QUOTE(Soxy @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) I agree, you only use them to dry off when you're already clean so why wash them everyday? It wouldn't be so bad if there was a constant supply of clean towels, but it seems like I am always running to laundry room and pulling one out of the dryer. On a related drying note, I found that for backpacking and camping these chamois type things are great. Kind of a clammy feeling, but they are small and lightweight and don't get all funky smelling after a couple days.

  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) Putting it all together thus far: Having recovered from the 12-gague vasectemy, Johhny left the house for an evening of quaffing from the firkin, his buckshot-riddled nethers ornately festooned with his favorite merkin. And to think, I could have been an English Comp teacher.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) I thought SOP for all 911 calls is for an officer to be dispached... ? I remember when my little cousin was playing with the phone and the cops showed up cause he accidentally hit 911. I can't see how it isn't.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Some thought I was an idiot doing so, but I had a great time and I would do it again if I were in the same situation. Sometimes, when it works out, working because you love the work can be a wonderful experience.
  23. How can one person be that stupid? The kid did sound very calm the first time I heard the tape. It kills me to hear it. I hope that woman feels very bad about that. I hope that little guy's voice is haunting her dreams for a very long time. Has anyone heard what the station's protocal is for "prank" calls? I can't believe anywhere in their training is they should distinguise from prank and real. With caller ID, they kow it was someone at that location. :headshake WTF? Whomever made that decision should be fired on the spot. No way does she stay on the phones.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) Pack brands are like shoe brands - its all about body type (or foot type). ain't that the truth. Sierra Design mummy bags are perfect for me, big hoods.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 08:39 AM) Mountainsmith I tried on a couple of their packs and they just don't seem to fit me. After suggesting to all my Scouts that Alps Mountaineering would be a great first pack (they offer great Scout discounts) I tried one and it is the best fitting sub $200 pack I've ever tried. My Gregory is still near and dear to my heart and if I meet up with the bastard that stole it, he will suffer.
