  1. You would think the answer would be no becasue they did nto go after Harbaugh but again that could be Warren v Harbaugh in an ego trip. This is similar to Eberflus over Quinn and the epically insane Waldron over Kingsbury. Poles needs to win some moves this offseason.
  2. Poles has shown nothing to lead me to believe that he should still be making decisions. They said on the radio and I cannot believe this is true is that Waldron is making $5M for the next 4 years. If that is the case Poles should not be allowed to make another decision. Seems that the change in operations here is the money the team is spending on hirings of coaching. This is being credited to Warren and seems to be where Ted Phillips hampered things previously. So what we have here is Carolina falling apart and luck winning that trade big time and Warren was able to pull off the obvious but somehow 100+ years in the making of having the McCaskey's spend. Now how does Poles build a team??? I really wonder if he gets an extension. He should not but we shall see.
  3. Washington has a legitimate GM. The Bears shitshow hired Waldron over Kingsbury. I think Raiders give Johnson a crazy amount of money and Bears end up with their Johnson blowing in the wind.
  4. The TLR comp would be to hire Parcells right now. The maddening thing is the Bears have this structure that they adhere do that is obviously very broken yet they are unwavering. That ESPN sorry read to me like the NFL was ok with the connections as long as there was diversity in the pieces of the puzzle. I am not certain the NFL cares how dumb the Bears are as long as they follow proper protocols My fear is the Johnson is not experienced enough to build a staff and overcome the ineptitude of that front office. I think that was what did in Nagy. My hope would be that McCarthy would know how to navigate that better. I felt the same way with John Fox. He was younger than McCarthy when hired. Man did he disappear after Chicago. I think Johnson gets the bag from the Raiders. If it doesn't work he can blame the Raiders. He could do the same with the Bears but I think the Raiders would pay more. The Bears are in a prime position to get a legitimate coach under market value in McCarthy.
  5. McCarthy is the safest bet to build Caleb and potentially overcome Bears organizational mismanagement. He gives me the Lovie vibe. Carroll is a slam dunk if not for his age. I have always appreciated McCarthy and I am not exactly certain why. What really sucks is Fangio getting is only HC shot coming off the Bears.
  6. The most important thing that could happen to a poorly run franchise happened to Washington. They got a new ownership group.
  7. The success of the other QBs is finally shining a light on how inept the Bears are as an organization. Passing on Kingsbury for Waldron, the process that got Flus hired and retained. The ineptitude is not only Poles but Warren and George. The folks above the GM seemed to not get as hammered as they are now. The entire failing organization is in the crosshairs. Trubisky, Fields and their predecessors were a mix of talent evaluation and coaching fails but to be honest nobody has gone on to succeed after leaving the Bears as a fired HC or failed QB draft pick. Williams is different. If he fails it is viewed as organizational. The success of Nix, Daniels and Stroud even Young is organizations putting their drafted QB in a position to succeed while the Bears through 3 OCs put their player in a position to fail.
  8. Im not an ND fan but I love Brian Kelly getting dunked on he is a grade A tool and perfect for LSU
  9. They interviewed nine OC candidates and missed badly. In their case interviewing more candidates does not have a history of success.
  10. Johnson has some connection to the Jacksonville front office and seems to be why the GM was kept. The three finalists when Eberflus was hired were Jim Caldwell, Eberflus and Dan Quinn. For some reason I get the feeling Thomas Brown will be retained. George and the boys seem to not place winning over cost or control. How do to interview those three and determine Eberflus is the better candidate. The organization has done nothing to show they are serious about building out a legitimate front office.
