  1. Loria could be a complete douche but the Marlin fans did not show up when they won and had a terrible stadium he got a brand new stadium built spent a ton of dough on the team last year and they still did not show up. The Florida fans deserve whatever they get. They have two championships and zeero fan base. The state of Florida should not have professional sports.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 11:57 PM) And all the episodes from here on out. Nice episode but the storylines are getting tough to follow without a scorecard.
  3. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) I've been with US Cellular since I got my very first phone and they were known as Cellular One. Tried switching to Verizon once, but that only lasted a couple of weeks and I switched back. Never really had any big problems with them. I've fulfilled my latest contract and am just going month-to-month now. I was just thinking about getting a new phone soon but I wonder if this is the time to switch to a new carrier. I've noticed that all the other companies advertise the fastest speeds or the best coverage while US Cellular advertises a rewards program. So have I, the service is phenomenal. This actually sucks if the service is decreased as I assume it will and I will end up on the Sprint network. Ugh.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 01:11 PM) Another reason to vote for Romney. Stop dealing with Obama's damn traffic jams. No doubt
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) The Secret Service just had traffic blocked on Congress. Driving in this morning you could tell something was going down in the loop. Tow trucks, state police and then Streets and San and cops all over the outer drive.
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 02:49 PM) What has Bell done to warrant a promotion. How many rookies took the field for the White Sox this year and contributed?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 02:49 PM) So the last 3 or so weeks of Sons have been outstanding. I was THIS close to dropping it, too! I thought the whole season has been good and the previous two seasons were ok but nothing big. I have hung with the Office and it is better this year. Big Bang Theory is also consistently good. Other than that, no network tv for me.
  8. QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) I can appreciate this and Jim Thome probably felt the same way. I guess I'm saying then that Dunn cannot be the best hitter on your team, much less bat in the 3 hole, with this approach to hitting. IMO, while I don't hate him either, he is not near the top of my list of who I would like to see at the plate with the game on the line. I could like an Adam Dunn say in the 5 or 6 hole with a legit 3 hole hitter on the team. To this end, would the Sox of had a better overall offense last year with Dunn hitting 5th and Rios hitting 3rd? I guess that this would assume that Konerko actually stayed healthy. Dunn's walks are what make him ideal in the 3 hole while Rios low OBP is what makes him ideal for the 5 hole.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 10:27 AM) just let him go, oldsox wants every opportunity to complain about management decisions, whether it makes sense or not Anyone that thinks this was not a good move is not paying attention.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) I'm guessing the number would have come in at about $75-80 million over those 4 years. Could have been. The fact Peavy agreed to this deal is yet another indication that the White Sox seem to be a decent place to play and players are not in too big of a hurry to leave. The White Sox seem to get deals done with those players that they want to get them done with.
  11. On CSN last night. Our Chuck Garfein, and I paraphrase, "now that you have pevy signed is the next move for a third baseman, like and Alex Rodriguez." Rick Hahn, "I do not want to get accussed of tampering on the first day of the job....." I think the wheels are in motion on this one and Floyd or Danks and a busload of cash comes the Sox way.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 08:57 AM) He could have gotten A LOT more on this free agent market... In terms of years, and dollars per year. The White Sox got a very good deal. Shows the Whtie Sox are not goign young. Great stand up move by Peavy. regardless of the outcome, this is a big win for the White Sox and a haircut from Peavy. Somebody would have shelled out 4 yr $50M for him. Hahn's first move is a big one.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) That was an awesome home game against the Sharks on Saturday night. It's good to see Hossa out there playing so well. I told you all that Michal Rozsíval was a better-than-advertised defender, and decent at starting the break. I'm a little concerned about that hit Seabs' took, but Q said he's day-to-day after the game. Go Hawks! Upper body injury.
  14. cub fans I knew were all over rooting for the tigers just because they realize baseball is not going to be fun for a while for them. Was really happy to see them lose. I then promptly sent them a text saying, "Cabrera and Fielder got you again." Romo made them look sick to end that.
  15. The road (162 games season) to the World Series via the American League as opposed to the National League is much harder and wears a team down more.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) Haha, there's a reason it's a 100/100 on BeerAdvocate and is almost impossible to get!! Try the Broo Doo if you get the chance, incredible. Gumballhead and Alpha King are also great too. Can't beat 3 Floyds. Isn't it Voo Doo?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Benji, the 30 for 30 tonight, might be one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. I was 11 when that happened and remember it as a major news event.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2012 -> 07:57 AM) Don Cooper is a condescending ass to the general public and media. I don't know if he is different to "his guys", but he doesn't really care what people outside of the organization think of him. In all actuality Cooper is an affable guy to the general public. He is not this way to the media. I have been to his remote shows and to a dinner he spoke at and the the guy is pretty cool. I get the feeling he just thinks Hanley is a tool.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) Not to mention some NBA players are pretty damned dumb. kaner is no genius
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) IMO, the Sox have officially taken care of enough of the fans' complaints. Affordable tickets can be had without jumping through hoops, or going on Monday, the seats are green. They built a bar. I really think this new ticket scale will start a trend in the right direction. Ya but reinsdorf is "still raking in the dough". Until he goes bankrupt, that same portion of the base will not be happy.
  21. The prices changes are not for seats that were sold anyway so this really will have little affect on the bottom line. The good seats are still expensive. If the Whte Sox thought that this would negatively impact the bottom line, they would not be doing it.

  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 09:12 AM) Anyways regardless of title, it is a great toy. I can use it anywhere I can log on to google (PC, laptop, app) without needing to download the songs on to each unit I want to listen to music on. No synching or any of that other crap either. One download of a song makes it available across all platforms. I am struggling with this as I bought a book on a tablet but then thought I could call it up on phone but could not. Very cool none the less.
  24. If it fits in the White Sox budget you do it without a doubt.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2012 -> 10:08 AM) This remaining field holds so much hate for me. I can't root for the Yankees and Tigers, well, ever. f*** Washington for the whole Adam Dunn/Edwin Jackson BS, plus being stupid enough to knuckle under to an agent and shutdown your ace for no real good reason. I can't root for Baltimore because I don't want to see Peter Angelos rewarded for what he did to the Orioles franchise. He took them from the top of baseball and almost destroyed them. That leaves the Cards and Giants. The Giants do nothing for me. That leaves the Machiavellian in me to root for St Louis. Is it hockey season yet? f***. You are so right. There is something I like about Showalter though. I would love O's v Cards or these remaining teams. Oddly, I like Leyland and Sleepy Gene Lemont but that team......ugh. Really sad that LaRussa and Leyland could have been staples in Chicago for some time.
