  1. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 18, 2006 -> 10:24 AM) I have to admit, if things were the other way around, there is NO WAY in hell I'd be going to Wrigley for this series. I wonder what % of the crowd will be Cub fans. Last year at wrigley when we were going for the sweep it was 50/50 at their place.
  2. Barry Bonds puts on the largest arm pad in the world and crowds the plate. He never gets a strike called on him. Why should he not be brushed back or hit.... He wasn't drilled in the head.
  3. I know what guillen is doing but you need to have major league pitchers on the team not guys to run out there and "take one for the team" that is all logan and this assclown pitching are good for. We need 11 major league pitchers not guys to take one for the f***ing team. Screw that. Friday and tonight were giveaways because our bullpen is short two arms. A major league reliever should have been brought up and McCarthy should have started the last two games Jose games. Three games since last week were give away because we didn't have apitcher to come in and hold ateam down. At least we have found out in May and not September.
  4. Can we give up on Boone Logan for now. It was a nice little story but now it is f***ing embarassing to be gettting our asses kicked by the D-Rays. s*** this is only going to get worse another guillen pet comes in. Feels like Friday's game and it carried over for two days of bad baseball.
  5. 2 of 3 for the cub would not be that surprising to me. Maddux always pitches good against us and Zambrano has been going good. We do not fair well against lefties so Saturday is by no means a cakewalk. They will be up, we better be as well. They also will be rested being at home, we fly in late Thursday for an afternoon game. I also hope we don't look past the Rays.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 13, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) He looks like the second coming of Santana. Could we trade AJ for Liriano and Nathan? How does that guy keep his job. Latroy hawkins for anyhting.
  7. I like both charts, thanks. I like to see what we are drawing and there was some pretty serious work put in on these and hadn't seen them in a while. I did not mean to have any cub talk in this.
  8. Can the cat that did all of the charting for attendance reappear. I am to lazy to look for it but it was a cool little graph with some great detail. Two sell-outs against the Royals and 60K plus thus far in this series has got to be nice. This stems from the Trib gig about the attendance.
  9. I take the losses as hard as anyone. Ask anyone who saw me Friday. Last night would have been great and could have really killed the Halos. We had no business being in that game. My problem is that Ozzie seems to get in trouble when he goes to the pen to often. McCarthy or Cotts would have been fine to finish. Why only let Jenks face two guys. If you want him in bring him in to start with or not at all. He did this with Thorton the other day. The best thing about last night was McCarthy getting his groove back in order to give him a start Monday or Tuesday if today is rained out. Jenks is fine all is still well. Charlie.........................well McCarthy has to feel a tad better about himself.
  10. My take is that there will always be pain and discomfort and he may be thinking, I can do this for three months with pain killers and what not but not for a whole season.
  11. His agent is driving the bus and is not the type to do anything for the good of the organization.
  12. For May 19th.......1908
  13. It is probably some sort of sponsorship thing and teams can phase them overtime.
  14. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ May 8, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) So the only thing that's keeping this thread going is that Count might have a small ache in the back... Like Hermanson has..........
  15. Wasn't a relative of Chuck's a poster here? The credence to the story is this. Can the Angels hit a knuckleball? Haegar can not come out of the pen. Therefore I can see him get a first look.
  16. Rumor as in the guy next to you or a credible source rumor???? Someone would have had to have been moved for this to happen.
  17. My thoughts; Mackowiak is showing he can not be relied on as anyhting more than a 24 or 25th man. Jenks pitched three days in a row he should not have been in that game at all. Now he is unavailable the rest of this series in my mind. Thorton looked great in the 8th and he should have gone longer in the 9th. His problem is that he has trouble putting guys away Bloomquist the other night and Guiel last night. Last night it was cold and pitchers have trouble getting warm, see both bullpens. My problem with Guillen's use of the bullpen is this, either go with your gut or go with the lefty/righty thing. The sad thing about last night is later in the season we will be b****ing about teams getting to play the Royals while we are playing tough teams. You have to beat the Roayls. Oh and the Sox sent 19 men to the plate through 6 inninngs, that is not good.
  18. I have eaten more crow in the last year.....the taste never leaves my mouth. I will still complain and second guess, that is the best thing about baseball. I am not used to following a team that actually is better than everyone else and having a manager that is becoming very good at winning.
  19. Let Logan, McCarthy and Thorton get work. There is no reason for Buerhle to still be in this game. This is really bad managing all day.
  20. You can add Mackowiak to the list of guys that should be looking until they get a strike especially after the long at-bat by Konerko.
  21. If there is a pitch count and Uribe, Anderson and Ozuna swing before they at least have one strike they should be benced following the at-bat. The Indian bullpen is overworked.
  22. I believe Farmer mentioned Konerko's slow start last night. I think Brantley was just confused and that comment could have been overlooked but stating that Papelbon is the best player in baseball is just stupid. Isn't Jenks younger and more experienced??????????? If Jenks pitched in NY or Boston there would have been a whole segment on the 9th inning--- 4 batters, 11 pitchers, 1 broken bat single, 3 strikeouts----that is sick.
  23. After seeing that I think it will be a pretty long time. Regardless of who is calling what this was not a toss or a flip. He threw the bat, again the year sounds about right.
  24. When talking about their greatest White Sox moments recently, DJ--- hitting a homerun on Opening Day 1999, his last Opening Day Hawk --- winning the World Series This was an answer to an e-mail question which maybe DJ misunderstood but it also tells of who appreciates the organization more. In terms of career achievement Hawk being named GM would be greater then the Sox winning the series although he kind of stays away from this subject.
  25. QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Who's really positive that he's got back spasms? Maybe it's the "phantom" spasms and Ozzie just really doesn't want to pitch him this series being Seattle and all. Just convenient it came right before the Seattle series IMO. Who knows.... He hasn't pitched in over two weeks.
