QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) SAFE. Chris steals 2nd. That's why Beckham needed to take a pitch or two. -

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) I'd have Beckham bunt to Peralta. You know Getz will be trying to steal if Beckham takes a pitch or two. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) How would our approach be different in that inning if we were only down 1? I think Dye would've tagged. -

Beckham needed to make him throw a strike or get it up. -

QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 02:45 PM) Where is this mid 90s fastball that Poreda is supposed to have? If he is going to throw in the low 90s with fringe-average secondary pitches he's going to get shelled sooner or later. Same place the great Alexi Ramirez defense is. Poreda seems to be fine without the big fastball. Coop has success with this so we shall see. -

Sadly this should have been an easy win for the Sox. As was pointed out earlier the 5th starter roller coaster is back. -

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) Glass half-full: The Sox are hitting the ball hard. Glass half-empty: They are either outs or foul. Same as yesterday. Richard didn't really go deep into the game Sunday for the 3 days of rest to not be enough. I'd rather Danks get the extra day as Richard would have done the same thing tomorrow. -

It wasn't that long ago that DJ was thought of by hawk as the most important reliever on the Sox. Now he has become the human gas can. I get the feeling Huff will attack the Sox and end up going 7 innings and allow 4 runs. Konerko, Dye and Podsednik will be out of this game by the start of the 5th. -

Well the Clayton Richard era better change and any thought of Carrasco starting is now put to rest. Terrible pitching will kill any offensive flow. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) If things keep going the way they are, Anderson might be the one to go.... Anderson goes to AAA as Wise would have to be DFA'd. When Quentin goes down again they are really screwed without Wise then Anderson comes back Sept. 1. Anderson gets 6 weeks to get his stroke back in AAA. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) I'm all for playing Nix in LF, Pods in CF, and Getz at 2nd tomorrow. I'd play Wise over Getz or Anderson...............I can't beleive I typed that., Linebrink is having trouble putting guys away............there you go Flowers has scored 51 runs per Hawk? -

Wow is Anderson bad right now. He needs to go to AAA as somebody may actually pick up Wise and I do not think Quentin is going to last the season if he comes back. Pods on the radio said he is a much better CF'er than LF as he can judge the ball better. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) Who's pitching the 9th? Linebrink I bet Guillen goes with Pena. I'd like Dotel myself as he seems like he will not give up 4 maybe one or two. -

Thorton is a beast. See...................against Minny Spahn hits a flair double to score Kubel aftyer Kubel gets a double bouncing it off the plate and Gomez gets his third bunt single which Richard throws away and Gomez scores........that is what goes through my head during a twin game in the roller dome. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) do you ever get this weird feeling in your stomach when the sox are leading by one or two going into the 8th inning at the metrodome? I watch every Twin game like cub Sox game that at any time the Sox are going to get no hit or give up a 20 spot and no game is ever safe. -

I came to log in and missed the DP. My reasoning for logging in was to point out that I thought the ball Garko hit shouold have been a DP. Nix should play every day. The only ball the Indians got in the air left the park. Jose was unhittable through six after settling down. Thorton should get the 8th with all of the lefties. The fate of this gamer rests with the offense which seems to have shut it down. -

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 12:07 PM) So, they will rebuild Wrigley? You gotta go with the opposite of what Bruce says. Also, lets say the Cubs do rebuild wrigley in the same spot and have to play a year in the cell... wouldn't we make a good profit off of that? Wouldn't the revenue drawn into the stadium when the Cubs play come to JR and the sox? Or at least a portion of it? Or at the very least, you'd think we'd make the cubs at least pay to play there. Sox get nothing they have a nice lease with the ISA but do not own the park they pay rent based on hitting an attendence figure. I do think JR owns the parking lots though. -
cubs will pick him up and move Marshall to the rotation

White Sox Acquire RP Tony Pena from ARI for Brandon Allen
Harry Chappas replied to chetkincaid's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) We got a #2 starter for Reed. For Allen, we got a guy who looks to be the 6th or 7th best thing in our bullpen. There were others involved in the Reed trade including a young Olivo and I forget the third. -
While Halladay is a horse. There is no Peavy talk now as he is hurt. If Halladay falls over the fence and busts a toe there is no Halladay talk until this offseason. I think JP if he is going to move, moves quickly.

The necessary "HELL YES!"/Hawk poll
Harry Chappas replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (brendol @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 03:04 AM) Most people besides white sox fans dont like hawk at all. Vin Scully alone tops what we have. That is like comparing Babe Ruth to Paul Konerko. The only people that need to like Hawk are Sox fans as the only people the need to like to muppet voiced cub announcer are cub fans. Ron Santo is part of a mystic as are Hawk and Farmer Brenly and Stone do their job. Sure Hawk is over the top but so are most fans that spend time on message boards talking about their team. I gave f*** ya yesterday on the homer as I did for the Pods winning hit. That hit last night broke the Indians and as any fan of the Sox knows the psyche of the offense is weak. It Sowers gets through 7 the Sox could have lost 3 in a row easily and have been in a funk tothe break. -
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) Pie is a bit more toolsy then BA, but yeah, your point is sound. I disagree.
