  1. The cubs are beginning to be about the sideshow again.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) Wow those would be good. I'd also target one of the prominent high school HCs in the area on he defensive side to make immediate impact in recruiting the area. That would all combined make for a quick improvement. Holecek is that exact person.
  3. I hate Hillary but will vote for her over Trump every day of the week. Hillary will win in a landslide against Trump.
  4. If you feel you are a few years away, why target big money free agents? Something isn't jiving here.
  5. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) Thursday 10am code is 16pride Got great seats...great seats! Thanks
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 02:48 AM) He had 3. (Assist was given to Toews) Seabrook has almost as many points as Toews for the season
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) Kane with G, 2A Panarin with 2 G Ladd with G Hawks win 5-2 Seabrook had 4 points.
  8. I feel that rookie coaches for veteran teams usually do not end well...
  9. He can hit. Just not well enough to overcome his defense, poor base running and lack of baseball IQ.
  10. Isn't the money allotted to that pick as much if not more valuable then the pick itself. The White Sox have a pool of money that is significantly higher because of this pick and as such could sign a player that is drafted and deemed unsignable and they could throw more money at this player than if they did not have the resources attached to this pick. Is this thinking correct?
  11. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 26, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Are you kidding me? A couple of injuries? They have three players at each position with major league experience. I know you're upset about the Cubs being special now. Time to get past it. They're much better than mediocre with "an injury or two". More delusion. I am not really all that upset I just don't think they are the best team in baseball or the national league. They are good if that makes them "special" fine I agree then they are special but you act like they are the 27 Yankees. The pathetic national league helps pump up their wins as it did with St Louis last year. The NL will be tighter this year but half of the teams suck. Their rotation is not deep, their defense can be sketchy and they strike out too much. Those are things that keep me from handing them the best team in baseball title right now.
  12. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 06:14 PM) Addison Russell was among the best defensive shortstops in the game and a defensive difference make we haven't seen on the south side in forever. And you inexplicably exclude Bryant. Rizzo, Bryant, Russell, and Schwarber. All under 26. The Cubs would be good without free agent signings. Their lineup now is terrifying. Ramirez was a defensive difference maker two years ago.
  13. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 26, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) We're the only ones delusional enough to believe that the jersey on their backs make it true. The fact is, when the media talks about "Can the Cubs win the World Series?" it's only to drum up interest but they know it's more likely now than it has ever really been. With the best baseball man in the business backed by a generous piggy bank, the Cubs look to be good for a long time. And I envy them immensely because we know what the White Sox are trying and even with 2005, this "lightning in a bottle" method of going about business is draining when it fails. Arrieta is the epitome of lightning in a bottle. The Pirates have done as a good if not better job as the cubs at building a foundation. The major difference is theo has the fiances to now get what he needs. The cubs are in good position and will make the playoffs this year but they are not the best team in baseball. They have some flaws and an injury or two and they are mediocre real quick.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) Seeing Coghlan go for so cheap makes me think they're targeting someone specifically. Ethier remains the likely target, IMO I am starting to think Avi has always been the number one option unless they were given a real gift of a deal for RF.
  15. My hatred is not really with the cubs or their fans it is the media spin on them and over abundance of non-baseball bulls*** that surrounds them. Concerts at wrigley field are a disaster waiting to happen and it is an absolutely terrible venue to see a concert yet it is probably the most popular concert venue in Chicago in the summer.
  16. There's a reason folks settled on the west side of the great lakes
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) Maybe they just want Shea as a rotation LB as well as a special teams player. My guess the money will be very low. He knows the system and was new to the LB position so it wouldn't be a horrible move.....unless he was the long term ILB option.
  18. National media via local radio has been saying all week that Gasol would be extended and that this is a coaching issue not a player issue.
  19. The 94.1 morning show of Pete McMurray with Dan McNeil, more music than talk and the drive/news lady is a pretty good listen
  20. If the White Sox are looking at a two year window. The draft pick should not be of a concern nor should the name Spencer Adams. If the KW plan was bulls*** the pick is huge as it gives them draft pool money to spend and not necessarily on that selected player.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) No doubt I read a review of the episode Friday and then had low expectations. The moron that wrote the article should not be allowed to talk about TWD.
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 12, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) Which is bizarre if you ask me. Why would they want to deplete their farm anymore than what already was a weak system? Hahn is obviously an extremely bright individual. He has gone to the best schools and had succeeded in the highest levels of management. But from the outside it seems like he has no real plan or direction of exactly what he wants to do. He seemingly wants moves to come to him and if they dont then he will rationalize it like he never wanted it in the first place. This cant be the case but its how I see it in my head. Because he trusts his current scouts to draft talent as opposed to the the prior guys and as such the draft picks this year hold more weight than the guys he will give up that are currently in the system.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 12, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) Only issue is SoxNRoll was not around the dates you mentioned. I want to say those were pre world series. Did you go to Iowa or do you just have an odd attraction to bad midwest sports teams? I'll hang up and listen to your answer. Also the drama that is Ncorg got me hooked her. I was off this site for a couple of months years back and then poof he was gone and never learned why.
  24. The MLB draft is as a big a crap shoot as any tanking in the MLB does not work. You know what works, winning trades Addison Russell, Anthony Rizzo and Jake Arrieta say hi The cubs have Bryant and the White Sox Rodon becasue the team that tanked missed on Appeal and Aiken Houston shows some promise but they also could fall back to earth this year although Carlos Correa looks to be all that
  25. Hillary is winning this thing and it will not even be close. I want to vote Republican and think I would like Christie or Bush but if you told me either dropped out two weeks ago I would not be surprised. Remember when Carley was in the conversation and then Carson. Sanders will win Iowa and NH and then will not be heard from again. The Republican party is a disaster.
