  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) Sarcastic? I haven't been paying attention a lot but the 1st inning I remember him being generous to Sale on a couple pitches No. If it is barely in the zome he is calling it a strike, and barely out, a ball. Assumimg the lasers are right on, his calls when Abreu was batting were really impressive.
  2. This umpire has been in line with pitch trax all night.
  3. I fill out surveys for the Sox year after year. They still haven't picked up Mike Trout like I have asked.
  4. Sale has a 4.29 ERA in the first inning, best on the staff by over a run. Rodon's 5.40 ERA is the only other under 6.00. #coophasthemready
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) Yeah. have some decent arms coming up for bullpen, if petricka/putnam have any A-level live arms may be worth it. I don't understand why you would trade Petricka or Putnam for a class A arm unless it is a really nice prospect. They make no money and have as much potential as anyone you would receive., if you want to trade one or both for an equally ranked hitter, that makes some sense.
  6. Remember when the Cubs had Wood, Prior, and Zambrano? 3 future first ballot HOFers, and they were going to rule all of baseball for at least a decade? That was awesome. In Dusty we trusty.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) I get what you are saying, but his comments read as 100% victim shaming IMO. Maybe it was the way the paper reported them, maybe it was him protecting his investment, I don't know, but couldn't help but think that. What is interesting is Kane's attorney, the same guy who repped him when he beat the cab driver over 20 cents, was supposedly in the same bar on Saturday with his wife.
  8. If she called a relative right away, she wasn't too drunk for consent. I wonder what the bite marks were about. If she did get raped, I feel bad for her because her story is going to get shredded. If it was her that was all over him at the bar, if she did go to his house at 4 AM with the friend, and deciding to ditch her friend in the house to go into another room alone are all going to hurt her case. It is the stereotypical raped case. The alleged victim will be put on trial.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) For team that can't rebuild, we haven't made the playoffs since '08. But the teams people want to be like now were awful for a long time. Last week was the first time in 38 years where the Cubsand Pirates played each other with both teams 10 games over.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) Cubs were a similar way two years ago, and now they are so much better managed despite 4 rookies. They have different players.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:34 PM) Because I want to see if someone else can get them to play smarter than this pathetic team. Then you think it is his fault, which is fine. I disagree. Fire Robin. If you have the same roster, the same issues will pop up.
  12. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) Get the bullpen up. Maybe we just need to pull this clown when he starts walking everyone and getting smashed and he will wake up. It's almost like he wanted to get traded so he'd get a chance to win and lose the QO and now he is acting like a little b**** since he had to stay He has had one really good year in his career. He has lived off his football career and hairsyle for years.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:30 PM) Not his fault, but when the team consistently makes Little League-caliber mistakes, it's a lot easier to replace one guy than 25. Which is the dumbest argument you can make, if it isn't his fault, how is replacing him going to mean different results? You don't fire your accountant beccause your landscaper does a crappy job on your lawn.
  14. Clearly Robin's fault Soto got picke off. My bad.
  15. Soto clearly needs to play more
  16. Pods said not an empty seat in the house as the camera shot showed empty seats
  17. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) He pitched decently for the orioles too If his performance for the Orioles was decent, don't ever rag on John Danks again. Fernando had a heck of a career, but really struggled late in the AL.
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) Seems like Gronk is the guy that has managed to live a crazy life without getting into trouble. I could be wrong. A lot of these guys are living crazy lives but staying out of trouble. Troubke seems to find the same small percentage over and over again. Personally, I think one of Kane's biggest problems, if not most professional athletes' biggest problems, is his "posse". You read local Buffalo stuff about that crew, and beimg in a lot of trouble doesn't surprise a lot of people.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) But what if said girl is 17 years old possibly (which is being speculated) and is in a bar with a fake ID that says she's 20/21/22 years old? If this is the case, which has been possibly rumored, he's still guilty of statutory rape even though I don't think there's much he could do. I do know a girl can show you a fake ID, be drinking in a bar using the fake ID, but if she is underage, you are in trouble. There are literally thousands of hot girls who would f*** Kane without issue. He finds one where there is some sort of problem. Either he dead horsed her,she isn't of age, she said no but he continued, the day after she decided she wasn't a one night stand type of girl and was emabarrassd, she is just trying to make some money....whatever. Because he is a Blackhawk, many in Chicago think Kane is their buddy,(in reality he cares 2 s***s,about you )and backs him up. If he were a Red Wing, we would all be discussing what an awful and stupid person he is.
  20. Game was lost in the 8th. Saladino missed 2 hangers one he didn't swimg at, Abreu didn't swing at one and struck out on a pitch a foot outside.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) I completely agree a player has a responsibility to represent the franchise on and off the ice. What I don't agree with is that that responsibility extends to vetting every sexual partner one takes. By signing a contract and accepting compensation, an athlete does not give up his right to being a human being with human needs. The athlete does not give up his right to enjoying his compensation and the enjoyment that compensation affords in a reasonable manner. If that is indeed the expectation of the organization, I would say there needs to be additional consideration given to the player, in the form of no trade clauses, more guaranteed money, and honestly, more services provided to the player. The organization is allowed to treat the athletes as commodities, because "that's business." Well, if this is just "business," then that "business" does not extend to any responsibility by the athlete to do anything other than simply performing his duties on the field of play. The organization cannot have it both ways. It cannot simultaneously require the athlete to accept being treated like cattle or soybeans, to be used up and then discarded after their utility has diminished, while also requiring the athlete to be an "ambassador" representing the organization 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If they want tor receive the benefits of employing a human being, that expectation should extend to more humane treatment of the athlete as well. If Kane has a brain, he would vet every sexual partner he has, not for the Blackhawks, but for himself. NBC said Rocky is sad and pissed off.
  22. I think they should put Harold in the booth. I don't blame Pods. This isn't what he does, but he needs a lot of work if he wants to do this full time somewhere. He is certainly no natural.
  23. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 08:22 PM) Pods: Hawk, you turning Sanchez loose? (Dead air) Hawk was probably in shock Pods said something.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) Made a jumping catch going towards the wall took a few steps and tumbled, and landed on his shoulder awkwardly I hope it isn't collarbone, I didn't like how he was holding his arm Looking at the replay, it looks like his shoulder was hurt before he landed. Hawk said he was having shoulder issues. Hopefully, he didn't tear something.
  25. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 06:20 PM) Flowers isn't the biggest issue by any means but I think it's time to look for something else at that position. I would say that is fair. I am sure they have been looking.
