I'm not buying this for a second. Crede is at best the 4th best thirdbaseman in the AL. So, if he makes it ahead of Longoria, Lowell, ARod (he's the voted starter anyway, right?), and Carlos Guillen (does he count?), there is something wrong.

Fields went 1-2 with 2 walks and a K.

With the combo of Wise and Anderson doing very good lately and the fact we need AT LEAST two backup infielders, I see Russell being the odd man out once Konerko returns.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) He needs to pitch in the 8th, and only the 8th. I think every homer he's allowed has been in the 9th or later. My thoughts exactly.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) man, it's nice to actually have someone be able to score from 1st on a gapper. Actually, thanks to video from MLB Gameday, I realize Ramirez scored from 1st on a ball hit down the line that took a favorable bounce for us... same difference though, as he still scored whereas other players would just be standing at 3rd.

just a little update, so far tonight Konerko is 1-2 with a walk. His hit was an RBI double.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 06:36 PM) BA just got those two hot older blond ladies in the first row to fall in love with him. correction, they have already been in love with him...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 07:30 PM) 78 pitches through 5 for Gavy. Slightly better than his pace after 3, still has a shot at going 7. As long as he's going good, there should be no thought of taking him out, no matter what his pitch count is. Pitch count is by far one of the most overrated factors in determining fatigue for a pitcher. If he starts hanging breaking balls and missing up in the zone, then he should be taken out. Not because he has thrown over 100 pitches.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 5, 2008 -> 05:42 AM) But...but...it could have all been a prank! They were such good boys! They would never hurt anyone! My favorite one is when they say they were going to start/go back to school in the following week or something.

I believe Konerko will be starting his rehab today for the Knights.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) About 15% less from the sounds of it, just on income alone, and then when he invests part of it, probably 15% less then that because he's going to raise capital gains too from the sounds of it. And then, add abother 3.325% when you add the FICA adjustment. Oh, and then when he dies, his heirs will get the s*** taxed out of that, too!! But it's ok, the asshole makes too much money anyway, and those poor people need it for government provided (insert program here) because the government should take care of us all by redistributing wealth from those evvvvvvvvvvvvil f***ing rich people!!! I forget, is Obama running for the Democrat party or the Socialist party?
-
so, how much will he be making after Obama gets into office and raises taxes?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) Anyone get their PS3 ruined by the new update? nope, and I think the new update is awesome. I love how you can now go to the title screen while in the middle of a game. One thing I always hated was not being able to communicate with my buddies during CoD4.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 01:17 AM) I'm not sure you fully understand how desperate the Dodgers are for anything resembling a major league shortstop. Hu has been terrible and they've resorted to Angel Berroa and Luis Maza, so yes, Juan Uribe would be an upgrade in LA. They tried to trade Loaiza for him already, so there's atleast a bit of interest from them. well, the fact that the Dodgers only offered Loaiza for Uribe should be an indication of how much they thought of Uribe.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 4, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) WE NEED TIMO BACK Hasn't that been a given since 06?

While Jenks is out, I'd really prefer to see Thornton as the closer. Dotel I don't trust late in pressure situations and Linebrink should stay as the set up man (and I'm not saying that because of last night).

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 04:43 AM) But if she was in Canada she would've died after waiting for a month. It is ridiculous how long Britain and Canada make you wait for treatment. Yet, all the politicians don't have to go through the same system as everyone else.

I love how Obama can change is opinion on gay marriage after posing one view against it for many many years, and then all of a sudden be in favor of it one day, and have absolutely NONE of the msm call him out on it. My gosh, this guy can do anything he wants and get away with it.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 05:18 PM) I saw it. Even with it there, we still beat them. Well, in a fifty years when some random guy is for some reason looking back at the box scores of those two games, it isn't going to say we beat either Lee or Sabathia, but rather Borowski and Kobayashi. Look at some of the games from last year when our pen blew so many games. I remember too many times when Danks, Javy, or Buehrle would have a great start, and then have the bullpen blow it in the last two innings. Did the opposing team beat the starter or pen? Anyway, this is a stupid argument. Lets send Douche...erer back to the pen.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) They started the game, and their team lost. We beat Lee and CC. Did you not see the word technically in there?
-
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) Javy career wise has had bad June's. Lets hope it's behind him. Think about it, if we beat Duchscherer tonight we would have beat Cliff Lee, Sabathia, and Duchscherer all in a row. Amazing right there. Well, technically, we really didn't beat either Lee or Sabathia.

QUOTE (TCQ @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 08:43 AM) Mcann and Thorpe would be awesome but have they even thought about them much, youd figure theyd have to give them a pretty good bonus to get them to sign and being such late picks that looks unlikely. Have you heard anything about the sox makin a move? No, I am just hoping if we miss out on Long that we'd use the money we were going to give him and try and sign McCann and Thorpe. I really want McCann signed to as he is a switch hitting catcher.

QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 12:01 AM) if he comes back and the sox start losing then you have to bench and go back to what was working. Pauly has a history of sucking and I see no reason why he should just waltz back into the starting spot. He's had one really sucky season (03) and one very mediocre season (07). Now, you tell me how those 2 years mean more then the other 8(?) he has spent with the White Sox.
