QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 03:08 PM) They're seemingly determined not to have Micah Johnson set foot anywhere near the MLB defense for now. And/or they're looking to trade him, but who knows with KW and his penchant for dealing prospects... Who was the last top prospect KW traded?
-
Rick has it easy and is paid a good wage to pick up KW's dry cleaning, find gifts for KW to give his wife, and picking up KW and JR's lunch every day. C'mon man. Hahn isn't going anywhere. He really isn't the puppet he is made out to be.

I always thought Hoffman would be a great return for Samardzija, but I've read a couple of guys who are pretty down on him. There is no way I would give up Montas for CarGo. That move has people complaining about KW for years written all over it.

White Sox will be buyers at the deadline

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:23 PM) Laroche for Alvarez makes to much sense. for us, but still. Not really. LaRoche is a whipping boy, but he'll hit again. Wasn't too long ago Melky's contract was an albatross. I was told by one, he wouldn't put up a 4 WAR total from his low point for the balance of the contract. He is already 25% there. He has eked his way back to a positive WAR. LaRoche will hit again. -
Starlin Castro and Jorge Soler not in line up for Cubs
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Castro has been through 3 or 4 managers, has had a couple of off field incidents. Maybe he grows up and becomes something. I wouldn't give up anything to find out. -
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) You make a good point but you generally don't want to buy low and sell high in the same move, which is what we would be doing by trading Quintana for Puig. Exactly. Buying low is fine. When the price is Q, that is not buying low. It's buying a low current performance for a premium price which gets GMs fired.

Here's the biggest reason Tyler Flowers plays http://www.baseballprospectus.com/sortable...php?cid=1821757

Right now, being that the overwhelming odds are against the White Sox winning the division, they shouldn't be sending away top prospects for bats unless those bats are going to be around for a while. I am not a big fan of CarGo. Of course he is hot right now, but he will cool off, and as was stated above, if you don't like LaRoche vs. LHP, you aren't going to like CarGo. Only take CarGo if you give up no top 7 or 8 prospects. For some reason, I don't think the Rockies would go for that.

Less than a week ago, the Sox were in last place. They are now just as close to a playoff spot as they are last place. If only Robertson didn't give up that triple to Molina.
-
I think the Sox are really chasing TOR and BALT. The Twins are going to fade. Their youngsters won't handle it. I wouldn't be surprised if HOU fades as well. On ESPN Stark says teams say the White Sox have been tellimg teams they won't trade Shark if it makes them weaker this season.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) Knowing KW, that would make him even more tempting...because he won't have to offer as much and the Padres wouldn't have much to gain with the compensation pick. Not unlike bringing in Manny Ramirez in 2010. In the end, CarGo is much more likely, but only if KW's controlling things and has convinced JR to move on from Avi Garcia, since we'd be stuck with his contract for two more seasons. Considering some of the posts you made about guys KW would claim on waivers or certainly trade for, your "knowing KW" couldn't be further from the truth.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) IIRC didn't he leak the Shark deal? And Robertson? i wouldn't doubt it, but White Sox stuff, he is usually spot on.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:49 PM) You know what's funny? Soto in this game almost has almost as many walks as Tyler has the entire year. Sal Perez has 6 unintentional walks in 89 games.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Damn dont you hate offense from a catcher. I hate it. Robin expertly giving him the perfect amount of rest so he can perform at his peak.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) i'm assuming someone from the carmines is going to get hit by a baseball? Let sleeping dogs lie

I womder how many 7 run leads Samardjiza has had in his career.

Where was Herms other hand

Needs a HR.

The Sox are like the Cleveland Indians in Major League

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) So who pays for that? I would image the entity that runs the parking lot

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:26 PM) It was Fisk's car. I don't think so. I have been to Fenway, there are no cornfields around there.

Texas scored 5 in the first, the Yankees came back with 11 in the second.

QUOTE (RaySox @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) Loved the flyout admiration and fan freakout Like Wrigley, a lot of onstructed view. They see a ball hit solidly in the air, they assume its gone. Just like that one. Geo. Was Geo KW or Hahn. I am assumimg since people are happy it was all Hahn.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) FOX Sports LiveVerified account @FOXSportsLive MOOKIE BETTS! That's a nominee for #The1 tonight! What a grab. #RedSox If only was ruled a catch. It was pretty spectacular other than it popping out at the end, but if there was no replay, I would have assumed it was a catch. Kudos to Robin for the challenge.
-
QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Why did Betts jump over the fence? He had no reason to and could have stopped himself or crashed into the wall. I'm so tired of these hotshots trying to get their exposure on Baseball Tonight's web gem segment. If I was the pitcher I'd be LIVID if an outfielder did that to me. The the wall that low it is hard to stop. I went flying over a snow fence on a similar play in HS. But in my case it was an out, not a HR. Even a wall that low, the drop on the other side is a lot bigger than you anticipate when you are going over.