  11. And thus continues the vicious circle of not having any continuity at OC. If Flores hires an OC and they have success they will be gone then you have the same issue as what happened when Gase was the OC. Poles can't seem to judge much of anything so he will hire Flores and then hopefully only go through 2 OC's next year before maybe figuring it out. The hire should be Ben Johnson or bust. Flores would be a good hire but who manages the offensive side of the ball. Vrabel and somehow getting Arthur Smith/Josh Mc Daniels would make sense and if Flores has a connection like that fine. Flores would need to have a guy that isn't HC material moving forward.....like Shane Waldron was thought to be. The odd thing is that nobody really thought Waldron was a good hire outside of the Bears and that is why I think they fail again this offseason.
  12. It's amazing how many old guys that I have never heard of are signed by this organization. I guess the fact I barely watch their games any longer keeps me from hearing of these guys.
  13. I think Cam Ward will be much better than Sanders but I am predisposed to not like anything related to Colorado football and view everything there as overhyped. Potentially I am being irrational but so be it.
  14. The hope would be could they get him on a shorter prove it deal to pair with Wright and three new bodies to start and find 4 other bodies to back up. The Bears need to invest their 3 top picks in OL. Williams is the future, if the defense suffers so be it. Then drop a bag of cash on someone in FA. IF they stick with Jenkins then draft a DL with their third pick All this being said, i have zero faith that Poles can do any better at his job then some folks off the street. His inability to do anything other than benefit from losing is rather amazing. My fear is he will trade up to take a stud OL and lose draft capital needed for his misses and inability to draft a strong class across the board.
  15. They have a great coach. Crazy how CPS is non existent.
  16. Can't wait to see the 34 year old reliever that we traded an 18 year old for in hopes he pans out so we can trade him for an 18 year old reliever in July.
  17. He failed miserably in his role in the last rebuild and handed the new job hence the reason he gets no leeway.
  18. They just had a historically bad season and he put the product together. There is tanking and then there is what last year was. He seems to be hiring people that other people like but have any of them had success in the position they were hired for. The guy from Arizona couldn't seem to properly evaluate a player he oversaw.
  19. The organization needs to want it to go their way and they really do not.
  20. Daniels and Nix are in systems that are being built around what they can do and a scheme that helps them. Williams is surrounded by a bunch of Bozos. The organization does not value coaching at all and may value it less then the White Sox. The entire organizational mission is to be a mom and pop thing where everyone loves Virginia and hates the Packers. The fact the Packers thoroughly emasculated them for the past 30 years and Virginia, Michael and now and ticket manager turned CEO have zero clue on how to address this issue. The team accountant was in charge for many years....yes that's who you want running the franchise. Sadly death (Bears, Bulls and Sox won't be sold) is the only way Chicago organizations change.
  21. Bears fans looking at this dumpster fire of an organization and seeing fault in Caleb Williams need to understand the role that coaching and scheme play. This organization has done nothing to help him become an NFL quarterback. Denver and Washington have guys that develop quarterbacks working with them. Williams is on his third OC. We have learned nothing about how good Williams may or may not be. Aikman is looking at it through the lense of one game. The dude playing LT should be safely tucked away on the practice squad. You think that is not going through Caleb's head? There are zero qualified people in that organization to work with him. Thomas Brown who I am sure they hoped would do well and be the HC for cheap is looking a lot more like the guy he was in Carolina. Hopefully Joe Brady takes the job as if Ben Johnson is looking for a good organization the Bears are not it. The hoopla and pageantry of being a founding team means nothing. That literally is their only selling point.
  22. Yes he could possibly be the least of our problems after the punter.
  23. He passed on Harbaugh. What has he accomplished in his role other then to build out non-football roles? The product on the field is worse then ever and they are destroying the one thing they have never had until this year. Yes Williams does not look that good but for God's sake he is on his third OC of the season and the OL is an absolute joke. That third round OL pick is an embarrassment. They are in no position to draft projects. Poles thought this roster was talented enough to cover for the 3rd round project and then to use 4th round pick on a punter. He got them from point A to B thanks to Lovie Smith. Without that pick we are worse off than we are now which is saying something. Now we will gamble on an inexperienced coordinator to change the organization with zero support from the clown shoes at Halas Hall. Good luck with that.
