  1. The way Getz amd Pedro are talking right now, they should be held accountable if this team sucks. If they are trying to sell it's a good team, if it is, they get a ton of credit. If it isn't, it should be noted thousands who sit in the stands and pay to attend games knew way better.
  2. It's going to be a long season because they are going to lose 90 + games again and suck. Montgomery will be fun to watch. Ramos might be fun if he gets a shot. Other than that, its just hope for some surprises, and Bears training camp starts in July.

I read the last time Crochet pitched 4 innings in a game was May 2019.
  4. Only because they can't draft any higher than #10 in 2025. Its isn't meaningless. It's a team that has definitely tanked, depriving its fans of entertaining baseball, which MLB has started going to great lengths to avoid. Even many of them can't get to 100. 100 wins would be great. Would you throw cold water on that and say it too is a meaningless line people have drawn?
  5. I had season tickets for 30 years. I hope they win every game they play. Last year when they hired Pedro, I was fired up. He seemed perfect. Turns out the guy was a fraud. He is awful. Then JR finally comes to his senses and fires Hahn and KW. He doesn’t search for a perfect replacement, he hired Getz because he said Getz knew the organization and he couldn’t waste a year. I liked his first trade. It’s somewhere on this site if you don’t believe it, but after that, and until the Cease trade, which again, I thought was pretty good, I gave a B grade, all he acquired was and is crap. This will be a wasted year. They are terrible. Not even trying. Call me a whiner. I consider myself an educated consumer. I was sold a bill of goods. I won’t be fooled again. The organization is full of bullshitters, and it starts at the top.
  6. You take spring training way too seriously. I hope Nastrini is good pitcher, but chances are he won’t be all that good in the major leagues in 2024. Command isn’t the greatest.
  7. Shouldn’t White Sox hitters be taking advantage or does this only happen to White Sox pitchers? At so,e point, and now, in spring training, I understand why you don’t want to, you’re going to have to realize they aren’t as good as most teams. And that they suck.
  8. Counting on DeJong to be a part of your success is like signing Dallas Keuchel and expecting him to be successful.
  9. He's probably just as good as any other position player Getz acquired and he couldn't get a deal until Spring Training was about over.

When you have this much talent, you're going to have to say goodbye to several great players.

These guys are all on the train competing and bunting, and all that good stuff. Playing for their careers. You have so many great players, it's hard to make a decision.

    OMG.
  13. That won't happen to Crochet. His arm will just fall off.
  14. After his no hitter, wasn't Lorenzen god awful?
  15. He looks a little too nice. Maybe grow some chin hair about 4 inches off his jaw and add a few neck tats.
  16. As dumb as they are, I don't think they are that stupid. I think one of the reasons for the Opening Day assignment is the off day that follows to get the bullpen reset. Unless he throws a couple of 9 pitch innings, I doubt he makes it into the 4th.
  17. I think he's pretty good when healthy. It is what it is. I'm more pissed off the Sox are in a position to have him be the OD starter than he actually being the OD starter. On the bright side, he being the OD starter is better than Gavin Sheets being the OD RF, which may have only been stopped by the Tigers starting a lefty.
  18. He started 6 games as a freshman at Tennessee, 6 games as a sophomore, and 1 as a junior going 3.1 innings, so there really is no history of being a starting pitcher.
  19. Yeah because who needs to go to class.
  20. I get all that but you send him to Charlotte to work as a starter, you may never see him again. I know Ray Ray thinks injuries are random, but this guy was hurt before he was drafted, and has been hurt every year he's been in the organization. Now "stretching him out" and throwing more pitches is the supposed answer from the same people who would call for a managers head if he let someone throw 130 pitches in a game. Makes no sense. He's going to get hurt, probably pretty soon. As long as they realize he's a reliever starting and don't try to do too much with him at least at the beginning, fine, whatever. But really, a closer pitching 55 innings a year is what he should be.
  21. There are plenty of people who think he will be healthier as a starter. That's insane
  22. He’s been compared a lot to Sale, and his career has gone like many figured Sales career would have gone, but Chris somehow managed to stay relatively healthy for many seasons. Then it started happening. He gets hurt every year. Crochet is doing that as a guy in his early to mid 20s.
  23. You throw more pitches as a starter, He was hurt pre Covid when the Sox drafted him. He was hurt in the 2020 division series. He spent time on the IL in 2021, he missed 2022; and spent more time on the IL after he came back last year. I wish the guy well, but anyone who thinks his injuries are behind him is stoned.
  24. Might as well get as many "starts" as you can before he clutches his elbow or shoulder. They used to call these guys openers. Maybe they think the bullpen gets a day off on Friday, so the short start won't matter as much.
