  1. I think if they did prospect ranking daily , there is no way at the time of the trade his statement isn't accurate. He wasn't having a stellar season. It got worse, but there was a lot of talk about his lack of power.
  2. Yeah, we heard about this feud. I had no idea Jimmy Rollins got into it with Lawrie. Lawrie is one guy if I was looking for a fight, I would avoid. He seems like he could go way nuts.
  3. They both are showing their was plenty of blame to go around there. Ozzie said last night everyone hated Eaton, but Frazier certainly isn't showing much with his behavior. Let it go, it was 3 years ago, and you don't have to deal with each other every day.
  4. Except when he is relieving.
  5. Alonso has put up higher than a 1.1 fWAR one time in his career with a 2.4. Trading for him for any other reason than getting Machado considering he is being paid more than ever would be dumb. No surprise he brings little to no value, but this bad is a surprise.

I don't want any of them. But you have to figure, looking at track records, which everyone who wants Palka back is trying to look at, Alonso should improve. His acquistion without Machado was embarrassing. But at this point, what do you do? He should have sat a lot of games by now. Playing him every day is insane. Now if he gets back to his typical year, he will either have to be sat not to trigger his option or be traded, and who is going to want to be stuck with his option?

You don't want to believe .223/.285/.449 Palka's lifetime stats because he hit some homers in meaningless games. But believe his AAA numbers where everyone comes up big. If he were 3 or 4 years younger, I would probably agree, make room for him. But now? Who cares, Skole is putting up huge numbers. Where are the calls for him? If Alonso was playing for Charlotte and trying to get back instead of just playing out the string, his numbers would probably be enormous.

Alcedes Escobar who hits like he is using a rolled up newspaper has an .876 OPS in Charlotte. Don't believe what you see there.
  9. 3-4 would be nice. They could get some confidence. Gio and Lopez are pitching pretty well. Nova usually alternates good and bad starts. Houston is great but banged up, and Minnesota isn't the house of horrors it used to be. I think they can do it.
  10. Fry warmed up 3 times before he came in including once really hard in the 4th or 5th inning. He being BP an hour later is on Ricky and Coop.
  11. I don't know what they said but taking shots when he is long gone while never saying anything but great things when he is here is a bit weasely.

Would depend how you look at it. His fWAR is actually worse than Alonso’s, and since it’s negative the fewer ABs actually helps him. If you take it by career Alonso is better. But if you just want to fit Palka career vs Alonso 40 games, then your narrative works. Palka sucks. Come to grips with it. Right now, Tilson and Cordell deserve to be in Chicago more than Palka. I am sure Delmonico will go when Eloy is back. Hopefully tomorrow.

Palka will probably be in Japan or Korea this time next year.

He is 27 and doesn’t have a history to suggest he is anything more than what he is been, which to this point, including last season, is replacement level.

Funny thing is Alonso has been much better than Palka this year in major league games. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind if neither never played another game for the White Sox.

If MLB success was based on offensive numbers for the Charlotte Knights, the Sox could have made Matt Davidson their #1 starter and still had the offense to compete for titles.

He had it on Wednesday. It was successful which to me seems odd. They always call it successful before seeing how he comes back from it.
  18. I just looked at my MLB app check in history. The last 10 games I have attended, the Sox are 0-10 and have been outscored 83-14.
  19. I guess Hahn said on MLBN it is very likely Abreu will be a White Sox when they expect to be good.
  20. I am not a Crowley guy but that isn’t surprising. JR is a very smart man, but everyone has weaknesses. I think he has a problem admitting being wrong, which a lot of us have, and he loves the I told you so. When the Sox won the division in 1983, JR was focused on calling the long gone Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall scumbags. When they won it in 2000’ JR is in the clubhouse telling the media how wrong everyone was about the white flag trade. He is hoping he can tell people he was right and the obvious was wrong with both his teams now, GarPax success is based on beating unbelievable odds and landing DRose. If that never happened, would they have ever been more than a 6 or 7 seed? A lot is going to have to go right for it not to continue.
  21. Good for Avi, but does anyone really trust him to stay healthy and play well for 2 or 3 years straight which would have needed to happen if they were to sign him long term. Maybe they missed out on a decent trade chip, but it's not like Avi is going to bring back a can't miss. Probably more like the crap they always get.
  22. I think the last "surprise" that was developed by the White Sox was Maggs Ordonez.
  23. Build up some capital with ownership.
  24. Bulls at 7. What a disaster.
  25. Frank Thomas was watching the video of Eloy running around the bases before he went on his assignment and he said he has hurt his ankles enough to know Eloy's is still bothering him. He said the giveaway was the little steps he would start taking approaching the bag because he had to hit it just right.
