's weird, but Leury has been playing with a banged up knee. Maybe it was a little sore today.

Leury is good to go tomorrow. Wanted to give him the day off with the quick turnaround.

Correct. It's basically just a bar at that point.

Great Dinner Spots in Chicago
A trick for no wait Au Cheval. Get there between 430 and 445. They don’t start serving burgers until 5 pm. I have done this 4 times and it has worked every time. Get a couple cocktails in you, then ask for the dinner menu.

Sheets up, Hamilton back, Lamb to IL, Gonzalez down
Billy is such a bad hitter, he doesn't need a rehab assignment.

Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
It's probably a little tricky. They probably know they are going to need more than Escobar. I am sure they hope they can stay above water as long as possible to give the injured a shot at returning, but more players is taking on more money. Taking all of Escobar's contract probably gets it done, but i don't think the Sox want to hamstring other moves by eating it.

They probably have to get his OK for the money, and he probably isn't that accessible right now, so it is possible.

It is so muggy out there. What is the over/under on how many times Steve Stone mentions a lively park tonight?

Who knows what everyone's value will be in a couple of years. A couple of months ago, a lot of people would be laughing if someone said the cost of a player that could help the team win was Collins or Burger. At some point, all these guys are going to start making significant money at the same time. They may wind up trading off a piece or two if guys like Burger, Cespedes or Colas show they are capable.
